Property owner rights have trumped individual rights for centuries. I still don't get what you mean by too much leeway. What protects you on someone's property is not some Constitutional right but laws. There is a difference between a law and a Constitutional right. You may have the right to protect yourself but when on someone else's property they can dictate how you do it if you want to stay on the property. They can make it a condition of being on that property that you carry Nerf guns. Dolomite

SWATTING - spoofing the swat team to respond on false call
Dolomite_supafly replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
This has been going on for years. I remember reading about it at least 5 years ago if not longer. Dolomite -
A property owner or his agent can set whatever conditions he wants in order for you to be on his property. You have ZERO rights afforded by the Constitution on private property. You have no right to keep and bear arms on private property unless the property owner allows you. You have no right to free speech on private property, again unless the propert owner lets you. You have no right to be free from unreasonable search and siezure if the property owner makes that a condition of you being on his property, employers do it all the time. And the property owner can ask you to leave for any reason or no reason at all and if you don't you are guilty of trespass. The Constitutional rights are only there to protect you from the governement, not to protect you from other private citizens. And as such the Ammendments of Constitution do not apply to you in your dealings with other private entities. And a private entity can be an individual or a multinational corporation. So if you think you are guaranteed any constitutional rights on someone else's property you are wrong. Dolomite

And this is better than a beta mag how? Last time I chacked the beta mag has twice the capacity and actualy sits closer to the gun. I will still take my aluminum GI mags over anything else out there. Dolomite -
And a property has the right to ask you to leave if you don't answer. Or if they don't like you carrying they can ask you to leave as well even if they are not posted. Personally I would answer that I was and be nice about it. Getting an attitude about it will only push people away about the subject. Dolomite

What is the street price on these? I priced them at the show and they were asking beyond what I would call reasonable. The dealer added a few hundred to the MSRP. But he said he would throw in a high capacity magazine. Dolomite

They are very easy. Once you grind out the three rivets it assembles just like any other AK. Mine took about an hour and I had to modify the shepards hook because I used a standard AK hook that wasn't ground. Dolomite

The price matched Walmart's price on 420 round ammo cans of M855. And it was $100 difference. They will call to verify your word but the do indeed price match other stores. Dolomite

Glad to see you guys are making progress. I really need to find some land and set up a permanent shack. Dolomite

No new trial for Christian/Newsome murderers

I would not want the families to be allowed to torture these animals. Not for the animals sake but for the family's sake. Stuff as horrendous as that can be hard to get out of your mind and can affect you for a lifetime. With that being said if the families want to, I think they should be allowed to do pretty much whatever they want for the same amount of time their children were being tortured. I am sure during the trial they saw some horrendous photos of their loved ones so they are probably numb at this point for various reasons. Personally I could live with myself if I were allowed to exert some justice if someone killed my child. I consider myself a pretty compassionate person but can be brutal when I need to be. Dolomite -
I lke this stuff too. Dolomite

I have a bottle of Dave's that has been sitting in the cupboard for at least 8 years. I bought it and put a single drop in a pot of Mac+Cheese and it was too hot. After that the only thing it has been used for is dares. I do like spicy food but that is way to hot for me. Dolomite

Hve your friend pay for his stuff then go to court and get a judgement against the thieves. Might be a while but he should be made whole. I know in some cases the courts will pay the victim from state funds then go after the criminals for the money. Dolomite

Maybe not in the rimfires then. I have never seen a centerfire Savage barrel that doesn't have chatter marks. Doesn't affect accuracy at all but it was a bit disheartening the first time I noticed them. I may go split one of the Savage barrels I have laying around and post results. Dolomite
-
Go look down the barrel of a Savage if you want to see real chatter marks. Doesn't seem to hurt the accuracy either. I would have shot it first to check accuracy. You would be surprised how awful a barrel can look and still shoot well. Dolomite

He does the gun show circuit. He has even been known to hand deliver if a buyer is along his route. Dolomite

On the topic of bottled water..

Are you sure? Palatable doesn't mean it is safe. Dolomite -
They have been around since the days of the Colt single actions. The .41 caliber Colt had a bullet that would literally drop down the bore if it was unfired. Now upon firing it would seal like you mention. Dolomite

The filters also last 3,000 gallons each or 6,000 for the pair that come with the filter. And that is if you don't clean them. You can clean them up to 100 times giving a total life of 600,000 gallons. And if we drink 3 gallons a day the filters will last 548 years with cleaning. Cleaning is nothing more than taking 5 minutes and wiping down the outside of the filter elements with a green scrub pad when the filters slow down. Now I do have a very optimistic outlook on my lifespan but I think the Berkey filter might outlast me. And because I made a hand pump for our well we will always have a supply of water that is safe and palatable to drink. Dolomite -
And remember his generosity when you have the ability to do the same for others. Dolomite
-
And this is why everyone should buy from David at the shows. He is more than just a great guy, more importantly he has the lowest prices on any supplies you might want or need. He also has stuff that other suppliers can't find or get. And this bit of generosity is not rare with him. There are a lot of people that he has helped out in similar ways, me included. He supports the shooting community, has a wealth of knowledge you won't find in books and is willing to share it with anyone willing to ask. Dolomite

I believe all executions should be public. They generally happen at midnight anyways so those not fit to watch should be in bed. Maybe if would be thugs could see people foaming at the mouth, steaming and crapping themselves maybe they would not break the law so readily. Dolomite
