I am not being politically correct by not engaging in a conversation, I am avoiding conflict that may not end well. I have zero problems discussing anything with anyone. With that being said if I already know the outcome, because I have tried before, there is no sense in even starting that conversation. I value my friendships enough to not engage in a conversation that might end it, be it political, religious or about how blue the sky is. I have family members who will not talk to me because I don't share their beliefs. When people are passionate about thier beliefs feelings do get hurt and that is not something I enjoy. Everyone has their own individual beliefs and it has taken a lifetime to formulate those beliefs. Early on most of us had our beliefs taught to us by our parents or those close to us but as we grew we modified and changed those beliefs because of our life experiences. And each of us has a belief system that is as unique as our DNA and for most of us it is about as easy to change someone else's DNA as it is to change their beliefs. It is our beliefs that makes us unique as individuals. I have very religious friends and we respect our own views on life and how we live. We know where each of us stands and there is no need for each of us to try to convert the other which is what most often happens when a religious or political conversation happens between opposing beliefs, even seemingly identical beliefs. And what starts out as a normal conversation quickly turns into an argument over who is right when in reality we both are because our beliefs belong and make us who we are as individuals. It is when neither is willing to respect the other's beliefs that feelings get hurt and friendships end and no one is better for it. My choice not to bring up religion and politics isn't just because of a whim. It is because I have seen, first hand, that 9 out of 10 times it never ends well. I would prefer to loose a friend 0 out of 10 times by not having the conversation than 9 out of 10 times if I do. Dolomite

I agree. People are passionate about what they believe and I applaud anyone who is. Problem is when it is not welcome by someone else they get hurt that someone else doesn't feel as passionately about it. Among friends and family we do not discuss religion and politics. The reason is everyone has different opinions even when standing on the same side of the fence. Dolomite

I don't care what his intent was it was the fact it happened. Same as a car wreck, it didn't intend to happen but there are consequences to it. I don't have to prove his intent to try to prevent it from happening again. And it is different because it would take a bunch of posts by different members to accomplish what he did by himself. My straw, so to speak, was one morning when I opened TGO and hit the "new content" button. A significant portion of what I was looking at was his posts of copy and pasted videos. It isn't just his posts that are the problem. It is the fact that his posts were pushing people's for sale ads off the first page and when that happens the item is less likely to sell or at least as quickly. Dolomite

Fixed carry handle models are not very popular right now so you would be very hard pressed to sell it for $650 if you intend on reselling it. It is a gun put together by someone other than the factory and they generally do not garner the same amount of value as a factory built gun. Honestly I have seen DPMS hodge podge guns sell for under $600 regularly and on occassion under $500. I would view this one the same way. Complete, factory built, DPMS guns can be bought for under $600 at any Walmart now. You can also buy S&W AR-15's for under $700 as well. Dolomite

If you have any cycling issues, you shouldn't, replace the front recoil spring with a 16 pound 1911 spring. That is what is in the reliability package most vendors sell. That is what I run and mine cycles EVERYTHING. They are a great platform and mine will never leave my hands. Dolomite

I guess people think they are going to "bitch and complain" them into submission or until they shut them down. If people don't like the policy then don't go there but don't come on here and try to ruin them before they even open and that is idiotic. This is one of the rare times when I am really, really upset. The next person who tries to subvert Nashville Armory on here, especially before they open, will be gone. Dolomite

Doesn't matter. It is his insurance company that is making that decision for him. I am sure they wanted to allow reloads but unfortunately the insurance is the limiting factor, not the owner's decision. I am sure they did not want start out by limiting their customer base but it is what it is. I would rather have a nice, high tech range in my area that you can't shoot reloads in than to have no range at all. Also, they have been more than accomodating enough to us reloaders IMHO. These gentlemen have made a considerable investment of money, stress and time into starting this range. They are filling a gap and in this day and age of seeing ranges closing every single day it seems I am glad to see one opening for once. And even though I reload everything I shoot I would be glad to go there and buy factory ammo to support them in their endeavor. We, as gun owners (me included), like to complain a lot. Issues big and small we complain about often to no end. Sometimes it is warranted but in this case it is not. Think about this as well, they are supporting this site with their sponsorship. And without sponsors like Nashville Armory this site would likely not be what it is today. So before we go chastising a company, that supports us and the shootign sports, over something small we need to take a look at what they bring to the big picture. I am anal about the loading. I only have one powder off the shelf at a time. I only load one bullet at a time. And I write down the charge weight on my desk so I can constatnly remind myself of what it should be. Dolomite

I would rather have spare parts imported than guns. I would really like to find a complete bolt. Everything else I can get. Last ones I seen sold for $250 and they were gone in minutes. Dolomite

Now I will admit my memory isn't what is used to be and I forget a lot of stuff since my accident. Stuff I really shouldn't like names are really bad as well as my short term memory. When I go to sleep it is even worse because I forget a lot of the previous day when I wake up. But it isn't all bad that bad because when I open up TGO in the morning I find myself looking at what appears to be all new topics even though some already have a dozen pages of replies. And I get to relive the emotions and exploration of these "new" topics that I don't remember from the day before. It is like watching reruns for the first time but doing it over and over again. It is especially fun trying to remember what it was I posted in some of the threads before opening them up. I write or save everything important now otherwise I would go crazy. But in the end having a "new" TGO everyday isn't all that bad. Dolomite

And a real good chance you will never get it. And when you don't you have to fight to get your money back. I have placed several orders with Botach and have yet to receive a single one. The first one they billed immediately then when I called a few weeks later they items ahd been out of stock for a long time. Then I had to call another part of the company to get my money back. They said they would send a check. No check came. Called back and then they refunded it back to the card. All in all about 1 and a half months from the order to the refund. I honestly believe part of their business model is to charge knowing they will be issuing a refund but not before they get the interest off of your money. These are also the same company that defrauded the government out of millions of our tax dollars and put our soldiers in danger. The were supposed to supply new ammo to our allies in the middle east. What we got though was out of date and defective Chinese ammunition. Dolomite

A MG is going to see a lot more rounds and that is why they probably wear out quicker, not the heat. It is the blast at the case mouth that wears away the chrome lining at the throat not the heat. If it was the heat then the entire barrel would be relieved of its chrome lining and not just the throat. I am sure heat plays a part in it but I am also willing to bet that isn't the primary reason they wear out. Under extreme cases I am sure it is possible to blast the chrome from the bore but not with a DI AR because the gas tube will heat and burst long before the barrel gets that hot. I guess with a piston system it would be possible but that is a LOT of rounds on FA to get the barrel hot enough to loose ts chrome lining. In the article he says rapid fire shooting hastens the chrome removal but I believe it is from the round count more so than the heat. That is why they military is trying to devise a way to count rounds for maintanence. If it was heat that ruined barrels all of them would be a lot bigger in diameter and have cooling fins. And when I get ready to build my "crew served" AR soon it will have large OD barrels with fins reminiscent of a Tommy Gun. Look at the average round counts between a MG and a AR. The average MG probably fire 3x-4x more rounds than the average AR. That is why they wear out quicker. I am talking about normal use conditions. Not those times when the MG barrel is red, and nearly white, hot from firing. In those cases yeah heat probably does remove the chrome lining quicker but under "normal" firing rates I don't believe there is enough heat to remove the chrome from the bore any quicker. I have been on M60 ranges where the barrels were so hot you could see the bullet pass down the bore as it temporarily wicks the heat away from the barrel leaving a moving dark area that was visible from the outside. And in those cases there was a lot more sparks coming out of the muzzle than normal. This was no doubt part of the bore, the chrome lining as well as part of the bullet being vaporized. But that was with EXTREME firing rates, not normal firing tempos. So I will say that improper cleaning as well as the erosion of that blast at the throat removes the chrome more so than the heat. The dedicated CMMG lowers are $155 (with deaer discount). The Hahn, which is the best, magblocks run $160-$200 not including the cost of the lower. There is a plastic magblock out there but not sure I would trust it just yet. I have a freind that has the CMMG dedicated and it runs like a champ. I would go with a standard Colt pattern over anything else. As far as parting it out it will never happen. They are great guns and that is why you don't even see a used one for sale. Once you shoot it a few times you realize it is a keeper. Dolomite

It was actually a Garrison manufacturing kit. I used a Hahn dedicated block. I took the barrel and thinned it to reduce the weight. I recently added a Ranier Arms tube/rail, MFT grip, an offbrand stock, offbrand AFG and a trigger kit. It used to wear a Kobra red dot but recently went back to Magpul Irons. Before all the updates it had went through hell because we shot it all the time. It had a Hoge grip, UTG quad rails (which are pretty good BTW), several red dots and several stock. It also suffered a krylon paint job for the first 5 years we owned it. It also had a Magpul rifle length forearm stock set on it for a bit as well for a Dissipator look. At one point it was a take down gun as well. It would all fit in a briefcase sized box. Dolomite
