  1. I would love to see a $5k 1911 sitting in ANY gunshop. It seems the OP loves to embellish a bit. And even if the place has $5k guns what does if matter? The facility is a multi million dollar facility that offers an experience you cannot get anywhere else in thd area. And some customers evidentally want and enjoy that otherwise the facility would not be doing as well as it is. OP, if you are content going somewhere else that is fine but do not come on here drive potential customers away. If you don't like the membership fees then don't join and go back to the "holler" from which you came. Dolomite
  2.   But you can buy a heater at Home Depot :)   On a side note, I have noticed that anything that isn't on the ban list has dropped in price. I found some CZ452's for $250 and some Mossberg 500's (not Mavericks) for $200. They were not at the show but elsewhere.   Dolomite
  3. Anyone can be a member of the "price police" and voice their concerns to any seller. It is not against the rules, and never has been, to do so as long as it is done in private, in a respectful manner and does not influence his ad publically.   Benefactors can ask any price they want but ultimately it is the buyer who determines what an item will actually sell for. And it is the buyer who determines what the fair market value would be for a particular item, not the seller.   We are in some crazy times but 20 years ago no one would have thought a MAC11 would sell for $3,000 but they do. The price of things in demand, and in short supply, increase and that is how it has been as long as their has been an open market.   I personally would not use this tragedy to get rich and it only shows how uncompassionate some people are. Especially those who were selling stuff for an increased price before the bodies were probably even cold. I have not sold anything since the tragedy for more than what I was asking months ago. I could not, in my mind, use that tragedy for my personal gain.   Dolomite
  4. I hated the round and dismissed it for a long time. Them I actually decided to try loading and shooting it. I have since went full retard for the 300 Blackout. I cast for it and reload everything I shoot. It costs me 4.4 cents per loaded round. It has more down range energy than the 5.56 at anything beyond point blank range. And the only thing you need to change is the barrel on an AR. Dolomite
  5. Yeah, something is pretty messed up but easily fixed. It looks almost like that block is canted front to rear and if that is the case it is not sealing well. Almost looks like someone put a .936 block on a 750" barrel. Are there any noticeable gaps between the barrel and the gas block? There should not be any gaps or at least not big enough to notice.   Is the block seated firmly against the handgueard retainer? Looks like it has a gap there and it should not have one at all.   And finally does it look like the gas block is centered to the upper receiver, not the handgaurds?   Worst case scenario you can buy another gas block for $20 or you can the front sight. Looks like you will need a few taper pins but that are CHEAP.   Dolomite

  7.   If you can hold it in your hand it is a good or in this case a bad. But either way turds are not a service.   Dolomite
  8.  How about we call it the Grinch list rather than the crapp Santa list. Seems more fitting to call them a Grinch.   Dolomite
  9. +1   Americans do not have the fortitude to risk their lives for their rights, either themselves or for their fellow man. As long as they get theirs and can continue to be lazy while getting it they will not risk anything much less their lives. People argue more about a lost cell phone signal than the loss of their rights under the Constitution.   Dolomite
  10. I have been saying that they are going to try to add AW to the NFA registry. I seen the writing on the wall and this WILL likely pass. All you have to do is realize there were enough to elect O for a second term to realize this is going to pass. And this is going to divide the gun community rather than bring us together. Bolt gun guys are going to be glad it isn't them, yet, and distance themselves from people like me. I will say I will not add any firearm I own to the NFA registry. Doing so will make them aware of what firearms I own. Might be time to have that boating accident. Dolomite
  11. It is not your fault. You did everything right. Problem is I think some people didn't think sending out a gift as being important. And in my eyes those that agreed to be a part of if then didn't follow through are welchers. It is especially upsetting to think that some people actually received something then didn't send anything out. Or that some agreed to be a part of it to get something for free. This was supposed to be about doing something nice for your fellow members. Dolomite
  12. WOW, there is a lol of disappoint with people.   Dolomite
  13.   But that is probably because they have been helping members in need. That is what church and family is for, to help those in need. If the church has done all it can then that is great. They have done all they can and no one can fault them when they run out.   A problem I see every day is people think they are in need when they really are not. There are people who think having an XBox is a need or going to the movies once a week is a need or going to the salon or tanning is a need. None of these are needs. All a person needs to survive is food, water and shelter and an XBox provides none of that. If you look at the Christmas trees they put up for people to write their needs on you will see how spoiled some people have become.   I am not saying this for sympathy or to show I am better than anyone else but I know what it is to be in need. There have been times, early in my life, where I would rip the back seat out of the car searching for change. And the money I found was for a pack of spaghetti and a bottle of ketchup. And that was what my wife and I had for our dinner, boiled spaghetti that we then fried and used ketchup for the sauce. And during that time I would have loved to have had a nice television or a game console but it was not something I needed. I have never forgetten about that and even to this day I will pick up pennies off the ground because of it. And my childhood was just as bad if not worse because my father didn't believe in handouts in any form. We qualified for free school meals but my father wouldn't allow it. The school lunch was the best meal of the day most times. And for breakfast I almost always had warm milk poured over some toast.   There are a lot of people in this nation who do not know what it is like to actually need something. They confuse needs with wants.   A lot of people have an entitlement mindset anymore. If they see someone else receiving any benefits they want those same benefits even if they do not need them. And it has gotten so bad and out of control that there is no way to reform it without a complete collapse of the system. And if you think it isn't bad go stand at Walmart on the 2nd or 3rd of each month and watch how many people use EBT cards. It is also sickening to see what people are buying with the money we put into the system by way of our taxes. I see people with EBT cards buying beer all the time. The cashier rings up EVERYTHING then the customer swipes their EBT card and the register automatically deducts all the items the EBT card can purchase leaving the other items to be paid for in cash. If a person is using a EBT card because they need them to survive then alcohol should be the fathest from their minds. I know a lady who uses her EBT card to buy packs of tuna for her cats and she brags about it. She says she will continue until they let her buy catfood with her EBT card. And we are talking about the expensive packs of tuna that I feel guilty about buying 1/2 the time.   Want to fix the EBT fraud problem? First drug test all recipients. Second the person using it must show an ID and it must match the card. And finally, require all recipients to perform 8 hours of community service a week.   Anyone who goes to work for the government is required to get a drug test it should be the same for those who receive those same government funds. I want to make sure my tax money isn't being used for something illegal. Do random drug tests and 1st offense they loose benefits for a month. 2nd offense they loose benefits for 6 months. 3rd offense they loose benefits for life. If you are so down and out that you need these funds to survive you should not be wating them on illegal drugs.   Right now a person who is using a EBT card does NOT have to show an ID to verify who they are. The office that manages it says it is for privacy reasons even though the name is on the card. They also say if someone else is using the card then the owner of the card gave them permission. This makes it ripe for fraud where people are selling or trading the EBT benefits for something else, likely illegal items. Make it a requirement that the person, to whom the card is issued, be present for the purchase.   Every person who receives a paycheck in the real world works for it. Why is it that someone can receive free money without lifting so much as a finger. Even if it is just answering the phone from home for 8 hours a week it is work they are doing to get paid. Just that 8 hours once a week would force a lot of enrollees off the welfare rolls. And for those who are abled bodied they can pick up trash alongside the road or some other thing to improve the looks or performance of the community.   Something else, if you are not here legally you should not receive ANY money. Well let me rephrase. The benefits you receive should be in the form of a bus or plane ticket back to your country of origin.   Dolomite
  14. The problem is California has been the petri dish for all other gun control legislation. You can point at any gun legislation in any other state and find its roots in California. California probably did the first but backs as well. Any future legislation on the national level will be based on laws already on the books in California. And as TricktNicky has said, all private sales must go through a FFL in California. I suspect that will be the next step taken on a national level. Well that and the addition of those guns on California's DOJ list to the NFA registry. Dolomite
  15. I may grab up one of my AR's and put a $500 price tag on it then change my mind at the last second. Should be entertaining.   Dolomite
  16.   You will come back tha is unless accuracy isn't you biggest concern.   Dolomite
  17. They did mention that 2 million people will lose their unemployment benefits. Not sure what to make of that but my gut feeling is if they were looking for work, rather than just sitting around, it would help the economy. Remember these are the people who have been collecting for over a year now. And along with unemployment benefits they are likely receiving food stamps, housing subsidies as well as healthcare in some states. All those benefits cost the taxpayer as well as increase our national debt.  And it is those of us that work that are going to replay that debt.   If someone is so hard up for food I am sure their family or their church would be glad to help them. But there are some that think having a Playstation for Christmas is a necessity.  Or thinking it is a requirement that they have a 60” television to watch their HD cable on. If you are on governemnt assistance you should have enough to eat, clothe your bodies (an not with brand names), heat your home and not much else.   Dolomite

  20. I have one and it sits on the shelf. I have used it in the past but it is a little to finicky for my liking. If I were to use it for anything it would be to load already primed brass.     Dolomite
  21. I don't think he would have a problem opening that can of worms because it does not affect him. He has proven over and over again to not care what public opinion says. And our representatives would posture and nothing more if he did. If the R's were that concerned O would have been been impeached already. O has done dozens of things in his first 4 years to bypass congress and those opposed to him have done nothing more than talk and some even cower.   O is so arrogant that he has no problem doing something that is questionable like a EO regulating firrearms in some way. Heck he even uses his political position to hide those around him who have blatantly, and in public view, broken the law.   Dolomite
  22. There are several ways for them to force the registration and background checks of every firearm sale without going through the legislative process. When that happens hopefully every gun owner will be outraged but I suspect we, as gun owners, will divide into those who own AW and those who don't. Heck I have heard it from several deer hunters that a bolt gun can do anything an AR can so there is no need for an AR.   Dolomite
  23. And if something does make us criminals and we are arrested, then convicted we will remain in prison even if the law is later repealed. There are thousands of people in prison right now for laws that are no longer a law. Drug laws are a prime example of this. With the recent decision in Colorado to legalize marijuana totally those that were arrested or convicted even the day beofre will likely have to complete their punishment.   And if a turn in happened the guns would be destroyed before the courts would ever decide either way.   Dolomite
  24.   Who would have thought the 1934, 1968 or the 1986 rule cahnges would have taken place? Or the 1994 AWB?   Dolomite
