  1. Yes we do as long as we let those we don't agree with know we don't agree with them. Telling those we are in agreement with that we agree with them is not as important as letting those we don't agree with know how we feel.   Hopefully the nation as a whole figures it out. And I honestly hope all the good guys and girls in those liberal states move, taking their tax money with them. When the states see their funding fleeing in droves they might get a clue to not regulate their tax dollars away.
  2. It is likely non repairable based on the fact the doors are hard to open and close as well as the buckling throughout the body.
  3. But we are far from being last in that contest. I can think of at least a 1/2 dozen other states that are better than Tennessee as far as individual freedoms and gun rights. Not saying we are bad, because we are not, but we are far from being dead last which is where I would want to be.
  4. Maybe if the rest of the nation gave it a good nudge.   Problem is California is the petri dish for the nation. Almost every single gun, enviromental or liberal type law originated in California. Then the rest of the nation followed or tries to follow suit. Think it hasn't happened here look at the enviromental controls passed here. They were in California long before they were here.   And we already have liberal leaning legislators here otherwise we would be passing a lot more protective measures for guns. Just takes a few more in key places and we will see California laws here.
  5. Everythign you need to know about tumbling loaded ammo: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/303242_.html&page=1
  6. One more thing. When I used to load jacketed bullets I always tumbled them after the loading process. I tumbled pistol as well as rifle and never had an issue.
  7.   Not true.   There have been several people that have proven this to be false. One tumbled loaded bullets for a week then compared the powder in the cases to the powder out of the jug. He compared them under a microscope and could not see a difference. He shot them across a chronograph and there was virtually no difference in velocity between tumbled bullets and just loaded bullets using the same powder.   Also, loaded bullets get jostled and tumbled a lot during transport and if this was the case then they would be shipped differently. And the powder itself in jugs gets thrown around during shipment.   I have personally tumbled loaded bullets for a couple of days when I forgot about them. I shot them without issue.
  8. The IQ ammo is an a lightweight alloy that breaks apart upon impact.   Magsafe or Magtech used to make a bullet that was a jacket with a polymer filling. The velocity on those was well over 2,000 fps for both 9mm and 45ACP. They also sold a polymer bullet that had lead shot in the mix.   Here are some other intersting ammo along those same lines. http://www.rbcd.net/Products/Personal_Defense/ I have contacted them about buying just the bullets for reloading but they only sell loaded ammunition.
  9. Walmart at East Towne Mall in Knoxville got some in this morning. I picked up 800 rounds but left at least 4K sitting on the shelves. They only have shotgun shells right now. They have 20 and 12 gauge.   If anyone is needing 12 gauge they routinely have it.   Going to be bringing some to the shoot this weekend.
  10. Cheap 150 grain Federal.
  11. The one at Broadway and Whittle Springs always has ammo. The one on Maynardville highway in Halls is hit or miss on 22 but usually has shotgun ammo.
  12. Send them an email stating this. Then send the same email to those stores in FM mall. You would be surprized how much influence their customers can have.
  13. Call 911 immediately, do not wait because witnesses leave the area.   Then when the officers are there tell them you were the victim. Then tell them the subjects actions put you in fear. Do not refer to the person that is shot as the victim, you are the victim. The person shot is the subject, not you.   Beyond that I would not offer any more information. Be cooperative be do not offer any information without being asked.
  14. That is a brutal impact. I would wait a few days then go back to the doctor for another check up. Adrenaline can mask a lot of aches and pains and it can take a day or two for some injuries to show up. And like someone said go get checked out if something doesn't seem right.   I bet a lot of the impact energy was diverted into lifting your truck as well as pushing it forward. Looks like the Tbird went under your car. And when that happened it lengthened the impact time and that minimized, thankfuly, your injuries. Lucky you guys were in a truck that weighs probably 2x the car that hit you. Had it be reversed the outcome would have been far worse for you guys.   Glad you guys didn't incur and significant injuries. It is unfortunate that the other driver died.   And if you need anything feel free to call.
  15. I suspect the guard had no clue about the rules. All he saw was a Segway, which is what the mall cops use, and thought only they were allowed to have them. Hell, I wish I had a Segway to help me on my bad days. Or maybe the veteran wasn't wearing a helmet, like the mall cops have to, and the mall cops told him he had to.   I will not look at any veteran in any negative light until we have all the facts. If the mall cop was wrong I hope the veteran takes his salary for the next few years and the veteran becomes part owner of the mall.
  16. There are several Kmarts in the Knoxville area that sells ammo. Pretty much limited to 22 and shotgun but they do sell it.
  17. For $200 it is a deal. They sell in the $350-$450 range depending on condition. Make sure to keep grease on the lugs. As far as accuracy we were getting 1" at 50 yards but that was not with a rest. They have very little recoil.
  18. What they are going to try is pass an amendment using the voice vote. That way legislators can say, without proof, they voted one way or the other. Problem is the person calling for the voice vote determines who wins by the amount of noise each side makes. And it is their interpretation who won. And once the person in charge declares it passed the odds of getting it reversed is nil. This is a lot more dangerous than having a by name vote as previously wanted. This is why they gave up the by name vote so easily knowing a voice vote would be easier to cheat.
  19. The absolutely best setup for a Blackout would be a mildot reticle then range and mark your turrets for the holdover. There is not a BDC reticle that will match your load, at least not one I have found. It takes a little time and effort but what you get is a weapons system, yes it is a system, that is capable of so much more than just what just adding a scope can do. You don't even need a mildot. You can use a standard duplex reticle as long as you have a way to range like a laser range finder.   And this applies to most other calibers as well. The longer the range the caliber is capable of the more important it is to get the correct numbers on your turrets.   I am building a bolt gun in 300BO and it will wear a mildot and target turrets.
  20. Walmart in Halls sells reloading supplies. What used to be Randy's Guns and Knives sells reloading supplies. Gander Mountain does as does Bass Pro Shop.   But the best place to get supplies is from David. He is a great guy. He is uber honest and has the integrity rarely seen by any dealers. He is also a veteran who is a shooter that suports the shooting community. I have known David for probably 7 years now and I have seen him do some pretty amazing things to help people out without expecting a single thing in return. There is not a single reloader on this board who he hasn't helped in some way.   Dolomite
  21. Yeah probably. It would probably turn the gun into a hand grenade pretty quickly.   There was a factory load that had two one ounce slugs but there is no load data out there to duplicate it.
  22. I figure a few drops in a jar of Alox should be plenty. :)   I don't crimp and I run them in a semi auto. In a pump it would be less problematic. I don't crimp my slugs in either because I cut the tops out of the shells. I kind of bend the open end in so the slugs doesn't just fall out. I also shoot 1.25 ounce round balls as well using the same method. I would like to find some data for two of those 1.25 ouce slugs in a single shell. I don't care if they only go 700 fps they would be brutal on anything you might hit.
  23. Haven't tried it but here you go: http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/candlemaking-soap-supplies/item/bacon/-BACON-Fragrance-Oil.html
  24. There are recent letters stating the same thing.   Go here: https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=atf+pistol+buffer+tube&oq=atf+pistol+buffer+tube&gs_l=hp.3...10023.11838.1.11959.11.11.0.0.0.0.208.1706.1j9j1.11.0...0.0...1c.1.7.psy-ab._5nz4q59iDU&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.44442042,d.eWU&fp=5ba43b862bdac08d&biw=1280&bih=649 The 4th down is a PDF letter stating it. I will not link the PDF directly and you will understand why when you see it.   It is from 2011. It states any receiver extension does not constitute a shoulder stock. Accordingly any buffer tube can be used on a AR-15 pistol. They caution that possessing a stock that could be readily installed on the pistol could constitute a SBR.   Dolomite
