  1. That rug was handmade by my mother in law a long time ago. It will be around a long time regardless of how funky it might look. Dolomite
  2. Why do I need to know what is coming out of my shotgun at all times? Regardless of the shell type I will be aware of my target and what is behind it. I will fire until the threat is removed whether that is the first couple or the last couple of shells. Dolomite
  3. Had to edit out my toes They are up now. Dolomite
  4. Here is my final version of my 300 Blackout AR (I hope). Stainless 16.25" McGowen 8 twist barrel threaded 5/8-24 Home made 304 SS thread protector Pistol length gas system Stainless Paladin adjustable gas block Upper receiver squared to the bore Bolt with a McFarland one piece gas ring Carbine buffer and spring with custom delrin spacer Magpul MOE fixed stock Hogue pistol grip Nordic Components tube with top rail, clearanced for gas block access Cheap bipod Nikon P-22 scope with BDC Armalite rings Stock [wink, wink] trigger Magpul Pmags that have been clearanced for use with the 300 Blackout My 240g cast bullets, at 1,025 fps, mimic 22lr at 1,420 fps out to 200 yards. So it was a no brainer to use a scope that is ballistically matched to a 22 lr. With the adjustable gas block I can shoot anything from 800 fps subsonics to supersonics at a blistering 2,300 fps. It runs with subsonic handloads using Lil'gun, N110, 1680, 4227, 4198 and 2015. And because I cast my own bullets I can shoot this for less than most 22's. I can load each round for less than .06 each. Dolomite
  5. Some skeet ranges will only allow #8 shot or smaller...ie larger number like 9, 10 or 12. In my SD shotgun I have things loaded in this order. 1. 00 buck 2. 00 buck 3. #4 steel shot 4. 00 buck 5. #4 steel shot 6. Slug 7. Slug All of them are high velocity, high brass loads. No reduced recoil/velocity stuff. The slugs are for the longer distances. Because I am likely to encounter problems at shorter ranges that is why I use shot with slugs being the last. I also believe that the shot will not overpenetrate like slugs so those are also a reason why I chose them first. With that being said even #8 can be very, very devastating at close range like in most homes. Here is a very telling video. Dolomite
  6. As well as a few W's. Dolomite
  7. But with the previous "close" elections they have used the absentee ballots to sway the vote. I seem to recall it happening in past elections. Dolomite
  8. I can assure that anyone who tries to harm one of my dogs will be met with an overwhelming amount of force. They are my family and you may as well be shooting my wife or son because my response is going to be the same. They never leave our property unless they are leashed so if someone decides to "protect" themselves from our dogs they will no longer need to worry about the dogs. Especially if they are on my property when they decide to protect themselves from our pets. I liken domesticated animals to people in what they can get away with. If a person, or domesticated animal, becomes threatening you remove the threat. If they trespass you run them off and in no way are you allowed to shoot someone, or a domesticated animal, for trespassing. The thought of shooting a dog with a BB gun is reprehensible and actually against the law. With a BB gun it shows that the person has no intentions of removing a threat, only maiming or causing an animal to suffer and possible die a slow miserable death. There was an older gent in Walmart the other day looking for a pellet rifle to harm, and not kill, his neighbors dog. He was told by several people it was against the law. He insisted on buying a pellet rifle and the store clerk told him to go somewhere else. Really surprized me but glad they did it. Hope his neighbor catches him before he hurts his pets or beats him without mercy until LE shows up. Dolomite
  9. I guess they realized they were going to loose all kinds of customers. I just checked and I have AMC back. I called the other day and complained about loosing AMC. I made threats of leaving and now AMC is back. Now I can try to catch up on The Walking Dead and SoA. Dolomite
  10. Well, the UN is going to ensure the liberals are getting a chance to vote. Yes, the UN is sending observers here for the election. I didn't belive when I heard it last night but Google revealed they are sending 44 to observe. Dolomite
  11. I bet is shoots great patterns. Dolomite
  12. These are the same as Hesse and Vulcan. They have been junk for over a decade now and continue to be junk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SoAf7KqUt4&feature=related Enjoy. Dolomite
  13. http://www.state.tn.us/revenue/tntaxes/usetax.shtml Not as it seems. Dolomite
  14. Walmart's AR's are the same quality as any other seller gets. When they order an AR they do so from the same distributor as many other dealers. They are just as good as any other AR out there. You can tell your friend that he has nothing to worry about, he will get a quality gun at a decent price. You can also tell him his coworker is a fear monger and an idiot. Dolomite
  15. I am in Knoxville but I prefer you mail it rather than drop it off or something like that. I am talking about just the gas block, nothing else. If this is your first upper I would not buy a 14.5" gun with a permanently attached flash hider. Makes it too difficult to change things unless you use a clamp on gas block like YHM than can be completely removed without having to get over the flash hider. Dolomite
  16. You don't even need to take it off the gun. Just chuck the barrel in a vise then cut the front sight off about a 1/8" above the horizontal part that the gafs tube goes into. Then use a file or grinder to shape and smooth it. Tell you what, if you can get it off and mail it to me I wil help you out. I will even mail it back on my dime. I have done about a 1/2 dozen like this and really like how they turn out. Dolomite
  17. I bet the reason why O is so worried about his college transcripts and applications is because he likely received aid for being a foreign student or used false information. He is so full of lies and deceit that it is hard to tell what is truth or what is lies. Dolomite
  18. Definitely not Afghanistan. Other than cell phones and AK's 95% of the country are living like they did 500 years ago. Hell, the biggest advance they have made in the last millennia has be to not crap in their own wells. Dolomite
  19. If you already have an AR look at the 300 Blackout. It is being proven to be good on deer inside of 150 yards. Most people liken it to the 30-30 as far as range goes. Ammo is available as is everything you need to reload it if you choose to. They also make a Handi Rifle in 300 Blackout. It uses a youth stock and a short, ightweight barrel which would be perfect for a female shooter. Dolomite
  20. The Walther is a gun that will not last. The slide is made of pot metal, not even aluminum, and it has other issues as well. I watch the front sights pop off. The hammer springs break with regularity. It falls in the same category as the Sig Mosquito. I was told by the engineers at Sig that the Mosquito is designed to last 10K-15K rounds. That means if you shoot a brick of ammo a month, which is easy to do with a 22, the gun will be junk inside of 2 years. I have shot the Walther and it does feel good but I would rather have a durable, reliable gun than one that feels good. The Ruger MK series will last lifetimes because it is steel. The standard MK series, not the 22/45, has a all steel frame, steel receiver and a steel bolt. They will outlast any of us on this board and probably several generations of children. Heck it Ruger's first model was produced in 1949 and most are still as capable as the day they left the factory because they were 100% steel. Even the 22/45 will last a lifetime because all of the "working" parts are 100% steel. There are very few all steel 22's out there and of those the Ruger is the most popular because its price is reasonable. Dolomite
  21. CNN is reporting it: http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/24/us/libya-benghazi-e-mails/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 Maybe this is what the American people need to see to wake up. Dolomite
  22. If it is true it needs to be played on every single television and radio station. Dolomite
  23. For 55 grain I sould start out at 25.5 grains. I load 53 grain SMK's with 26.6 grains. That gives me 3,383 fps and is max. But starting at 25.5 should be fine. I use 25.8 grains for 62 grain bullets. Dolomite
  24. Although I have never been in their store I will also recommend D&T. They have some of the lowest prices I have seen. They also support this sight and its members with discounts. Dolomite
  25. Savage has actually started to produce a 22/410 again. It is brand new and has a lot of polymer furniture. It is a model 42 and seems very nice for the money. My Malmart had them for a reasonable amount. Dolomite
