It is our business if you are on our property. If you are not on my property I could care less how or what you do to protect yourself. But when you are on my property I can dictate how you will defend yourself. I can also dictate what you wear, what you say as well as whether I can search you on my property. If you chose not to follow my wishes, as the property owner, while you are on my property you must leave. Who is to say whether a life is worth someone's property? There is plenty of things that people would kill someone over and rightly so. Dolomite

I suspect that will be the end result. But I wanted to give him a chance to come around. -
Documents reveal more about KPD switch from .40-caliber Glock
Dolomite_supafly replied to Coastie's topic in Handguns
Ok, this is only rumor. But I have heard that the person that is going to be paid to retrain KPD is also the same person or at least affliated with the person who was on the forfront to do the switch to Sig from Glock. The trade deal is not where the money is being made but in the training, it is the follow on training. Again, this is just rumor but everything else I have heard points to this. The trade deal isn't bad either but it probably pales in comparison to the contract for training. Think about this. It costs $400 for a Glock how much do you think it costs to train an officer for a week on how to use that Glock? Probably a lot more than that $400. Dolomite -

I gave him 7 days so he may or may not be back. I also told him if he didn't change I would kick him for good. He is NEW so maybe he just hasn't figured out we are not that kid of board or maybe he was trolling. EIther way I am giving him a second chance and it will be his choices whether he will stay or go. I am saving yourself a lot of grief, enjoy the vacation. Coming on here making veiled threats and hurling insults will not be tolerated. Enjoy the vacation and don't forget to read the rules with all your free time on your hands. Dolomite -

The biggest problem will be clearing the charging handle. I have ran into that in the past. Dolomite

I am in no hurry at all. I figured the folding stocks on Ebay are cheap enough to take a chance for my 22 AR. I will probably cut the threaded part off a extra tube I have laying around and either epoxy or pin that over the stub of the stock. You can find decent looking folding stocks for under $30 on Ebay. LEOSA Applies to Military Police
Dolomite_supafly replied to c.a.willard's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
But is says it does not supersede state laws. Here is an excert and I read it to mean that if a person has a gunbuster sign you still must abide by that as well as state laws restricting firearms in government buildings. You are still unable to do anything more than you did before in this state and probably plenty of others. So for me the only thing this does the same thing as my current HCP but without the need to qualify every year. Now for those that travel it might make a difference but for me it doesn't. Dolomite -
No I am not but I am into cheap stocks that I might be able to adapt to a 22. Dolomite

I am need to know the diameter of the stock stub that goes into the receiver. The part of the stock that actually slips into the receiver. The round part. Thanks Dolomite

Additionally, the powder chart does not list hottest to coldest. It list fastest to slowest. And the fastest vs slowest isn't so much about how fast the powder burns but more about how quickly the pressures subside. According to Hornady all powders reach reach their max pressure very shortly, generally under an inch, but fast powders dissipate that pressure quicker while a slow powders take a little longer to dissipate. And because the slower powder is able to exert pressure over a longer time span it is able to have higher velocities for a given pressure than faster powders. Think of it like this. You have two 55 gallon drums filled to the top. One has a faucet that is 1" OD and one has a faucet that is 12" OD. Both faucets have the same amount of pressure on them but if you open both the "faster burning" one with the 12" opening will empty all its energy quicker that the 1" opening. Both expend the same amount of energy but one does it in seconds while another does it in minutes. Dolomite

Do not do this. Never use load data for one powder when using a different powder no matter where the fall in the chart. The powders in the chart are not equally spaced. Just because two powders are next to each other does not mean that they are similar. It just means they are closer to each other than the rest of the powders. There could be huge differences between two powders that are next to each other and those differences could result in injury or death. Find data for the powder you are using. There is plenty of resources for using Bullseye so there is no reason to use any other data. Bearing surface and case capacity both have affects on pressure. Heavier bullets tend to have longer bearing surfaces as well as seat deeper in the cases and these increase pressures. This is why heavier bulelts tend to have a smaller charge compared to lighter bullets. Seating depth affects case capacity and pressures. You can blow a gun up using the minimum charge if you seat a bullet deep enough. This is why they ALWAYS list the OAL of the loaded cartridge. Dolomite

LEOSA Applies to Military Police
Dolomite_supafly replied to c.a.willard's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
This doesn't allow people to carry past gunbuster signs or anywhere else prohibited by state law. Even though I would qualify I will keep my HCP because this change to the LEOSA doesn't really change anything for me. Dolomite -

According to how it reads your father must still maintain the same qualification standards as when he was active. Dolomite -

Thanks for posting. I was reading and although I meet the requirements I will still keep my HCP. Dolomite -
Just saying to the untrained eye that they look similar enough to be confused. And without a side by side could you tell the lower is shorter? The ATF probably had nothing to compare it to. Dolomite

These are not your typical airsoft guns. These are very high end guns that actually have FCG's that work like real guns. Not condoning it but the FCG of these airsoft guns are very, very close to real firearms. Depending on what they are made of they could possibly be used to turn a real gun into a FA, at least temporarily.. These are high end airsoft rifles that work identical to real guns. The only difference is they use 6mm plastic BB's. They look close enough that if they were not sitting next to each other most of us here would have a hard time telling the difference. If I removed the names next to them how many of us could pick the real FCG? Heck, I think I found a source for lowers now :) The pictures are from here: http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=1&f=6&t=822272 So to the untrained ATF eyes they do look like FA FCG's, especially if they have nothing to compare it to. He didn't shoot him while he was running away. He followed him out and the bad guy chose to escalate. I know I would have went outside to look for a plate on a get away car, or to see what direction the bad guy went, to help police track him down. Dolomite

Use whatever kind of grease you have on the barrel nut. There is no reason for it to remain after it is put together. There should bd no heat during assembly. Tighten it by hand then tighten it to the next point where the gas tube will pass through. It is nearly impossible to have it torque to spec AND line up. After you are done wipe away any excess grease or use solvent to remove excess. The buffer tube should be straight relative to the rest of the lower. Put the lower in a vice with a level across the mating surface of the lower, not the top of the upper. Once the mating surface is level place the level on the buffer tube to ensure it is the same. If it is not then it needs to go back to the maker. Dolomite
