They order from the same distributor as any other dealer. And the distributor grabs the gun Walmart ordered just like they would for any other dealer. The Colt you get is the same exact gun as you would get from any other dealer. Anyone who has told you Walmart guns are inferior is an idiot. That was a rumor started by crooked, lying dealers to try to boost their own sales. Dolomite
We amended the House Bill to include language that required the prevailing party in such a suit to receive their legal expenses from the looser, to preclude that very thing.
But if the person loosing doesn't have the funds topay those expenses then what do they have to loose by filing a frivolous lawsuit. I have been a victim and never received any of the court ordered restitution because the person was "too poor" to pay. And when we finally did receive something as part of the restitution the other person petitioned the courts and the retitution was returned to them. I have yet to see one red cent of the court ordered restitution. Dolomite -
Buffer tube question
Dolomite_supafly replied to TrickyNicky's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
A milspec tube will accept ANY stock out there. With a commercial stock it might rattle and such but it will work just fine. As far as durability there is no difference between a commercial and a milspec tube. As a matter of fact a commercial tube has a larger OD while the ID is the same making the wall thickness larger on the commercial tube. The wall thickness on a true milspec tube is .073 while the wall thickness on a commercial is .085. It also has additional strength because there is extra material next to the stock adjustment channel. So the commercial tube is going to be stronger and, IMHO, better than milspec. Also, the commecial tube has more positions than a milspec tube. A true milspec tube only has 4 positions while commercial tubes have 6. Not all things milspec are the best. Have you tried the stock yet? I have several milspec stocks that work on commercial tubes but are a little tight. This reduces the movement and rattles. Dolomite -
New here. Couple of pics to get started.

Good looking sticks. Welocme aboard. Dolomite -
Looks great. What scope is that? I can see it is a Barska Did you do any adjusting of the gas block? I have my Paladin and I am not 100% sure I like it. I am thinking about going to a standard adjustable block and make a custom adjustment screw. The only thing keeping me from doing it is I milled out access in my float tube for the Paladin. If I change gas blocks that means the float tube modification was done for nothing. Dolomite

Passing this law is going to change what? Employers will still be able to fire employees for any reason. All it will do is clog our legal system with false claims of being fired for having a gun in their car at work. Dolomite -
Yes I do. And it is picking up again. I heard my brother screaming at our mother a few days ago. My mother finally came back home after living in Wisconsin for about 6 months. Just a matter of time before he does something stupid again. I wish they would call the cops every time he beats them up but they are too scared to as well as the fact I think they kind of enjoy being victims. I hope they just stay out of my life because it is so much quieter when they do. Dolomite

And that is a good post to end the thread on. Dolomite

What has likely happened is the block was milled to spec than as it was annodized it built up enough to cause a problem. Roll pins are designed to flex and give as they go in. Dolomite
-
Did you guys use a roll pin punch? They have a tit on the end of the punch, to keep the roll pin centered, and a square shoulder, to keep the roll pin from flaring out. I generally don't use then but they are very handy for those tough ones. Dolomite

Just buy cheap 7.62x39. You cannot find reloadable cases in quantity to make it worth the effort. If I wanted good ammo I bought the cheapest stuff I could find and tore them down. I used the cases only then used quality components. For 223 you can load blaster ammo about as cheap buying Tula but your reloads will be magnitudes better. For accurate ammo it is a lot cheaper to reload than buy. My "match" ammo cost .28 a round to load and to buy anything comparable was 3x as much. Components for 223 are going to be a lot cheaper. Be it brass or bullets. Dolomite

Why should I care when I do not fall under their jurisdiction? Heck, I bet i could find some decision from a Congalese court that would have as much jurisdiction over me as the 10th. Until it is a decision by a court over me it is not relevant. Dolomite -
Still waiting for someone to explain, using the Constitution, how the 10th District got it wrong. I'm also waiting for someone to make a convincing argument for why this law should not be passed Tennessee without falling back on the court rejected property rights argument. Can you measure the ID of the free float tube? And if you want pick up some 220 SMK's and come on out. I will supply the rest of the components to make sure it is running right. We can also shoot across the chronograph to get velocities. That way you can figure out drop tables and such. Measure the OAL without the KX3 and if it is over 26" then you can legally add a vertical foregrip, if that is something you like. Dolomite

I have purposely avoided this thread because every couple of months when the topic comes up it goes south. Those who carry a firearm are not a protected class of citizens and should never be. They should have the same rights afforded to them as those who carry a cell phone or wear a hat because just like those who carry a cell phone or wear a hat, carrying a firearm is a choice. I don't hear backlash about all the places that limit cell phone use. Using a cell phone, just like carrying a gun, is just a choice. There is a HUGE difference between choosing to do something and being born or having an accident that forces you to become something you cannot change. There is a difference. Let me start by saying the property owner should have the choice in what he does with his property, who is on it and how those on it act. No matter how much we want to force our own will upon others it should never be allowed to happen. This should apply to employers as well because they should be allowed to dictate who are employees and how those employees act. Carrying a firearm on private property is not guaranteed by any ammendment of the Constitution. Just as no other ammendment of the Constitution is guaranteed on private property. This has ZERO to do with the Constitution because the Constitution does not apply to private entities, only to the government in order to prevent their abuses. The property owner can dictate what conditions must be meet in order to be on his property, be it no firearms or a full auto machine gun. You also have no right to be free of unreasonable search. Employees are drug tested, which is a search, as a condition of employment and whether or not you carry a firearm on the company property can be a condition of employment. When we start forcing one group of property owners to do something with their private property they don't want to it will not be long before that makes it over into our property rights. I also believe this should be part of the law and I wrote everyone in Nashville about it. First and foremost hold those actually breaking the law responsible and if a jury finds that a firearm could have prevented the damages then the criminal is the first line of who is to pay restitution. If the criminal is unable to make restitution then the remainder will fall on the property owner who refused to allow you to protect yourself. But only on his property as he has no control on what goes on outside of his property. I also would like to also see in the law that the employer cannot be sued for firing an employee for violating company policy regarding firearms. I think people are going to get fired if this law does pass and this will prevent all the costs and burdens on the court system. Employees have a choice, just like a company rule that says a tie must be worn or they must pass a drug test. You either choose to follow the company rules or be fired. If you do not agree with the rules set by the property owner or your employer then do not enter their property. If that means you have to find another job then so be it. Everyone here is very opinionated about this, well put your money where your mouth is and quit your job. Problem is people are not strong enough to do anything about it in real life. If enough of the employees walk out maybe the business owner will change his stance. I know I walked away from a job because of my convictions, several as a matter of fact, and it has always worked out better for me. I wish we could all carry whenever and wherever we want but the fact of the matter is we can't and never will be able to do so. Dolomite -
Thanks Dolomite, I had started getting boxes of AR rounds at Academy the Monarch boxes they have at 4.99 or so. A friend said he wasn't how sure they would cycle thru unlike the AK. Makes since that surplus should run fine, but they are made by the ruskies!!!!! Flyboy
Ammunition made in Russia is NOT surplus. It is cheap junk made as cheap as possible for our market. It will function fine in some guns but it has been known to cause problems in others where American made ammo run 100%. By surplus I am talking about the M855 rounds found at Walmart or other retailers, not imported ammunition. Dolomite

Question regarding protection property?
Dolomite_supafly replied to CM1021's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have been reading some of TN's laws and found this. (a) A person in lawful possession of real or personal property is justified in threatening or using force against another, when and to the degree it is reasonably believed the force is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate the other's trespass on the land or unlawful interference with the property. ( A person who has been unlawfully dispossessed of real or personal property is justified in threatening or using force against the other, when and to the degree it is reasonably believed the force is immediately necessary to reenter the land or recover the property, if the person threatens or uses the force immediately or in fresh pursuit after the dispossession: (1) The person reasonably believes the other had no claim of right when the other dispossessed the person; and (2) The other accomplished the dispossession by threatening or using force against the person. © Unless a person is justified in using deadly force as otherwise provided by law, a person is not justified in using deadly force to prevent or terminate the other's trespass on real estate or unlawful interference with personal property. [Acts 1989, ch. 591, § 1; 2009, ch. 194, § 1.] Now while this says you may use force it doesn't say deadly force. So what is everyone's thoughts on this?
Not really sure I understand what you are asking. You cannot use deadly force to protect your property or prevent trespassing. The only time deadly force can be used is to protect yourself or another from having deadly force used upon you or another. You cannot shoot someone for trespassing unless they are threatening you with deadly force while trespassing. Dolomite -

Non fogging shooting glasses?
Dolomite_supafly replied to TrickyNicky's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Again, the New View is amazing stuff. They sell it in a small container for like $4 or you get a HUGE one for $10. I opted for the $10 container and it will not last a lifetime because I use it every day. Dolomite -
If you are a serious user avoid DPMS. They are "ok" for the person who shoots a few hundred rounds a year. As far as the 300 you can get everything you need to reload for well under $200. That is EVERYTHING. Components can be bought cheap enough that you can reload for under .15 a round or $3 per box of 20. Remember that is buying your bullets, powder and primers. If you really want to save start casting. The equipment to cast is under $80 or you can melt you lead in a $5 pot on the grill and use a $10 dipper to pour lead into your $25 mold. And when you start casting it costs under .06 a round or $1.20 per box of 20. For a long time I swore never to own a 300. I was thinking what is the point. I would even argue that the 300 is nothing special. Now that I have owned a few I will say it will alsways be part of my stable of calibers. It can do everything and so much more than the 223. Non fogging shooting glasses?
Dolomite_supafly replied to TrickyNicky's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
At the recent show here in Knoxville there was a guy selling some stuff called New View or Vue. Or something close to that. It was a pink liquid that you smear all over your glasses and then wipe away. This stuff is pretty amazing. No fogging at all and the best part is it also fills in small scratches. My glasses are clearer than that have been in a long time. I was getting ready to go get new glasses because fot eh small chips and scratches (I am hard on my glasses) but with this stuff I think I can get a lot more use out of them. Dolomite -
