  1. You will not have any problems shooting them as cast. When you seat the bullets in the case the case sizes them down a little. I bet if you pull the bullet from the case it will be perfect.   I try to make sure my cast bullet are .002" over the bore. And I have never had a problem.   Cast bullets are different than jacketed bullets. Cast bullets easily squeeze down to the bore diameter where jacketed does not. I honestly cannot think of any negatives from a bullet being .001"-.002" over while a bullet that is the same size as a jacketed ro smaller can have problems from leading. In a pistol leading is caused by gas making it past the bullet and this is caused by a bullet that is undersized. When a cast bullet is fired it kind of squishes out of shape and seals itself to the bore. If the bullet is too small no smount of squishing will seal it to the bore.   What kind of lead are you using?
  2. What are your bullets dropping at now? You may not need to size them at all.
  3. Why the hell can they buy lobster and steak on my dime when I cannot afford to buy lobster and steak? Image from here:http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/government/ss/Lobster-Steak-Food-Stamp-Receipt.htm Snopes said it is true: http://www.snopes.com/photos/signs/receipt.asp They did not violate any rules in buying the lobster, steak or diet mountain do. It became a problem when it was founf out the purchaser was selling the items for 1/2 price.
  4. Fill out a Form 1. Have sheriff sign off on it. Make a copy. Attach passport photos to both. Complete 2 ATF fingerprint cards. Complete the certification form. Put the two Form 1's, Certification form, fingerprint cards and a $200 check in the mail to the ATF. Wait 6-9 months then once you have the form in hand attach your stock.   It is a very easy, but slow, process.   DO NOT ATTACH THE STOCK BEFORE YOU HAVE THE FORM IN HAND!   Dolomite
  5. After the can gets dirty they tend to stay tight or at least my Form 1 can does.   To make the can even quieter you can add media to it. I use wire pulling gel and recently started using hand sanitizer. My can is SS so it won't hurt it.   Ambient temperature makes a difference in how loud a can is as well. In the summer a can will be quieter than in the winter. I have some ammo that is very quiet during the summer that cracks during the winter months.   The Sparrow in SS is the best bang for the buck can out there. It isn't the quietest but ease of cleaning more than makes up for it.
  6.   Things always seem new and fresh.   I don't have a TBI but I have memory issues that seemed to have cropped up since my accident.
  7. I have found that in order to get these to cycle in a semi auto you need to have the shot come to the top.
  8. And once you hear the sound of a subsonic 22 you will always want to shoot 22's. A supersonic bullet through a can still is loud unless the target is under 15 yards. The only way to get rid of the supersonic crack is to use subsonic ammo. And the easiest way to do that is with 22 subsonics.   A 22 can must be able to be taken apart to clean. If not then the performance will slowly degrade as well as the can getting heavier.
  9. I am glad I came out. At 6am I was reconsidering it. I enjoyed the time there and even though the trip was a bit scary it was worth every "Oh ####" I said on the way up.   I am also glad I got to place some faces with names even though I have forgotten them all. I wanted to stay longer but had to go. I did get to shoot a gun I never shot before, thanks GoneBallistic.   We need to do this a few more times a year.
  10. Eats BBQ naked while watching Honey Boo Boo
  11. Got this reposnse from them after I sent an email stating I was pretty disgusted
  12. How about a link?   I must be missing something because I cannot see where they have anything for sale online
  13. Your dad does beautiful work. Definitely turned that gun into a family heirloom.
  14. That is why I left ARFCOM years ago. I let my membership lapse in I think 2009 and only check out the classifieds when I am hunting something in particular.
  15. I passed on a S12 a few months ago for $500. I see S20's for sub $500 regularly. It is really sickening looking at the ad in SGN: Picture from this thread: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/87039-amazing-what-7-years-cn-do-to-prices/
  16. http://centerfiresystems.com/fury.aspx?utm_source=streamsend&utm_medium=email&utm_content=18341661&utm_campaign=Just%2520Arrived%2520-%2520Mosin%2520Nagants%2520and%2520Fury%252012%2520GA%2520Semi%2520Auto%2520Shotguns   Not sure about parts interchangeability or even quality. And fot $699 you know someone is making a lot of profit on that.
  17. If you wanted to improve the country you could do it with just one thing. Remove the "R" and "D", or any other letter, from beside a candidate's name on a ballot.   If you did that it would force people to actually give a crap rather than take the easy way out and vote party lines. And it would put those who are actually educated and responsible in power (I am talking about the populace and not the representative).   We have all seen those videos where people have no clue which presidential candidates are running yet they are excited about voting. How can they get so excited or even want to vote when they do not know who they are voting for. And I suspect the majority of these people will likely vote "D" because they see it as a payday. How can a representative represent the voter if the voter has no clue what their candidate actually believes in. And in all reality it shouldn't even matter what a representative believes in, he should only be concerned what those he represents believe in.    Remove that letter next to their name and then voters will either research who their candidate is or just stay home on election day.   I have zero problem with a person voting for who they want to win as long as they actually know what the candidates name is and not just party affiliation.
  18. You have had your current avatar up as long as I can remember. I can remember you getting all exited about the IDEA of a civillian Tavor. And honestly I never thought it would happen.  Glad to see it has finally become reality.
  19. Actually everything bought from out of state requires that a "Use Tax" be paid. It is the same rate as our state sales tax.
  20.   No. The seller of ammo must collect the tax.
  21. If you are planning on selling reloads you still need to have federal licensing.
  22. Things got short for 4-6 months in 2008 then things started showing up. The shortage was not as widespread and all ammo was still available for the most part. If the shelf was bare of a particular caliber then come back in a few days and it would be on the shelf, except 380 for some reason. You would never go weeks or months without seeing any caliber on the shelf. I could almost always find primers at retailers. I could also find 22lr but it might take a couple of trips to the store to get some.   In 2008 ammo was available but there were a lot more fear mongers then than there is now. The reason is there wasn't really a shortage but those who were gouging were using fear tactics to increase pricing. I seen sellers selling CCI Stingers for $27 a box stating that ammo made after June of 2009 would expire in 6 months and his were pre June.   I think this shortage is because a lot of people are seeing the writing on the wall and are stocking up. Prepping has become mainstream so all those are also buying ammo. Another big reason there is a shortage is because there have been 65 million gun purchases since 2008 and all those people are buying ammo too. And finally I think the recent government contracts are causing a shortage of components. I do not believe those who are buying to sell for a profit are causing this at all.   In 2008 there wasn't really a long term shortage, just fear mongering. Today there is a real shortage but I believe the shortage it is a lot farther up the food chain.
  23. It is because the liberal ones probably have more time on their hands because they are not working. The more conservative ones don't have the time while they are working.   Hope they charge him as an adult. I suspect this isn't the first time he has worn a pair of handcuffs. And he should be glad he is getting charged and not buried.
  24. Great stuff. Nothing better than getting them started young.
  25. I prefer Federal over Winchester for a few reasons. First if you plan on removing the shot and loading it with an actual slug the Winchester needs a new cup while the Federal doesn't. The Federal tends to be more reliable with semi autos. I have both but will only use the Winchester in pumps or single shots from now on.   I need to make some wax slugs for this weekend. I need to make some regular slug loads too. Not sure if I can because I have a lot of other stuff to load first.
