The reason why Stingers can stick in the chamber is because the case is physically longer. And I bet the reason it won't cycle is the case mouth is getting jammed into the throat of the shorter chamber. CCI Stingers are worse than shorts out of a pistol. Stingers must have a rifle length barrel to get to the advertised velocity. In a short pistol barrel they rarely break 1,000 fps and with that tiny 32g bullet it has very little energy. The best for SD, if your gun will cycle them, is the Aguila SSS. Even out of a 2" barrel they will penetrate 8". And along the way the bullet will tumble creating a 5/8" wide wound channel as it does. The next best is the CCI Velicitor. It still has a relatively low velocity but it has a 40g bullet. The velocity is a lot closer to the advertised velocity than Stingers.

Nice to find this place...

Welcome to TGO. I too am an East Tennessee resident. And yes, we do need to have another TGO get together. -
Also, I can probably make you a much heavier buffer as well depending on recoil spring. If you have a flat wire I could make one that is much heavier
-
If anything is going to happen it will be the case head ruptures because there isn't enough pressure/weight holding the bolt in place. I think you will have it covered with the heavy buffer. I have had experiments where the gun seemed to cycle fine. Was tossing the brass out perfectly but none of the bullets made it out of the bore. That was a blowback 30 Tokarev shooting 180 grain bullets. If you need any help let me know.

Every one of them should be charged with disorderly conduct at a minimum. They should also be charged with this: And yet another I would charge them with: And finally, Riot:

To end the automated calls do this. Find a recording, like on Youtube, of the first few seconds of the disconnected line tone. Record that as your greeting followed by your message. To a person it is some sort of glitch and they won't think anything of it but an automated dialer will hear it and list your number as disconnected. I used to get horrible telemarketer calls on my cell phone. I actually got a call while I was telling another to quit calling. After recording the disconnected tone and letting all calls go to my voice message all the calls pretty much stopped. I still have to let my phone go to my voice message a few days a year but it is way better than before.

And you know where I live if you want help putting anything together.

In my eyes not too much has changed. It says all trustees must do a background but we can add and take away trustees any time we want. Remove all trustees but yourself when you submit and add the trustees back when you get your item approved. They cannot dictate who are trustees or when they became trustees. It is still easier for your family to deal with items in a trust than dealing with items in your name. With a trust they just come and get the items. As an individual they must submit a Form 5 and go through the exact same background as you did. The time frame is still going to be long and because you have to do a background check either way why not make it easy on your heirs. -

East towne and Halls Walmarts had ARs a few days before Orlando. BTW, Walmart has also discontinued the sale of "defensive/tactical", their words not mine, shotguns. They also marked down all accessories for ARs. Picked up a few $100 stocks for $50 and a few $50 grips for $15 when they had their sale on AR specific accessories. -
If we decide we want to keep guns out of the hands of a "terrorist" that WILL be used to attack us. Once the law is passed stating terrorists are prevented from possessing guns then all it takes is for the definition of "terrorist" to be changed and it will affect a lot more people. Hillary has already said gun owners are "terrorists" so any legislation used to prevent "terrorists" from getting guns will also, at some point, be changed to include gun owners. We are living in a bizarre world right now. It is like all these changes are being done to intentionally destroy the US.

My poor fingers, another one gets it
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
It has been kick out of bed. My nail was actually pulled out sideways. I hit the side of my pinky finger and the edge of the nail was caught lifting it up off the finger as well as twisting it off sideways. Seen the doctor and we felt leaving the nearly removed nail in place was better than surgery to remove the rest of it. Doesn't hurt other than when I hit it now. Day, and night, one was pretty rough because it constantly throbbed and stung a bit. It got pinched between the top of a 4x4 post and a tool. -
I have carried or owned ARs for at least 25 years then I got my first AK. Now, my go to guns are all AKs.

BTW, I normally do not have a "coke nail". -
Once again I have brutalized one of my digits. The old nail was hanging on by a thread but rather than rip it off it will protect what is underneath for now.

I would STRONGLY suggest getting a drum that you can leave loaded without the rounds being under spring tension. Those are the ones you wind up after they are loaded.

Here are some great prices on solar panels. http://www.wholesalesolar.com/solar-panels

If you are a KUB customer they will not allow you to use your energy after the meter. It MUST tie in ahead of the meter and YOU pay for the energy YOU produce. They will put a meter on your equipment and deduct the amount you generate then reimburse you with cash for the energy you produce IF, and it is a big if, they have the funding. I almost when completely off the grid 4-5 years ago. Back then they had a new solar program to offset any energy I produced. They had funding set aside for people who want to go solar. The way it was supposed to work is you sell KUB your energy at .14 per kilowatt hour and they sell it back to you at the current rate which was .09 kilowatt hour. Unfortunately a few big solar fields were put up in the Knoxville area by big businesses to offset their energy costs using the new program. And those companies have used up all the funding that was supposed to help residential consumers go solar. I just spoke to the solar engineer at KUB within the last three months and it is still the same way, you will get reimbursed if funding is available. The energy YOU provide will ALWAYS be available for them to use but the funding may or may not be there now or in the future. They said there are no guarantees that you would be reimbursed but they did say that some do get reimbursed, I assumed they were talking about the companies they said are using up all the funding. Every other state lets you tie in to your house after the meter but, according to the solar representative at KUB, KUB has an agreement with TVA. That agreement is what we have now, KUB reimburses you with cash for your energy if the funding is available. No doubt someone is making money somewhere for them to set this up this way. Like I said every other state in the United States lets you use your power first but not KUB. And that agreement is in place for at least another 20 years. I asked what would happen if I tied into my house with my solar equipment after the meter and they said I would be in trouble. Not sure what the trouble is but I don't want to take that chance. That is the ONLY reason I haven't gone completely off grid yet. Even if the system is big enough to cover all your energy needs you will still have to pay a monthly electric bill and KUB will reimburse you. That is because they require my energy for them to use first and I will only see the benefit as a check if funds are available and those funds have not been available for someone like me at least 5 years now. So for me the $50K might not ever give me a single return on my investment unless they change the rules or more funding becomes available. And even if funds are made available I suspect those big businesses will just scale up to the new amount. And when I heard that I would not see a single dime on my $50K investment I told them I would not be interested and then they tried to convince me using the "its for the environment" argument. I am sure there are some who got in on this program before the big businesses took everything but I could not 5 years ago or three months ago. My recent inquiry was not for a off grid system like before but for a grid tie system. Also, they will not allow you to do partial solar setup. If your solar is permanent you MUST install enough to cover like 75% or 90% of your energy consumption. You MUST use a TVA/KUB authorized installer and they will take your electricity bills from the previous year to estimate the size of solar setup you need. That is the minimum of what MUST be installed. You cannot go smaller according to the agreement between KUB and TVA. My monthly summertime electric bills are ~$120 and wintertime is ~$230. I insulated very well when I built this house and that has helped out immensely. I mention my bills so you can get an idea of what size system you will need. They estimated that I needed a system that needed 28 of their panels. And all of the equipment, batteries and install was close to $50K with decent quality components. If I went with cheap equipment the cost would be around $35K. And they estimated my break even point would be in 22 years. So basically I would pay $50K up front and then it would take 22 years to break even IF the funding was available every one of those years. It wasn't worth the gamble for me. I even asked if I could buy the equipment and have an electrician install it. They said it would not be allowed unless it was installed by a KUB authorized installer. I am pretty sure they also said that the equipment must be bought from an authorized KUB/TVA vendor. I am seriously considering installing solar on my new garage. I would use KUB power for all the outlets and equipment and only use solar for the lights. That way I would always have lights even when the power is out.

I found 300 watt solar panels for $300, $381 shipped. And that single panel should do everything I need it to do. Now I guess I just need to figure it out on my own. I would just prefer to hand someone a check and let them deal with it.

Does anyone know anyone who will take my money to install/sell a small solar setup? So far it seems like I am too small for any installer to do it. I would need to spend 10's of thousands before they will even think about selling me anything. By small I mean something that will charge 4-5 12v batteries. I have no illusions about using solar for heating, cooling or cooking. I am wanting a setup I can use to charge flash lights, small electronic devices and some other small stuff. I have a smaller setup right now but it will not support what I have plans for. I do not need an array with 50+ solar panels and dozens of batteries. I am clueless when it comes to solar so I am trying t find an expert that will sell me what I need. Thanks

When did you get a silencer? I know you were not wanting to get into the NFA game yet. -
Judging from the maps it looks like the bobcat also hates liberals. It looks like bobcats are avoiding liberal strongholds as well.

Lets see, I am not a member but I call and send emails to representatives all over this country. Not just our representatives either, I call offices all over this country trying to help out my fellow gun owners. And that is the type of action we need because that did more to ward off the Sandy Hook legislation on a national level than the NRA ever could. There are more gun owners who do exactly that than there are members of the NRA. Just because someone sends $35 a year doesn't mean they get to sit on their butts, do nothing else and question what others are doing. It is almost like they are joining so they don't have to do anything else. Ask a NRA member what they did to help preserve our rights and the majority will say "I joined the NRA" (And got a free magazine subscription). Ask a typical gun owner and most will say they have sent emails, made calls as well as show up to events. The NRA, just like the liberals, only get involved if it fits their narrative. Just seen an article about a women who was arrested and charged for discharging a firearm. She she fired shots to try to save her children after a bad guy shot her, soon to be, husband in the head, killing him. I will bet almost anything that calls to the NRA regarding that women will get ZERO response because it does not fit there narrative. BTW, the lady had a handgun carry permit, a legally purchased firearm and had every legal right to defend her children and herself from her would be attackers but instead she was arrested. And despite this being the PERFECT case to support I bet the NRA will sit that one out.

I am having a garage built over the next month or so. Slab will be poured next week and it will be 4-6 weeks before the building goes up. And during that wait is a perfect time to go corner to corner. So so what is a good floor coating for concrete? Durabilty is the highest priority and second is looks. Cost is not a big concern if it is a quality product.

Heavy taper barrels tend to shoot better than straight or sporter weight tapered barrels. I need to tear down my Ruger Charger and set the headspace on it and set a barrel back. I am going to try to thread the factory front sight onto a shorty barrel, then sleeve it and finally, thread it. I like the idea of having irons on a pistol. It is been something I have wanted to try doing for a while now.
