2. If you are going to argue amongst yourselves take it to PM's or I will lock the thread to save some hurt feelings. Dolomite
3. Ok guys I said I would never post this but here goes.   Last year I bought a bunch of 1/4" ceramic tile for .59 each. They were 1' square and I bought them with the intent of seeing how well they would work for stopping bullets. I took two pieces and sandwiched a 1/4" piece of foam between them. The foam is for standoff to the the bullet fragment before hitting the second plate. I set them up with a tshirt over it and leaned agaist a carboard box. I shot it with 223, 45 ACP and 9mm. The 223 bullet material barely made it through and was lodged inside the cardbard. The 9mm and 45 ACP were stopped by the second plate.   This is not to be interpreted as being a good option as a lifesaving device. If you use it as such you will likely die. Do not attempt to do what I did because what I did was stupid, dangerous and I am lucky I did not put an eye out or worse.   But as a end of times means of providing SOME protection it might work. Even a single plate will likely cause the bullet to fragment, reducing its energy. I am going to make some more except this time I am going to wrap it in fiberglass and shoot it with 7.62x39.   Dolomite
4. That is what makes thsi place great. Everyone helps everyone else out.   On most other boards people view knowledge as a power that must be held close but in reality the real power is when you are able to share it.   Dolomite
5. I have over 3,500 rounds through my "cheap" 1911 and have never had a single reliability issue. I will say that I did go through it and added about $200 worth of parts for reliability and accuracy.   Dolomite
6. There are people who have been on here that I didn't have to meet or get to know in order to determine they were a POS (not directed at you Robert). And in Yeager's case it doesn't take a lot when he throws it out for everyone to see.   And as I have said before the problem I have isn't so much his actions during the ambush but what he did afterwards as well as how he acted prior to it. And what I was told about him lines up perfectly to how he acts in all of his videos. So I have no choice but to believe those souces I trusted.   Hard to know how any of us are going to act or predict an outcome to something like that. Getting injured or coming out unscathed in a situation like that is pure luck. Those that died were hit in the initial volley of fire so no matter what James did the outcome was likely going to be the same even if he did everything 100% right. But another problem I have is taking the bad and adding insult to injury by blaming the dead. To me that is disrespectful to the dead as well as the families they left behind.   Doing good in a community still doesn't change what he is. There have been a lot of really bad people who did good in their community.   Dolomite
7. The hose in the 4th pic has to be a crew served hookah pipe.   "Loader ready!"   "Fire"   "Ahh"   Dolomite
8. And it was probably built for a few thousand. That is what will make it special. Five of these built for under $25k would sink one of our $100k hummers. That is how we won the tank battles in WWII. Our Shermans were easy pickings for the panzers but we had dozens of Shermans to a few panzers. Dolomite
9. I use the chop saw from Harbor Freight. Works great. Then it is size and trim like normal. Dolomite
10. I have never heard of the MIOX but now I am lookking pretty hard at it. I can buy rechargeable CR123's and use my solar to charge them. I am going to 12V LED's if I loose power long term. I will isolate all the 110v off the house grid as well as isolate my house from the public grid. Then I will just plug in my batteries straight into an outlet and flip the breakers to connect certain areas of the house to the batteries. I will have 2-3 LED panels per room that are wired into the light fixtures so I will be able to use light switches like normal. I am just wanting to keep the boogyman away at night. The LED panels I have ran for over a day off a single 9v battery. Speaking of light check this out. 11. It is a Kodak I bought off of Ebay for like $20. It is a cell phone cahrger but uses rechargeable AA batteries that are removeale. This is it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-KODAK-SOLAR-USB-CHARGER-AA-BATTERY-NI-MH-UNIVERSAL-B3-/271042600598?pt=Batteries_Chargers&hash=item3f1b65de96 It will charge the batteries from dead in about 8 hours in sunlight. This makes it possible to always have a AA flashlight at night as long as there was light during the day. Dolomite
12. I prefer to have everything in AA as well. That is because I have a charger for them as well as a solar charger for it as well. Dolomite
13. I make sure to speak with the person on the phone to hash out the deal. I ALWAYS write the phone number on my hand. And if I can I write a plate number on my hand as well. Doesn't do much to prevent but will help investigators catch who the last person I was with. I will also ask if they mind meeting at a local LE and have the numbers run. That will speak volumes as to the trustworthiness of the person. I have never actually met at a police station but just ask the question. I always ask, if selling, if the person is allowed to own firearms or verify their HCP. And if not HCP then at least a TDL. This is all for a face to face meet. I will not buy a gun out of state sight unseen. The chances of being ripped off are too migh for me. Dolomite
14. Well it isn't so much the quality it is their business practices. I have watched them screw over dozens of customers with faulty parts. I was making a HUGE stripped upper purchase and forced them to come clean to me or I would walk. They told me and I got disgusted. Dolomite
15. I would not touch a J&T gun with a 10 foot pole. Doublestar is a great brand but J&T not so much. Dolomite

17. Steel casings for the 300 has already been made. Not planning to be made but have been made. They are ramping up the loading as we speak. I give it two months and we will see it. This is coming from someone who probably knows more about the Blackout than anybody, not me but another know it all. Dolomite
18. The best "budget" AR is the S&W M&P Sport. They can be found for under $700. Dolomite
19. Considering most commercial 7.62x39 that comes into the country is already using .308" bullets I would guess .308". I have measured a metric ton of 7.62x39 from bothe Tula and Wolf and every bullet measured .308". And people wonder why AK's are innaccurate over here. I have seen how accurate REAL AK's shooting REAL ammo can be. Also, shooting a .311" bullet down a .308" bore will not hurt a thing. I have done it a lot and as long as you follow proper reloading procedures firing a .311" bulelt in a .308" bore will not hurt a thing. It will not wear the bore out. The reason why they never got into the 6.8 is probably because of the Spec I vs the Spec II confusion. To much liability if someone decides to shoot Spec II ammo in a Spec I gun. I know it is not likely to cause a kaboom but why intentionally risk it. It intrigued me until I realized there are two different specs for the same caliber. Dolomite
20.
I would love to build one for my shop and throw one in my BOB. It would serve 2 purposes, 1 able fire a shell and reload fast. 2 use as a blunt object if you run out of shells. It would be nice to keep an unlocked shotgun in my shop. If someone breaks in the odds of them seeing 2 pipes and thinking "oh wow a shotgun" is very low. I could access it quickly, I keep shells readily availible so ammo access is not an issue. Plus you could put 2 pipes in a bob alot easier than a shotgun and the pipes could be used in building a shelter if needed. I have tried to read up on this but I am still not sure. I read that as long as you do not sell it you can make your own firearm. I am not sure if this is correct. Has anyone made one and if so how bad is the "recoil" on the rear pipe. I dont want to launch part of my gun.
As long as you do not intend to sell it when it is made you are legal. You can later sell it if you want. Also, there is a law that says a gun cannot be desguised as somethng other than a gun. If it is then it is a AOW like the pen guns. You do not need to have a serial number on it either although it is recommended. If you intend to manufacture a handgun with a smooth bore or that fires fixed shotgun shells, you'll need to file a Form 1, pay the $200 making tax and comply with the provisions of the NFA, GCA and state laws. The reason why the Judge gets away with it is because it has a rifled bore. Personally I would just go buy a used single shot shotgun, cut the barrel down to 18.1" and be done with it. You will get far less questions doing that than building a zip gun. Dolomite
21. I read this morning that a Russian company has geared up to produce 300 Blackout now. It is begining its first production run as we speak. Prices haven't been set yet but I cannot see it being more than 7.62x39. It will be a supersonic loading that will likely use the same 123 grain bullet that the 7.62x39 currently uses. Dolomite

23. jtmaze has it right. I would give one more warning with LE present. Then when the dogs come back call LE and notify them you are shooting some dogs that are harrassing your livestock. They will tell you to do what you need to to protect your livestock. Then hang up the phone, step outside and shoot every single dog on your property. Then go back in and call LE. Tell them you have shot the dogs harassing your livestock and that you need an officer to come out. Then both of you go to the neighbors and have them remove their dead dog from your property. People who let their dogs roam free and harrass or kill others animals should be held accountable. I have shot at dogs that harrassed and killed our animals. I will do it again to protect what is mine. Dolomite
24. You have a good gun there. Colt keeps its value if you ever decide to sell it. I like running and extended charging handle latch and a sling plate. Don't get too worried if your gun won't work with that foreign ammo. Tula is not known for being very good and it chronographs 300 fps slower than any american made ammo. And sometimes that 300 fps can lead to cycling issues. I hope not for your sake because you have a couple of cases. Also, don't expect it to shoot under 4" at 100 yards because it won't. To see what your gun is capable of you need to shoot American ammo. Dolomite
