I have done both and I cannot see a difference in accuracy. Accuracy has more to do with the individual barrel than the break in. Will what the OP did hurt? Absolutely not. I make sure the barrel is clean before the first shot is fired because sometimes there can be debris from machining. My most recent barrel is a McGowen so I followed their break in. They recommend the break in not to improve accuracy but to reduce fouling. I will say it is the cleanest barrel I have ever owned. It does not foul and has, so far, continued to shoot as well now as when new. Dolomite

You might be able to run a standard gas block if you are putting the port at the pistol location, which I think you are. You might be able to run both supers and subsonics without the need for an adjustable block. I would start by making sure supers will run then see if some subsonics will run. If you want I can give you some of my 240 grain cast to load. They use the same exact load data as a 220 grain SMK. If you want you can come out and we can hopefully find a subsonic load that works. I have about 5 different kinds of powder that work with mine. Everythign from super fast to super slow burning. The ATF needs to hurry up their responses to my questions. I am going to SBR a rifle and build a suppressor wither under a trust or under my name. I just need to see if a trust will work for what I want to do. Dolomite

There is a difference between spanking and abuse, a BIG difference. The idea of trying to reason with a young child is idiotic. Try reasoning with a two, three or four year old. Most don't have the language skills at that age to understand what you are even trying to say, much less understand your reasoning as an adult. They have ZERO attention span so by the time you finish one sentence they have forgetten the previous one. And because of that short attention span they need something just as short to deal with their negative actions. A quick swat on the butt, that likely won't even hurt but will startle them, along with a stern voice is what it takes to break their attention span. Some kids only need a spanking or two to correlate the tone of your voice to something bad. Heck some kids only need a quick "bark" at them to startle them into correction. Then after that all the child needs is the same tone of voice to stop them from doing what they are doing. Children need to be disciplined, some more than others. If you don't then you are making sure your child will likely fail miserably in life. It is our job as parents to ensure our children are ready for the brutal world we live in. And that takes discipline as well as letting your child fail as often as needed to motivate them. If you try to make it seem like life is all flowers and rainbows then they are more than likely going to be a failure. I get sick of hearing "there are no losers and we are all winners" because the reality is there are losers and there are winners. If you raise a child to believe he is always a winner he will be a failure some day and when that day happens reality will crush him or her. There is nothing wrong with spanking as long as it is applied with love. [/quote] Yes, I have shot a lot of .311" jacketed bullets down a .308" bore without issues as long as you work up accordingly. And a .308" bullet can be fired out of .311" bore without issue other than accuracy issues. That is the reason why most AK's over here shoot like crap anyways. The commercial ammo generally uses .308" bullets. I have measured a lot of them and I have yet to find one that uses the correct .311" bullet. Dolomite

I would make sure to do a pistol length gas system. Then use a "cheap" adjustable gas block to meter your "favorite" load so it cycles. I also believe this caliber is much more versatile than the 223. My gun will cycle with subs and supers. And with subs, when I get a can, it will be as quiet as my 22lr AR with a can. Dolomite

Realistically those that are going to loot are not going to travel outside of their own neighborhoods to do so. Looters can't loot unless they are on foot and they are not going to walk far. They are going to rob the liquor stores, cash advance places, pawn shops and the errant commuter in their own neighborhoods. As long as you let them do what they are going to do in their own neighborhood they will not venture out. I have zero worries about them coming to my house to loot. For when I need a oil based lube I use 50/50 ATF and synthetic oil. If I want cleaning properties I will add 10% fuel injector cleaner to the mix. For grease I use molybendum disulfide. Grease is what I use on rails and lugs. Dirt and debris will settle on top and not get worked in like with oil. Another advantage is the grease does not move. Dolomite

Shot ammo will NOT cycle semi auto's, regardless of caliber. If you must have multiple shots you need to use a revolver. Dolomite

If you ever have a problem, which you never will, they will make it right. I have yet to hear of one of their guns having issues. Is is a gun built by them or a lower that was built on? Makes a huge difference IMHO. Dolomite
