1.
Either you didn't read the thread or didn't understand what was being said as no one was advocating "giving criminals guns".
Huh.... The OP was advocating giving gun rights to criminals. And as far as I was aware once convicted of a crime, even domestic violence, you ARE a criminal. Now maybe we live on two worlds but in my world someone who has been convicted or pleads guilty to a crime is a criminal. Dolomite
2. You are using too much Alox. Take 1/2 your bullets and add the amount you think is enough. Tumble lube them then add the rest of the bullets and tumble. They should not be sticky at all. If they are you are using too much. Normally you can't really see a difference in color between lubed and not lubed. Just the lubed ones look duller. Dolomite
3.
Rusty, Maybe I am just being nieve but I doubt that there would be any reason for someone I was hosting to rob me, considering I am more than willing to provide as much assistance to them & their family as I possibly could.
You are being naive. In a true SHTF situation they are going to rob or kill you for your stuff. Heck, people rob and kill when it isn't a SHTF situation. And if you let a few people know you have food, shelter and supplies you are going to have 10x that actually show up. Kind of like that discreet highschool party. And when you have to turn away some people things are going to go south very quickly. Or those you tell could pass it on to bad guys to save their own skin and then the bad guys will rob or kill you for your stuff. I would not advertise or let anyone know what you have. You will have plenty of chances to help the needy that wonder by you place. Remember the key to survivng is to not become a target. Keep you and your supplies hidden. And as much as I hate to say it you need to suspend your compassion if you want to survive. Dolomite
4. I have seen it time and time again. Members here will seek out and spend money with our vendors here before looking elsewhere. I have suggested to numerous vendors, who had no clue we existed, to look around the board. Some of them even become vendors. When I went back and spoke to those that did they all said it was well worth it. We are a family here and just like in the real world we are going to take care of our family. But unlike real world families we welcome and embrace strangers around here. I think you would be surprized how little a vendorship costs relative to the exposure and business you will receive. 5. SMP 842 is a powder that I have tested and will work with both. I use it to shoot 150 grain bullets in 300 Blackout to 1,650 fps. That is about 300 fps short of the same bullet with an ideal powder. But it will lock back and function. There are several powders that will work with the 223 and heavy 300 blackout loads. I have used H4198 and AA2015 with heavy bullets and both work well with the 223. I have not tested these powders with lightweight bullets as of yet. BTW, Lil'Gun works better for lightweight bullets, and heavy bullets, than H110. Dolomite
6. What weight bullets you plan on shooting with the 300? There are several powders that work for both but what is ideal for one is not ideal for the other. I woudl recommend getting a powder for the 223 and a powder for the 300. I can steer you towards what powders work for both if I know what weight bullets you plan on shooting. Dolomite
7. You just need to work a little harder at fitting in. Maybe you need to invite your neighbors over for some lawn mower races and Pabst Blue Ribbon then afterwards throw some squirrel and raccoon up on the grill. Or how about a friendly pig or duck calling competition. Maybe a friendly front yard production of "wrastlin" for them to watch as they get home from work. I just think you need to try harder to make them fit in. Dolomite
8.
Unfortunately the solution is to do things like the Keystone Pipeline and drilling here. If (which I highly doubt) that were to ever happen, it would be entertaining to see how long those countries tried to hold us hostage as 75% of their GDP completely disappeared.
Yes but they do not rely on our money as much as we do their oil. Dolomite
9. When Israel gets attacked by Palestine Obama will declare his support for Israel by seeking embargoes against Palestine. This will only be during the war, not before or after. He will not raise a finger against any Muslim country in Israel's defense, including Palestine. Then Israel will make public statements against the US for not honoring their promise of support. Then Obama will declare it will no longer support Israel as a recognized independent state. Obama is looking for a reason to distance itself from Israel and this may be what he needs. Or Obama will just get on televsion three months from now and say he had no clue Israel was being attacked. Dolomite
10. I actually prefer the taste of wild game over the bland taste of farm raised. Anyone who has had wild turkey will confirm this. Dolomite
11. Every kid needs to have a dog when they are growing up. They need to have all kinds of great lifelong memories about their adventures. This man has taken that and replaced it with sadness because no matter how many dogs those kids will have they will ALWAYS remember the time their dog was shot and killed. He should never forget it either. Be it because he is in jail of because he is forced into financial hardship. I would have had a hard time acting with restraint had I been confronted with the same situation. Dolomite

13. I know I don’t need to explain myself and not really sure it matters to some of you why I did what I did but here goes. First off let me start by saying that we are a family oriented site and do our best to maintain that image. And sometimes in order to maintain that image some posts do need to be edited or deleted. It happens regularly and 99% of the time it goes unnoticed by the members here. As far as why I deleted the link it was not emotion driven, at least not when I deleted it. Yes, as the thread dragged on I did get a bit emotional about it just like many other members here. And just because I am a moderator here does not mean I have to or that I even need to turn off my emotions and become a moderating zombie of sorts. Anyone who has come to me with a problem knows I have a true concern for them and their problems. Without any emotion, as some of you have suggested I should be, I would not be able to do that. I truly am concerned for everyone on this board like any family. Remember that care, concern and compassion are emotions just like disgust is an emotion. For me the link was not a gun or 2[sup]nd[/sup] amendment issue even though it morphed into that. Anyone who knows me knows I am pro gun. Again, for me the link was not a gun rights issue but a domestic violence issue. When it was posted and I first saw it I had two options. Leave it or remove it. Trust me when I say I struggled with it for a bit. Then I realized there really isn’t a gray area when it comes to domestic violence or the abusers themselves. If I were to leave it up then by inference anyone who might come and visit this board might see me, as well as the board, as supporting domestic violence and the damage it does. Remember, people are not going to see the petition as a gun rights issue but as a domestic violence issue. They might also view the members here who didn’t speak out against it as supporting domestic violence in some way. And I, for one, do not want to be associated with or be accused of supporting anything related to domestic violence. Now on the other hand if I removed the link this is what would happen. It prevents anyone who might come and visit the site from ever questioning the stance the board has on domestic violence. And by deleting it that would also show it how we, as the TGO family, feel about domestic violence. So for me I felt that by leaving it up nothing good could come of it. Remember this is not a gun issue but a domestic violence issue. Domestic violence is a violent crime that has serious, long term emotional and sometimes physical effects on the victims. It affects their self esteem, self worth, confidence but most importantly it also affects those who are most likely to witness it, the children. Children mimic what they see and will grow up to do the same thing their parents have taught them. This only perpetuates the domestic violence problem. And I would hope we all agree that domestic violence is heinous and uncalled for under any circumstance. And we all should distance ourselves from anything that can be viewed as a pro domestic violence stance. Remember, a person with ONE post came on here with an agenda. He was either trying to garner support for his own, individual situation that we have no clue about or he was just trolling to create turmoil amongst our TGO family. Either way it seems like a complete stranger has been successful on one or both counts. I do not hold grudges, I do not hate and I try to treat everyone here equally. Besides my memory is so bad that I wouldn’t be able to remember who I have a grudge against and who I don’t so I just don’t hold a grudge. Those that reported me I am not upset or out to get you. I welcome anyone who feels there is a problem with the board to hit the report button so we can address it, not just for you but for everyone. I just needed to get this out there for people to see my reasoning. Please do not turn this into the same discussion as the previous thread, that is not why I posted this. Dolomite
14. Walmart sells DPMS 308 AR's for $897 now. I have seen them in several Walmarts in my area. Dolomite
15. I am intentionally going to stay out of it now. I have been a part of too much drama this week. My drama meter pegged yesterday for the week and likely the rest of the month. I will say this there are a few since my last response that have said some stuff I would have never expected. Dolomite
16. I have done a lot of traning with simunitions. They are very realistic and they do hurt. They generally work well and have a pretty good range to them. I know we were landing aimed shots at 25+ yards. During one of the training sessions we had been using pink markers and we were all dressed in business attire. Afterwards one guy had a HUGE red spot on his arm. I said I think you are bleeding and he said it was just the marker. I told him it was too big for the marker. When he pulled his shirt up we noticed it had cut a perfect circle in his skin. It was bleeding pretty good. He did say he had been shot pretty close quarters. I would not have a problem doing this. Your adrenaline gets pumped up pretty high because you know you ARE going to get hurt. Dolomite
17. They want to remain as neutral as possible. I guess for donations. I have contacted them in the past and never got a response. Then my wife pointed out their financials and that was it for me. There are much better organizations out there to help veteran's and their families. They started out with great intentions of helping injured veterans. They are now in the business of making money and using injured veterans as a means to provide a source of income to support that business. Dolomite
18. Yeah, I went back and actually looked at the co sponsors. This is going no where. Dolomite
19. He needs to be charged with animal cruelty as well. Then they need to take his social security while he is in jail, which it should be anyways, as well as while he is on probation. How ironic would it be that he could only afford dog or cat food to eat. Then require him to do his community service at a local animal shelter cleaning up their crap. And finally he needs to be required to walk next door every single day and appologize to the children until they find another dog. I hate that this happens and I wish the old man could feel some of the parent's pain. I mean it is so heart wrenching as a parent to watch your child be miserable over something. What makes it worse is when you cannot do anything to fix it. The parent(s) are strong people for not kicking the old man's ass and they probably did that for their kids to see how to be responsible. The old man is a weak minded individual that probably thinks he is entitled to do stuff like this because he is old. Being old doesn't give you the right to something like this, nothing does. 20.
Has this been through the House, already? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
http://www.govtrack....bills/112/s3525 Not as of yet but it doesn't look good with all the cosponsors. It probably will not pass on its first reading but it is already pretty popular. Dolomite
21. I also posted this Robert "Now I will say on rare occassions that the innocent are wrongly found guilty but it is a rarity and not the norm. " Dolomite
22.
Whether or not we agree with the subject, without him violating a specific rule, deleting the post on a board the encourages personal freedom and speaking for what you believe in is very disturbing to me. While I don't believe in the hurting or touching a woman in any violent or non consensual manner, I saw a lot of consensual sex get turned into rape cases if they got caught in the barracks when I was in. I have seen all to often how quickly a scorned woman can ruin a mans life and career when he did nothing wrong.
And if the accused plead guilty or was found guilty then they are guilty. We have a legal system and as fouled up as it may seem at times it is the law. I met all kinds of criminals that proclaimed their innocence. Now I will say on rare occassions that the innocent are wrongly found guilty but it is a rarity and not the norm. All those who were brought before their command had the option of trial by court martial but they chose to accept their punishment at the company level.
It is you choice not to support that! But you are denying others their choice of supporting it, or not!
Go find the petition and and show your support for it. I am not denying you the ability to support it. Dolomite
23. Because I am not going to support anything that improves the life of an abuser. Hit the report button if you feel that strongly about it. Dolomite
24.
If Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, George Washington and the gang had that attitude we would be subjects to the British Monarchy. Through creeping socialism and the growth of the nanny state we have created a nation of pathetic "american idol" worshipping sheepish slaves to the fedgov. Rugged Independent Americans that can think for themselves and have a job have to pay for it. We are no longer the land of the free and home of the brave. That is a joke. Secession is the answer. Libertarian principles of limited govt and personal freedom would make the new Republics work.
You are no patriot. You are going to give up on the country when they need us most. You will not be able to do s single thing to effect change if you are no longer a citizen of the US. What did you do, other than just vote, to forward your candidate and his way of thinking? To me those who want to secede have denounced their US citizenship and should have all the perks of being a citizen removed. After all if you no longer want to be a part of this country or the political process you should not benefit from it either. Imagine how many would be crying right now if they were told they are no longer a US citizen and not allowed to vote? Or told they would not be eligible to receive the federal income tax return or their retirement. Or they were cut off from the unemployment benefits? Those wanting to remove themselves from the US go right ahead. There are plenty of other countries that will gladly take an American patriot. Dolomite
25. One more thing if the victim posts the bond for the subject then all charges are to be dropped. Dolomite
