Or when agt.dealer went off the deep end.

It absolutely is worth the trouble. It doesn't take any more effort to spread the word of a bad business than it does a good business. Just mention it in a conversation and it will get around. I promise it will spread like wildfire. When businesses do this and people look the other way it only emboldens them and reinforces their bad behavior. They will continue to do it until someone calls them on it. Then they have a choice, change or suffer the consequences. And by consequences I mean telling every person you know of the bad business. I know I would voice my opinion if I thought I got screwed out of a quarter. I would be telling everyone I knew if this happened to me. Especially if they gave me a FU like this business owner did to his customer. The person refusing to check is one thing but to actually belittle a customer is something that is on a whole other level. He had a customer that already spent money and then the business belittles the customer when he has a problem. If you don't want to help that is fine but belittling customers means you do not deserve to take another dime from that customer.

Some interesting numbers...300BO AR
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Long Guns
It is a very miserly caliber. I can load 875 subsonic round per pound of powder. The cost works out to 4.4 cents per loaded round because I cast as well. I can load 430 supersonic rounds per pound or 7.3 cents a loaded round. It gets the same energy as a 5.56 for 1/3 less powder. That is why I LOVE this caliber and embraced it in full retard mode. -

These are subsonic handloads and hardly close to max pressures. -
Diane Feinstein's and Nancy Pelosi's looks are proof of this. There are times when I find myself wondering how they have children. Then I realize there are at least 8 hours of darkness every day and bags for when it isn't.

So I decided to see how the gas system of an AR would affect velocity. My AR in 300 Blackout has a 16" barrel with a pistol length gas system. I have the ability to turn the gas off so I decided to check what difference there would be in velocity between "ON" and "OFF". GAS ON LOW=1051 HIGH=1063 AVG=1056 ES=11.54 SD=6.08 GAS OFF LOW=1071 HIGH=1090 AVG=1078 ES=19.3 SD=10.44 So there is approximately 15 fps more, on average, when the gas is turned off. What is really surprizing for me is the ES and the SD were both lower with the GAS ON. This tells me that the gas system is a bit more forgiving and probably reducing the high numbers some because there is only 12fps between the high and low with the gas on. While with the GAS OFF the difference is 19 fps.

3D gun files pulled due to potential ITAR violation
Dolomite_supafly replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If the government can come in and force this to be shut down for safety reasons or ITAR violations I guess Paladin Press better close up shop now. And every US based website that tells you how to do something illegal probably needs to be shut down as well. And while they are at it may as well shut down those US sites that even discuss such dangerous things as guns. This is a very, very slippery slope. If this passes muster you will see a lot more people, organizations and websites being forced to shut down under the same ruling. We are about to loose a lot of our freedom of speech. Heck I am suprized someone hasn't applied for a patent after the new ruling that who ever submits it first owns it regardless of who actually designed it. -

Dolomite_supafly replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They can't undo what has been done. Once something is on the internet it is there forever. Personally I see nothing wrong with what they are doing. And I bet that it will stand up to freedom of speech muster. If they are going to limit their ability to release this information then it will be a huge blow to everyone. Imagine if all the other reference materails were pulled off the net. I know they can't but it is easy to limit what someone has access to. IMHO it is not a ITAR issue. It is a freedom of speech issue. -
Wow, this is stuff that needs to happen across the nation. We, as law abiding citizens, should be allowed to own anything we want for any legal use. Problem is most, if not all, people would not risk loosing everything they own as well as their freedom without the backing of a government entity. What act is that? If you are talking about the 1986 ban on sales of new MG to civillians then voiding the 1934 act also voids the 1986 ban.

I say bury them together. Let Frein feed off the rotting carcass of until she, herself, ends up rotting away. Here is another offering a plot in memory of his mother. All I can say is he must really hate his mother. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/05/09/vermont-man-offers-grave-for-deceased-boston-bomber/

Pretty sure there are several Clinton friends buried in Arlington who were nothing more than a large contributor. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

These are the AR's your friends warned you about.

They torked (torqued) the gas block to spec. I wonder if they think there is a milspec standard for them? If there is I have never heard of it. -

Actually the cost to get an FFL is reasonable. -

They are absolutely a bunch of idiots that are doing nothing more than stealing from new gun owners. Throw out a bunch of key words and phrases to sell to new gun owners. They are predators that will quickly turn new gun owners against those gun industry professionals that are actually building a quality product. There is an AR void right now and with any void it brings in a lot more that should have no business filling that void. Just because you can order some parts and produce a gun doesn't mean it is a quality gun. I wonder if they are allowed to use images from army.mil? Seems they have pulled images from there as well as plenty of other places. -

You are seriously flirting with the rules you don't want to violate. And it isn't you that is going to make you violate the law, it will be the customer that leaves their gun overnight. You can do whatever you want but be forewarned you WILL have a customer that is NOT satisfied and that customer WILL call the ATF on you. It isn't like a speeding ticket or even any local charges. The ATF charges people with FEDERAL crimes. And once a customer knows you are operating in a gray area they WILL use that against you. I have looked long and hard for ways to be able to circumvent the FFL requirement and there is no steadfast way of doing it. Only ways you think might keep you out of trouble and in the end it will be up to the agent to determine whether you have broken the law. And even if you are cleared in court you will have tens of thousands of dollars tied up in legal fees. And you are expecting a customer to stand around and wait 6-7 hours? I know I would never stand around that long no matter how good or how cheap something is. And I would NEVER leave a firearm with anyone for work who doesn't have a FFL. If, and when, the ATF secures evidence against you do you think your customers will get their guns back? They might but it will not be for months and likely years. -
Federal 308 in stock .70CPR

How appropriate...CPR :) Seems the supply chain needs some CPR -
I have no intentions of hunting and if I do it will likely be with subsonic cast bullets. I cannot think of any 30 caliber bullet that will expand to 1.3" which is what the permanent would channel will be as the cast bullet tumbles. 10" of barrel is plenty of barrel to get a PROPER bullet to expand. Most 30 caliber hunting bullets are designed to expand at a velocity that is much higher than the 300 Blackout. You cannot take a bullet designed to expand at 2,800+ fps and expect it to perform at 2,200 fps. I know, and have had conversations with, several hog hunters that use SBR's to hunt hogs and they all say it works great. But bullet selection is the key. I would not mind hog hunting but I am several hours away from any place where I could.

Fixed it for you. You can legally make corrections on the spot without having an FFL. You could probably do a "while you wait" service but keeping them overnight will get you in trouble. You could not be mailed a firearm to do repairs on without having a FFL either. -
Never thought I'd say this, but...

I hope it puts an end to the constant slow downs when surfing their website. I was shopping for some recoil springs the other day and it literally took me 20 minutes to get them added to the cart when it shouldn't have taken more than a few minutes. Constant slow downs. I have zero problem with making all buyers, individuals and resellers, put a little effort into getting what they need. Maybe if these resellers have to spend a few hours a day searching they will quit. I also like the fact that it puts me on the same, level playing field as everyone else. It gives people who normally can't buy it before it is sold out, like the OP, a chance to actually find it in stock. Now it is quite possible for the OP to click on an item and it will be in stock because there are not 25,000 people getting an email all at once saying it is in stock. I see this as a good thing. -
With a 16" barrel a Savage action is actually very short so no real need to SBR one. I have left handed and right handed rifled actions. My left handed action will be a bench/prone gun while my right handed action will be more of a general use rifle. A 300 Blackout doesn't need a 16" barrel to shoot subsonics or even supersonics so the Striker is the great platform for that without going through the SBR process. I just think the Striker will fill a niche for me that my rifles can't. Heck if I could find a way to do it, and yes I have researched, I would build a revolver in 300 Blackout. I already have several Form 1's waiting to be approved. The Striker will allow me to use it like I do my suppressed Cricket pistol just on a bigger scale.

So I have toyed with the idea of getting one for some years now. Well about a week ago the bug really hit and I bagan the search. I contacted the seller of every one that has been for sale in the last 18 months on Armslist. Dozens of emails as well as dozens of cold calls to no less than a dozen states finally resulted in one. I got a call last night from a gentleman that indeed had one for sale we discussed it and I decided to sleep on it before making the decision. Well this morning I notified him I would take it. We are working out the shipping details and I hope to have it by next weekend to begin the transformation. What are my plans? Do I really need to say? 300 Blackout! It is in 7mm-08 but that will change because I will be building a 300 Blackout. It will result in a gun that is more compact than a rifle yet capable of anything a rifle can when shooting subsonics as well as most supersonics. It will have a 8.5"-9.5" bull barrel that is ~.900" in diameter with a straight taper that will be threaded for a suppressor. I am debating on what to use for aiming but I am really seriously considering a set of irons. I got a killer deal on a set of new Williams front and rear from a handi rifle. I think they would work great when mounted to the barrel but it would mean I could also mount optics. I am unsure whether the gun will keep its current stock or if I will cut down a rifle stock. I honestly like the idea of a tactical Striker. Maybe a McCree presicion without the rifle stock attached so I can use detachable magazines. For those of you who do not know what a Savage Striker is Pictures from here: http://www.armslist.com/posts/1213434/columbia-south-carolina-handguns-for-sale--savage-striker-7mm-08

If this news story about this LEO is true...

That would be the minimum. Other penalties would still apply. I am just getting tired of seeing people kill someone and getting a few years in jail, if that. -
45ACP. lead cast bullets. Hardness ratings.
Dolomite_supafly replied to vujade's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have about one more month before I start casting again. After my recent high lead levels I needed to give my body a chance to get back to normal. -
It was good enough for Osama so do the same with him. Drop him from a few thousand feet above sea level and feed the fish. Or maybe use him as feed at a local pig farm. Then make a public announcement that he was a radical jihadist and that any other radical jihadist caught doing harm to the US would share the same fate. All those Muslims who claim they are peaseful and not affiliated or support any radicalized Muslim should not be bothered by any of this. Those that actually are radicalized are going to be easy to pick out to suffer the same fate.
