Dolomite_supafly replied to daddyo's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
If this is the first day of him doing it you would mind you own business and let it go. We all get new toys and want to play with them. I am sure you are the same way, be it with a new firearm or a new mower. And odds are his firearms are just as illegal as your mower. Calling LE because he has been shooting a few hours is going to create a lot more animosity between you two. And when that happens don't get upset when he decides to do the same to you. Realistically there is nothing you can do legally to prevent him from shooting on his property if he is legal and safe. He has the right to shoot from the minute the sun rises until sunset. And if you create more animosity by calling LE he might excercise that right and the only thing you could do is to put ear plugs in. I have been on the receiving end of LE being called to me shooting. LE came out, we talked and they shot some of my guns. Then they left and told the complainants I was perfectly legal. And I still talk to those who called on me. I had a new set of neighbors decide to try to annoy me by shooting while I was shooting (never understood that). I have had those same neighbors come on my property and start crap when I was shooting. In the end if they show up again they WILL be arrested for trespassing and I will get an order of protection against them. They were trying to start a fight the last time they came on my property and made a bunch of threats against my family and I as they left my property. Dolomite -
I have heard some of the Stoner barrel have offset ports or locator pins. Not by much but some have enough of a problem that you either have a canted gas block or a partially blocked port. If you are going that short you MUST have a pistol length system gas system in order for it to run reliably. You can open the port on a barrel that short with a carbine length gas system that short but the port is going to be HUGE. That is in order to get enough pressure to cycle reliably and that would be with Ssupersonics only. And then you might get some slivering of the the bullet but not always. Most 16" carbine length gas system barrel have ports larger than .100" and with a shorter barrel that needs to be increased even more. So for a barrel less than 16" you need to have a pistol length gas system. And even with a pistol length gas system you need to choose between subsonics only OR supersonics only OR get an adjustable gas block to be able to shoot both. Without the adjustable gas block you will have a gun that will run supers but not subsonics or when you get it shooting subsonics shooting supersonics will over gas the gun. For my 16" gun with a pistol length gas system I am looking at a gas port that is .80"-.85" for reliable function with subsonics. Then I have a restricted port on the 3 position gas block for when I shoot supersonics. And even with a carbine length system on a 16" barrel getting a gun to shoot subsonics can be very finicky. And if you do get them to shoot subsonics, supers are now out of the question. At least not without the adjustable gas block. Dolomite

Every barrel is different so it is hard to make a guess as far as accuracy. There are too many other variables that can influence accuracy. Like free floated vs not. Shooting from bipod vs off a padded surface. The ammo itself and the shooter's abilities. Weather conditions. All these contribute to or detract from the accuracy potential. Make sure to follow the break in procedures and under ideal condition I would think sub .75" groups at 100 yards would be the norm. Dolomite

If you want I can give you the information for a guy that builds barrels to order. He uses McGowen blanks, which are great, and charges less that most other makers charge. He is going to build me a SS 16" barrel with a pistol length gas system in 300 blackout. His lead time is 2 weeks. He has been building custom caliber AR's for a very long time. He builds DI 9mm, 357SIG and 7.62x25 Tokarev AR's regularly and can do ANY caliber you might want. PM me and I will give you his info. He is a great guy to work with too. Dolomite

Some Walmart stores sell some very nice cases. They look like Pelican cases and have the pull and pluck foam. They are big enough for a couple of rifles and a pistol or two. They had them on sale on Black Friday for $60 but I do believe they sell for $100 normally. And for $100 they are a GREAT value. Dolomite

Those are caused by a shift in the space time continuim. You will probably hear about Elvis sightings as well as Napoleon. Seriously it is likely from the way the doppler radar reports. They spin around in a circle and can cause a pattern similar to this but I have never seen them that pronounced. In the very middle there is likely a doppler radar. Dolomite

Diet ended today or at least put on hold. I have been talking about Joe's for the last month and could not wait any longer. Tomorrow it is back to salad, chili and Cheerios. Dolomite

No he was one of us and has been for a while. He decided to make a troll account to spice things up I guess. Up until this stunt he had done nothing that would be alarming to any of us. He did have several accounts that he used. I will say he was NOT a benefactor otherwise he would have had to spend a lot of money on his accounts. Dolomite -
Welcome aboard. Hope to see you stick around. There are a lot of great people here with a wealth of knowledge to learn from. Dolomite

The culprit didn't have a lot of posts but everyone here would recognize his name as well as a few alias's. Dolomite -

Nothing EPIC about it. Some telling dumbass decided to incite the members of this board. I suspect he will be a thorn a few more times before it is all said and done. Dolomite -

I do believe they are taught that it is better to lay there and be raped rather than fight. I have even seen brochures condemning those who fight. I guess he can call 911 and "entertain" the rapist while waiting for the cops to show. As far as far as the definition. To him it is any black gun and they are all AK-47's or a Glock. Dolomite -

PM me if it isn't appropriate for here, I am married and I have no clue what Brita is. Other than the water filter but I suspect that isn't even remotely close to what you guys are referring to. Dolomite

Real men know how to use a gun and show their children how to do the same. Real men are compassionate yet can be merciless when need be.

I do believe what he said indicates he would not be a HCP holder. Can't blame the HCP holders for the actions of someone who doesn't have one. If he had a HCP he would be legal and not a criminal. Dolomite

Just got a proper belt. Wow what a difference!
Dolomite_supafly replied to 10-Ring's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yes, a great belt does make a HUGE difference. Sounds like you have a comfortable holster as well. I got tired of fighting with the 1911 holsters I had and made my own. It is so comfortable that my all steel full size 1911 is comfortable to wear. It also conceals very, very well. I have been using a thick leather belt for a while now. Before I had a riggers belt. I might pick up the belt you did. Dolomite -
When I think all is lost I just do a restore back a few days. Genreally takes care of the problem. As a matter if fact if I can't fix it within a few boots I do a restore. Dolomite

I hate to say it but you are probably right TMF. I think the back story is he is some sort of disgruntled seller or someone who cannot own guns any longer. Dolomite

If he has called you there is a record of the call. And wih the "alarming" emails you can contact LE and file a harrassment complaint. They can pull the records and find the guy. Also, you can swear to a warrant yourself and force their hand if LE doesn't want to get involved. You do not need a name to do so. That is how they get arrest warrants for crimes they have no witnesses to. Dolomite

Depending on the model they can have a serious case of trigger bite. You can put a pice of rubber hose over the trigger to help some. I thought I wanted one too until I bought one. Dolomite

It is good but the only problems I have heard of is in brand new guns. If it gives you problems it is likely that you gun ins't worn in yet. Dolomite

Anyone can file a civil suit against anyone else for ANY reason. Any suit filed must be heard by a judge even if it is frivolous. I know I would not trust my life or livelihood without an attorney. Even if the person filing the suit is 100% in the wrong and you are 100% right the suit will still find itself in front of a judge at least once. And you would be surprised how things can turn out if you don't show or you don't have an attorney by your side. I know the jurisdiction I worked for said that it cost them on average $15K to go before the judge and then have the case dismissed. I magine it would cost at least 1/3 of that for the average person to defend a frivolous lawsuit. Dolomite
