  1. Same finger, 6 years ago: And that injury removed the scar from a drill bit through the finger. Needless to say my poor thumb has been through a lot. Dolomite
  2. No meds for me other than antibiotics. Dolomite
  3. Some more pictures, not for the faint of heart. The next week is going to be fun. Dolomite
  4. A very, very sharp knife. Clean cut to the bone from the joint to about 1/4" from the tip. X-rays are clean save for some lead from an injury long, long ago. Dolomite
  5. This is one side. The cut is identical down the opposite. Dolomite
  6. Well the nurse wanted to take a look. Well she didn't get a good look because she was trying to avoid the squirting. My heart sank too. Didn't think it was that bad. Dolomite
  7. Pics to follow. Let me just say my thumb will likely not be the same ever again. It is minor but important if I am going to a hospital. Dolomite
  8. Buy the cheapest you can find for plinking. But realize that cheap ammo will not be as accurate as quality ammo. Dolomite
  9. Doesn't mean a thing. I know a group of ladies who all have their HCP. They do not own a single gun. They said they got them to try to impress people as they order their drinks at a local bar. My wife even invited them to shoot but they didn't seem to interested in the idea of handling another gun. Dolomite
  10. A couple of things to watch out for. Make sure it isn't MG ammo. The MG ammo is really hot, as in +++P+++!!!++ hot. It is way to hot for a pistol. Second it will probably have very hard primers. I would buy a few hundred to try before I bought more. I know some people who had hard primered 9mm and their pistols would not set it off on the first strike. And finally, even though it is brass cased it is likely berdan primed and not reloadable. If that matters. Dolomite
  11. I like the idea of allowing people to put whatever poison they want in their body. And if they harm someone else then charge them for that crime. Don't prevent someone who is responsible in their habits from enjoying those habits because of some person who isn't responsible. Dolomite
  12. I think the the punishment for carrying past the sign should be secondary to another charge. And most officers should be doing a cursory pat down of a suspect anyways and that would reveal a weapon. Then the officer can go from there and charge then with a sign violation but only if they are charged with another crime. Say if the person refuses to leave they get charged with trespassing first then a sign violation secondary to the trespassing charge. Or if they are past the sign and start a fight then they should be charged with assault first then a sign violation next. But walking past the sign should not be the only charge. Like a seatbelt or speeding violation being used a probable cause to an investigation that leads to further charges. Use the initial charge, unrelated to carrying past a sign, as a means to check for a firearm. Then if the person is carrying and there is a sign then charge them. And increase the signage pentaly to a SUBSTANTIAL amount because it takes more than just walking past the sign to be charged with it. Afterall they must have broken another law for them to be charged with violating the sign law. Dolomite
  13. We are talking about a private party not those there with authority to do so. A private party does not have the authority over the property owner without due process. And that due process isn't inside the property, it is inside a court room. And yes I can ask a handicapped person to leave from a business I own for any reason or no reason at all. I can also ask a black, yellow, red or even purple person to leave as well. And if any of them refuse they are trespassing. Just because someone falls into a certain class doesn't exempt them from following the law. Well except maybe politicians but that is a whole other argument. Dolomite
  14. Out of the two I would rather have a kayak over a canoe. You may not be able to carry as much on a kayak but they are easier to manuever, handle rough water better and generally cheaper. We looked at sit in and sit on kayaks. And the sit on ones are nearly as stabile as the sit in types. We have two, one that is about 7 feet and another that is 9.5 feet. Both have their advantages. The small one tracks better and is more manueverable while the big one is less manueverable but has a TON of carrying capacity as well as storage. Dolomite
  15. There is no law that says you have to tell your doctor the truth regarding issues unrelated to your healthcare. I am fortunate in that the doctor I see most often is a gun guy. We shoot together and talk about guns regularly. He is a great doctor who is worried more about treating people than seeing how many appointments he can make in a day. Dolomite
  16. I sense a bit of sarcasm there. Dolomite
  17. And that is exactly how it should be. Afterall carrying past the sign is only a misdemeanor and unless the officer witnesses the commsission of a misdemeanor they cannot issue a citation or make an arrest. There are exceptions to the rule like domestic violence but not so with walking past a legal posting. If a person walks past a proper sign and is not behind the sign when LE arrives there is nothing LE can do. The owner of the property can have the officer issue a no trespass order preventing the person from ever coming back. But the officer cannot issue a citation or make an arrest unless they witnessed it. But if they are behind the sign and it is witnessed by LE then they can be charged with a class B misdemeanor. Additionally if the person with the gun refuses to leave they can also be charged with trespass. Sounds to me the the ticket for carrying past a sign could be used as an "a**hole" ticket. Meaning on top of a trespass charge for refusing to leave they could also charge them with violating 39-17-1359 just to put a little more sting to it for the trouble. Dolomite
  18. Even the law provides that you can store your firearm in your vehicle when you find yourself in an area in which you are not allowed to carry legally. I know having a firearm on school property IS legal providing the gun is contained in a private vehicle operated by an adult that is not a student. Dolomite
  19. One more thing, I hope the Turtle Man isn't going to be there doing his "Live Action". Dolomite
  20. Actually it will turn into a real life zombie attack and by "zombies" I mean the current crop of criminals roaming the streets now. Dolomite
  21. A vandalism and littering charge for each and every flag would be great. As well as the fact they were probably intoxicated leading to a public intoxication charge. Then there is the impeding traffic violation for walking in the middle of the road. And finally the resisting arrest charge to cover the mandatory ass beating the criminal deserves. I wonder if this can be used to start deportation proceedings. I know it doesn't happen as often as it used to but maybe the INS needs to hear about this criminal's antics. All in a perfect world. Dolomite
  22. This is nothing new, there have been zombies in Detroit for decades. Dolomite
  23. I still do not see what I posted as being wrong. There may be differences between the two types of property but a private property owner, business or otherwise, can choose whether a person is allowed to do something on their property or not or even if that person is allowed on the property. They can dictate a guest do anything, providing what they are requiring is not against the law, as a condition of entering the property. Just because someone is "open for business" doesn't put them lower on the rights ladder than their customers. Dolomite
  24. We bought some sit on kayaks a few years ago. My wife goes out with her friends very regularly. Me, on the other hand, only go once a year. I can't be in it for very long and the water has to be very smooth or it isn't very enjoyable. Dolomite
