By definition a firezrm that fires more then one shot with a single pull of the trigger is a machine gun. That is why single trigger double barrels fire the barrels seperately and not at the same time. A standard double barrel can fire two shots at the same time but it requires a seperate trigger to be pulled for each. Crimson is right, if they had a seperate trigger for each barrel then it would be legal. Dolomite

It will never be sold in the US. It is a newlt manufactured machine gun so it can only be sold to LE and Gov't types. Dolomite

922r and who it applies to
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Believe me it COULD be enforced. Think agents can't be on a public range and ask to verify compliance? They absolutely can and do verify compliance with all kinds of federal laws. Your analogy is not the best. You can pick and choose to have a gun that is not in compliance with 922r but you cannot choose what you dream about. Also, there is no way for the ATF to verify whether your dreams are in red but they can 100% verify if the firearm in your possession is in compliance with 922r. Dolomite -
People always have the capacity to kill another human being, unless they are in chains or don't have limbs. If a person convicted of a violent crime is released and still bent on killing somebody else, they will, whether it be with a gun, knife, pointy stick, backhoe, or a sucker punch with their bare hands. Laws will do nothing to stop it. It's the same simple argument we use against gun control all the time. If they're gonna kill somebody, they will regardless. If they're not, they won't even if they own a whole arsenal. Short version: If not in jail or on probation, rights should be restored.
Most criminals, at least those who are violent that I have met, have self control issues plus a ton of other issues. If the criminal is not carrying a firearm then he has to go look for one. Hopefully it can delay the urge to kill long enough that the would be killer may realize what he is about to do and change his mind. Robertnachville, under what circumstances should a person loose his rights? Dolomite

Hard to beat David's prices. ~$100 for 5,000 primers. Also, what are you loading? There are plenty of grewat surplus powders out there for the 223. Dolomite

Do what you want but I spoke to two seperate agents and got the same exact answer. You are more than welcome to call for yourself, (304) 616-4500. Just tell the secretary you need clarification on a law. I promise they will not come kick your door in and shoot your dog. I talk to them at least once a month for clarifications. Dolomite -
I had distiller typed out then deleted it. Dolomite

No clue but it looks like it is in mint condition. Dolomite

The most common thing I have seen cause problems is the extractor spring. Normally heat is what kills it. The disconnect is probably the next item I see fail. Hammer springs can and do fail but it takes a long time. Cam pins also crack over time. Any AR should be able to go 5K without any issues and most will go beyond 10K without anything major breaking. BTW, I have seen bolts shear locking lugs off. They will continue to run fine although I would replace it as soon as possible. Dolomite

Is this going to be a HD gun or primarily just for sporting. Dolomite

How close are you to Knoxville? Dolomite -
I don't think he meant 10'. I think he probably meant 100' or maybe 100 yards. Dolomite

I agree. They should loose their clearances as well as their job if they hold a government job. If they signed it as a military member then they should be booted out under dishonorable conditions. If you signed the petition then, to me, you have denounced your willingness to remain a citizen of the United States. If you think the US is so bad that you feel you need to leave through secession then you probably need to go ahead and leave the country anyways. After all you have given up on the democratic process that we would have cheered had your chosen candidate won. Dolomite

What I do to figure out the maximum range is set the target up at 50 yards. The target you use should be the same size as the intended target. I start by shooting a single shot at 10 yards. I fire then I count and mark my hits on target. Then I move back to 15 yards and shoot again. Then to 20 yards. Once I miss the target with at least one pellet I consider that as the maximum effective range. At least for self defense purposes. Dolomite

NYPD officer gives barefooted homeless man new boots
Dolomite_supafly replied to NRA's topic in General Chat
But wait, this can't be true because ALL officers are bad people. It has to be staged or something. I know what it is, the officer is "planting" the boots on the homeless guy's feet to arrest him for theft. It doesn't take a lot to change a persons day, month or even their year. And you can find all kinds of needy people right now. Those simple boots could have saved the guys life or at a minimum his feet from frost bite later in the year. $75 isn't a lot and all of us would agree that the money was well spent. Now is the time to do random things to help your fellow man. My wife and I do it, but not as often as we probably should or have in the past. I really doesn't take a lot to help someone. And it doesn't even take any money to help, we all have old jackets or clothing that can be either donated or given directly to change change lives. Dolomite -
I can guarantee I will use every tool and every ounce of being to get my stuff back up to intentionally taking a life. And the reason I won't intentionally take a life is because of some moral obligation to let a criminal live but because I cannot provide for or protect my family if I am in jail. Dolomite

ticketed/towed away for parking in front of a garage?
Dolomite_supafly replied to Sam1's topic in General Chat
The way I see it they are messing with your livelihood. They could cost you your job and put your family out on the street in this economy. I would approach it knowing they are INTENTIONALLY trying to toss you out on the street. You have warned them plenty so I say tow them when they park there. I would even say tow them even if they are not inconveniencing you but are parking in front of your garage. A few $300 tow/storage bills and they will learn. I would try really had to have the apartment manager have them towed. They DO have a person of authority living in the apartment, usually a police officer. They let them stay there free of charge or at a reduced rate. In return the officer "watches" the place as well as serves eviction notices for the management. Might ask the management who their "coutesy officer" is for the apartment. That is what they call them around here. I would also make sure they cannot call and have you towed out of retaliation. Am I measuring this correctly?
I just zero my calipers on a projectile ... automatically figures the math and then mesure from outside to outside which is easier than c to c unless you have overlays.. Also I have read there is a program you can download that you scan your targets and it figures it all for you and is exportable so you can post the pic that way too..
http://www.6mmbr.com/ontargetsoftware.html It is an amazing piece of software. The only thing is you need to have something at least an inch in length to make sure you get the scae right. Pretty sure you can just take a picture of the target and import it. I always scan and catalog my targets. Dolomite -

How is this NOT illegal. Dolomite -
You would also be surpised how durable Krylon is once it has cured for a month or so. Once cured it is miserable to get off without some sort of blaster. You can soak it overnight in acetone or MEK. Something else I use a lot is chalkboard paint after another member tried it. My thought f it is durable enough for chaulk then it is durable enough for most guns. It has something in it that makes it very, very durable. It dries to a nice finish and is impervious to heat. I normally spray the parts, let the air dry then bake them at 300 degrees for a few hours. Dolomite
I would use Brownells Gunkote in an aerosol can. Prep is everything with Gunkote. I have used it dozens of times and has turned out great. The wear is good as well as one gun I did was carried everyday for about 6 months without any signs of problems. If you have a compressor, even a small one, you can buy small hand held media blasters for less than $15 at Harbor Freight or Northern Tool. If not most automotive shops have blast cabinets and would probably let you use it for either a small fee or free if they think what you are doing is interesting. If all else fails then, as you said, you can use sand paper to roughen the surface. Use gloves and safety glasses for everything. To keep your skin oils off the parts and to keep potentially harmful stuff off of you and out of your eyes. Here is what I do: Disassemble the parts to be coated as completely as you can Clean and degrease all the parts the best you can using non-chorinated brake cleaner Media blast or sand all the parts to be coated (I used medium aluminum oxide from Northern Tool) Bring a pot of 1/2 gallon distilled water and 1/2 gallon Simple Green to near boil As the bubbles start to form remove from heat, letting it sit for a minute or so to allow the temp to equalize Place the parts to be coated in the Simple Green solution and let it sit for about 15 minutes ***Do not breath the steam*** Stir the parts occasionally to help break any oils loose At the same time start boiling some distilled water and turn your oven on its lowest setting When it starts to boil remove from heat, letting it sit for a minute or so to allow the temp to equalize Remove the parts from the Simple Green solution and place in the distilled water for another 15 minutes ***Do not breath the steam*** Remove the parts from the water and place them in the oven long enough for all the water to evaporate Remove the parts one at a time, not all at the same time, and coat them according to the instructions
**If you remove them all at the same time and the first ones will be warmer than the last ones causing them to look different** Make sure you spray outside though because it is some pretty nasty stuff, both smelling and bad for you. After all parts are coated with Gunkote place them back in the oven at the recommended temp for the recommended time. I normally put the parts in then set the temp to the 300 degree temp it requires. Once it gets to temp I time off an hour then turn off the oven and let the parts cool slowly in the oven over the course of a few hours. Because the finish is already dry when you begin the baking process it doesn't emit any nasty smells in the oven. This is the down and dirty way I have done it for the last few years and works great. I have only done handguns and small parts but I have went thru at least 4 cans of Gunkote so far. If you have any quesitons feel free to ask. Dolomite
If the manager was in the wrong for pursuing the thief and dragging him to the ground in the first place then anyone helping him in the resulting fight is also in the wrong.
Please tell me what law the manager broke? He didn't. Breaking company policy is far from breaking the law. I say charge the shoplifter with shoplifting, assault as well as murder. After all someone did loose their life while he was committing his crime. That way it would prevent any insurance payouts or other benefits his relatives might be entitled to,including social security benefits for relatives. I think if he was also found guilty it would prevent a win on the civil suit side by those filing on his behalf. Dolomite
