  1. I bought one just ilke that on Ebay for $15.53 shipped. Works great. http://www.ebay.com/itm/360566583233?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I also bought one that mounts in line with the rail rather than an offset.   Dolomite
  2. Think about this. If you were to walk into a sporting goods store, any of them, and look at AR's do they generally have a rear sight? They generally do not come with rear sights so unless the place that has AR's also has rear sights you are not going to walk out with one.   If you walked into any Walmart and looted an AR it would not have sights.   And as useless as an AR without sights may seem it is still useable. Most people can hit a target at 15 feet without using the sights. Or you could walk in the shots if shooting at longer distances. And without sights they are still pretty intimidating when you are staring down the barrel.   Dolomite
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T-F_zfoDqI&feature=player_embedded   Just thought it was a great video about the efforts to ban guns.   Dolomite
  4. You are not allowed to use your FFL to increase your own private stock of firearms. This is according to an agent I asked when I was looking at getting an FFL. But he did say that what ever firearms are in the business's possession when the FFL expired would go to the business owner. So maybe he is just waiting for his FFL to expire to take possession of the guns he got at dealer prices.   Dolomite
  5. Indelible ink would fix everything. You dip your finger then cast your vote. Well it would work if the polling stations weren't corrupt. It would be like a lock only keeps honest people honest. Dolomite
  6. 300 Blackout actually does run right there with 223 unless it is subsonic.   Dolomite
  7. You can use them for pistol. Just work up loads accordingly. Dolomite
  8. I got it.   Thanks
  9. Stretch the spring by hand and see if the problem goes away. If it does then grab a new spring.   Dolomite
  10. If you do decide on a 22 only load it with 60 grain Aguila SSS rounds. They are heavy and tumble. They can penetrate 8" and have a decent wouldn't channel. The shorter case helps reliability. http://youtu.be/2T10BMy6oq0 I have a Taurus PLY-22 and that is all it is loaded with. Dolomite
  11. Well I did. I got a Saiga and I still have to finish it but it will be under 28" when done.   Dolomite
  12. Giving them a list of those with guns is going to be nothing more than a list of those to rob of their firearms.    Dolomite
  13. Actually I am needing someone to tig for me.
  14. Might want to change his name from "Norma" to "Norman". I would hate for him to slice your throat over it, he has been under a lot of stress lately.   Dolomite
  15. Have you dond what I suggested? There can be a lot of crude as well as grease in the deepest recesses of combloc guns. You could use WD-40 to clean if out the use air to blow thd WD-40 out.
  16. Your loads are likely going to be a bit under powered. If they cycle and are accurate it should be fine but I use data that is a bit hotter.   For 55 grain bullets I would start at 25 grains and consider 26.5 as the absolute MAX. And work up very, very cautiously to that MAX.   If you happen to shoot 62 grain steel core bullets I use 25.8 grains to get 3,070 fps out of a 16" barrel. Again, I would work up from 25 grains very cautiously. I would not go beyond 25.9 with the 62 grain bullets.   Dolomite
  17. I think as long as we talk to them with respect and try not to argue they might listen. Even though we do take it personally we cannot let our emotion enter into the conversation otherwise we have lost.   At the stable were my wife boards her horse there is a women who is LIBERAL. She speaks in liberal speak, is a teacher and a PETA member as well as a vegitarian. A few months ago I jokingly told my wife I am going to get her to shoot a gun. When I started talking to her about Sandy Hook and guns she gave me a icky look saying "I don't udnerstand how anyone could own a gun". She works as a school teacher and said she would never carry a gun in a school.   My wife and I have talked to her a few times over the last month about the benefits of guns in protecting people. I never got loud and remained calm. My wife has even showed the lady the gun my wife carries. And I always asked the lady when she wanted to go shooting. Well a few days ago she said to let her know when we could go shooting. I honestly thought she would have never considered it but now we just need to set a date for my wife and I to take the lady shooting.   My next goal is to convince her she needs a HCP even if she never plans on owning or carrying a gun.   And this isn't the first. We have a friend who loved or loves Obama. Pretty liberal leaning and never really was a gun person even though her family is. We invited her over for a day of shooting with several members here. She was able to shoot a bunch of different guns. She has since gotten her HCP and carries almost every day. I am not sure I can convert her from being an Obama lover but at least she is a gun owner.   I think we are trying to convert them to our way of thinking too quickly. Getting loud and trying to argue them into submission only forces them to shut down and not listen, the same way we do.   Dolomite
  18. People need to understand technology is here to stay and can be a great asset when raising kids. Our son was sat down in front of a computer in 1995, when he was 3, and I want to think it helped him. Kids are generally interested in technology so if it can be used to keep them learning I welcome it.   The problem is when parents use technology as a babysitter. That is when the kids learn their morals and values that are, in most cases, skewed.   Dolomite
  19. Pics are coming. I still need to tear the gun down to paint and do a few other things. But I am going to make sure it is 100% reliable before painting.   Dolomite
  20. Read right above your post.   Dolomite
  21. Wow! You took a reasonable letter and added that? They will not give yours a second thought because of what you added. And now my letter will likely be viewed negatively because it was what you used to lead into your diatribe. You made yourself sound way off your rocker by advocating rape and being burned. Then the reference to those Americans who were killed overseas took it over the top.   We need to think before we send an email. Glad this wasn't a gun issue because it would played right into the antis hands and they would have pointed and said "I told you they were all crazy".   Dolomite
  22.   It has absolutely nothing to do with post count or anything else. Ever think that maybe no one owns that particular scope and that is why they did not respond?   As far as the scope recommendation you are going to have a hard time finding an American made scope capable of 1,000 yards with a mildot for your price range. Persoanlly I would not give up on some of the nicer foreign made models. Vortex makes some nice scopes.   Without a doubt get a mildot but I would also recommend making sure the adjustments are in mils as well. Makes making corrections "on the fly" easy.   Some Leupold products are made overseas so that is not a guarantee they are American made.   Dolomite
  23. It is the gas block on a Saiga 12. I knocked the plug out on top to drill the ports out for reliability. I have abour 3 complete turns on a 10/32 setscrew and it it holding just fine. The pressure levels are not really as much as what I though they were going to be because in #2 position the hole is blocked by the gas adjustment. It will spend 99% in the #2 position so it isn't a big deal now other than having an extra set screw. I still need to drill the ports out a bit more I think. It cycles but it isn't as aggressive as the Saiga I just got rid of. I like it when it slings the brass 5+ feet.   I got everything set in the Kushnapup stock now. I am going to tear it all down tomorrow and probably paint the gun and make a few minor tweaks.   Of everything the CSS rail that uses the rear sight is a but disappointing. Way to flimsy for my liking but it works. I put a Burris FastFire on it will a laser right in front of it. It works out so well you would think it is one complete unit.   BTW, I would never plug the fron sight hole on a shotgun. I would just cut the barrel down.
  24. I was thinking about just filling in the hole then I realized it might be too much for someone. So I tapped the hole and installed a setscrew. And just needed someone to weld the setscrew in place.   Dolomite
  25. Might try cleaning the firing pin channel to make sure the firing pin can retract or get a new firing pin spring if they have one.   Dolomite
