Anyone ever consider that maybe Trump is in the race to split the votes between him and the republican nominee. He has said he will run as an independent, which hurts us more than Hillary, if he does not get the nomination. That alone tells me he is not loyal to anyone and will only go the direction that best suites him. Also, I find it really hard to believe a native born New Yorker can have an ounce of conservative in him. Look at those he socializes with to see where his true colors are. People socialize with like minded people. I can tell you I am voting for Cruz and I will not vote for Trump. How many candidates have you seen shooting? Shooting machine guns? Cooking bacon on the barrels of "assault weapons? That's right, none. He is a Constitutional lawyer that has fought for gun rights. He was heavily involved in the Heller case. He is still fighting for us so for that reason alone I will vote for him. He also wants to abolish the IRS and our current tax system. He wants to fix the immigration system without giving them amnesty. There are a lot more reasons to like Cruz than things that are wrong. I was critical of him the last time I spoke of him. Now I see and now I want Cruz to be president. He has a long history of supporting the Constitution. If nothing else just read an unbiased history of what all he has done in his life. If there is one candidate that is for the people it is Cruz.

300 blackout headspace gauges.
Dolomite_supafly replied to ballz71's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
What are you setting the headspace on? If it is for an AR I would not worry about it unless you bought the cheapest parts out there but even that doesn't guarantee it will be out of spec. You cannot really adjust the headspace on an AR after the barrel extension is in place and the gas port drilled. It can be done but it will be a hack job when finished. -
Something you may not realize is that having a scope actually built by Leupold might be better as well as cheaper. There was a thread on another forum a few years back where a guy was about to buy their shotgun scope then have the reticle swapped to an actual BDC reticle that matched his accurate load. It was nearly identical to another ready made scope Leupold had but the custom one was a few hundred cheaper. Most BDC reticles do not match most loads. You might get really, really lucky and have your accurate load be the one used to calibrate the stadia lines but in most cases they do not match at all. When you are dialing a lot you want a better quality scope. The cheaper ones use cheaper materials and the clicks become mushy over time. If it is going to be zeroed and stay that way for long periods the cheaper ones will work fine. Also, the cheaper ones might settle into their zero by shifting a little as it is getting shot.

I just had some stuff engraved using a laser and could not be happier. The place is Mercury Engraving off of Kingston Pike in the Farragut area. Joy Cole was extremely nice and very professional. They engrave while you wait. They engraved an AK and a ti tube for a 9mm silencer I am building. Give Mercury Engraving a call at 865-966-4876.

Affordable scope for .22 bolt action?
Dolomite_supafly replied to ReeferMac's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
That is the scope I use for my 300 Blackout. It is better than the P300 for the 300BO. I was sent a preproduction Nikon P300 to review and give them feedback. I told them the P22 was a better scope, and it is, for the 300BO. I have never had an issue with my P22 scope. Tracks great, clear and the turrets are great. My ONLY complaint about the P22 is the BDC reticle sucks. Well it doesn't suck but it doesn't work well as a BDC reticle either. I can show you my P22, and a few other scopes, when you come out. -
Affordable scope for .22 bolt action?
Dolomite_supafly replied to ReeferMac's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Look in the box for the rail. I can almost guarantee that there is a Weaver style scope rail in there. It also looks like it has the rimfire grooves that are 3/8". I have a set of "tactical" rimfire rings you can have. Just have to meet up sometime. Did you buy it new? -
Affordable scope for .22 bolt action?
Dolomite_supafly replied to ReeferMac's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Not sure on the American but Rugers generally come with any scope rail the gun might need. Every 10/22 I have bought had one as did every Ruger 22 pistol I have ever bought new. -
That is no joke either. I got lead poisoning a few years back. I believe it was from the amount of shooting I was doing more so than the casting. Hard to say though but I definitely had lead poisoning and a pretty bad case at that.

Sportsman's guide free shipping, ammo even

This is from the details for the free shipping. Link to where ammunition is free? -
I think intent should be the criteria. If you had no intention to pay when you took it out it is fraud. If you intended to pay it back but cannot, for ANY reason, then it is a civil matter. Attach their wages, income tax or put a lien on their property but we cannot allow people to get arrested for violating a civil contract that breaks no criminal laws. If this stands then what is keeping me from calling the cops if I loan someone $10 and they never repay. Only difference is the amounts. No way someone should be a criminal for violating a civil contract. How about if you miss a payment on your house, car or cable bill? Does that mean those companies can have you arrested? I don't think so. IMHO it is no different than not paying on a student loan. Judges and LE are getting WAY out of hand. We had a judge issue an order to arrest someone because the "criminal" decided not to do their job. They broke no criminal laws but were still thrown in jail. Be careful what we wish for because when people start getting arrested for civil matters it means it is just a matter of time before people start getting arrested for other civil matters. Say someone doesn't do work to your satisfaction and you refuse to pay. Do they have a right to have you arrested for refusing to pay according to the contract? Or do you have the right to have them arrested for not abiding by the contract? This is a very, very slippery slope and imagine the abuse by those in power.

Wait until the debts for ACA become more prevalent. It will eventually be just like mandatory car insurance. Don't have it, get fined but if you don't pay the ACA fine I can guarantee it will someday, hopefully not soon, be a criminal offense.

You should not be able to spray paint over an engraving. There is a depth requirement, .003", and that is the minimum. If the laser is just etching the surface it is not considered a legal. And if you can spray paint over the "engraving" and it disappears it is likely not deep enough.

If I absolutely had to have an AR in 7.62x39 it would be the CMMG Mutant. They eliminate the two weak points of an AR in 7.62x39. First, it uses standard AK magazines and second it uses a much larger bolt head. If I remember correctly it is a 308 Winchester sized bolt head which is way better than a 5.56 sized bolt that has been machined for 7.62x39. I have owned several 7.62x39 ARs and I never really had any problems but they were not used a lot either. They were used for experimentation more than anything.

No one should ever break any of the safety rules surrounding firearms but if you do just hope you are following the others. It is when two, or more, safety rules are ignored that things get really dangerous. I have had my fair share of accidental discharges but I am always super, super about where my muzzle is. And dare I say it but we have all broken a gun safety rule a time or two ourselves. I can honestly say I am glad there isn't a video of some of the stupid crap I did when I was young.

What about taking a clay and having it coated with Line-X. They use it to make cinder blocks bomb proof. Can't cost too much and they could probably do it during another job. Not sure where but they do sell clays that cannot be broken. They are supposed to be for fooling someone but they might work.

Anyone have any recommendations for an attorney for estate planning? Need to get some things in order and prefer to get it done as soon as humanly possible. Thanks

Recommend a contractor in Knoxville
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
We are adding a covered porch, a trellis and fixing roofing issues from when ProTech builders added the garage and then refused to fix issues related to their poor work. Not a lot of work needs to be done and definately not worth selling the house over. -
I am needing some work done as well as repair some shoddy work by a previous contractor. Please recommend contractors you have personal knowledge of or have used in the past. Called one yesterday to get an estimate and they said I MUST have an email address or they would not do the work. Yes, I have an email but not going to give it out until we meet and discuss the work to be done. And trying to give an honest estimate for custom work is really hard to do over the phone, internet or email. A contractor who wants to give an estimate without even stepping on the property means they are either going to upcharge later or do crappy work to ensure they make a profit. Seriously, what kind of contractor would give estimates without even knowing what I am wanting? Anyways, needing a contractor that can do roofing, tree cutting, additions and possible landscaping work. Or if you can recommend someone to do these things I will make the calls and act as my own contractor. This biggest thing right now is we need someone to add onto our house.

Thanks man. It was a great gun. Maybe they are putting that in there because some ranges do not allow "armor piercing".

Had a big scare the other day that forced me to make some changes
Dolomite_supafly replied to mav's topic in General Chat
Carry a copy of the report from the police with the vehicle. That way if a dog ever alerts on that vehicle you can show them why. Canine search dogs should not alert on Xanax, or any other prescription drug, but you never want to take a chance. -

And to make things even scarier. Can you imagine trying to tell the cop that just pulled you over that all the paraphernalia and residue was not yours or your family's? Could take away your right to vote, defend yourself with a firearm as well as your freedom. I know if I pulled over a car that had drugs or paraphernalia in it and the owners told me the drugs in their car wasn't theirs I would laugh as I took them to jail. -
Active Shooter @ Navy Medical Center San Diego?
Dolomite_supafly replied to GlockSpock's topic in General Chat
So let me get this straight, someone imagines something and it is news. And with that we will be hearing all the talking heads saying that the reason why an active shooter situation never occurred there was because Obama's recent executive orders prevented it. Had Obama not put in place those executive orders this could have been a real active shooter situation in which millions of children, and possibly kittens, would have been maimed or killed by evil assault weapons.
