It is their property and they can do whatever they want with it providing it is safe, tall grass is not unsafe. If a persona wants to put 1,000 pink flamingos in their yard it is their right as property owners. If they don't want to cut the grass that is their right. If you don't like it you have every right to move.

I know you can load 147 grain 9mm bullets to 1,200+ fps using VV 3N38. It is even in their load manual. I shot a lot of these in a G17 and they showed no signs of pressure. No smilies either. You could tell a difference between a full and empty gun. The last round in the mag felt like a 357 magnum.

Explain "not ejecting at all". It it remaining on the bolt face? Is it falling off the bolt face and just staying inside the receiver?

how long is too long?
Dolomite_supafly replied to ANDERSON MEDIC's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I got everything out but it took me about 30 minutes to do. It isn't ruined but the inside isn't as nice looking anymore. I use Lil'Gun in my 300 Blackout but I think I am going to try a different powder now that I am into my last pound of it. I am going to start using H4227 to try to resolve an issue with molten lead when firing. I don't think it is powder related but we shall see. -
Bullets cut in half. Name these bullets

The flechette round was tested in the 60's as a way of extending the range of the rounds. Turned out to be very ineffective at stopping people. It was like a icepick or large needle so the body would easily be able to clot any wound without much blood loss. I see a 9mm ball and a solid copper round, maybe CorBon DPX, no clue. The round with the BB's is a Magtech or Magsafe polymer encapsulated pellets. It was in response to the Glaser Safety Slug which is farther down. The red plastic one is a traning, primer only, round. I think I see a Webley 455 next to the training round. And the Glazer at the bottom. I would REALLY, REALLY like to know what the blue plastic one is. I would have normally guessed some sort of training round but the fuse or spotter mechanism in the nose removes that thought. Maybe, because of the red tip, it is a training tracer. There is a page, I can't find right now, that has hundreds of these cutaways. I sat there for close to an hour in amazement at what people have thought up. -
how long is too long?
Dolomite_supafly replied to ANDERSON MEDIC's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Yes it is. It is in my house, not in the garage or outside. It is evidentally Lil'Gun that does it. I have now read a few other reports of Lil'Gun harming other plastic dispensers. -
So I wonder how long before they start charging people with federal crimes for complaining? Yet another instance where the government, this time our state government, is using threats to silence critics. And here we thought Tennessee was one of the better states but it seems as though our great state has jumped onto the tyrannical bandwagon. After all it is to scare someone with the threat of jail than fix the problem. Honestly at what point will it progress that you cannot question anything without fear of being prosecuted. My wife and I were saying earlier that you have to be careful what you say and who you say it to. I am not one to generally get too worked up about stuff like this but this is insane. In the link there is an audio recording of a meeting. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/06/21/official-says-water-complaints-act-of-terrorism/2445071/

Giving this a bump with a warning. I went to remove the Lil'Gun powder and it had actually melted into the plastic of my RCBS dispenser. The plastic powder baffle I was using was firmly glued in place as well. I would caution against leaving powder in a dispenser any longer than a day or two -
Yet another benefit program for those who served. I am all for it but for most of these it is all about making money and not actually helping. For those of you who have and do support the WWP go look at their financials. It is 100% about making people rich and not that much about those who were wounded anymore. I would like to hear of anyone who has been helped by them. I know I have contacted them on several occassions for different reasons and never once got a response. I suspect this will be used as a political tool or as a means for someone to feel good about themselves while they line their pocket. Follow the money, it will always lead you to the truth.

If you are going to shoot pistol only grab wheel weights. They work fine. Make sure to cut each weight with a set of loppers to weed out the zinc weights. Use Lee Alox to lube. And use precautions when casting and handing. Caster is the go to guy for casting but it is pretty easy.

Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
Dolomite_supafly replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
And after setting the M80 off scream that her gun must have loaded itself and then shot you. I bet she doesn't own ammo out of fear the gun might load itself without her knowing. -
He lists his occupation here as a truck driver. In the CL ad he says he is a truck driver. Both are from Nashville. Too man coincidences. And BTW, kbo9633 I am giving you 24 hours so you have a chance to read the email and PM's sent reagrding advertising without being a benefactor.

Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
Dolomite_supafly replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Go look at every mass murderer in the last 20 years. Then look at their political/social affiliation. Not saying all liberals are bad but it is the liberal mindset that fueled those murders. I suspect this isn't going to end well unless she keeps the gun unloaded. -

No stitches, my wife can't sew that well without a machine and I think it would be hard to get my leg in there. I am going to take a picture every day until it is healed and make a small 30 second time lapse movie. -
NFA Trust 101
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dustbuster's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
So even if another person lives in the same house you are supposed to prevent them from having access? Another question, is there any way I can give a friend or two unfettered access to NFA items I have access to? I wrote a letter to the ATF with that exact same question last year and never got a response. I know they have to be people I trust and I do. -
Be careful turning treated wood without a mask, can be very bad. The stuff they use to treat can also be very bad for humans. As a person who used to turn a lot of bowls I will say the dust from any wood can cause problems. Most times it is just a cough or really dry nose but that has lead to some serious chest colds for me in the past. Also, be mindful the hemlock dust can kill. Not everybody is affected by it but a substantial portion of the population is. Mimosa is another wood that is miserable. The dust/smoke that comes off of it reminds me of CS gas. Good looking stick. I miss the days when I would forget about everything and turn a bowl.

Powder coating the easy way
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Yes, that is where I got the red I used initially. -
Another problem with the CMMG is the gas block pad is .936. If you run certain gas blocks you cannot run a free float tube.

Powder coating the easy way
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have found that black seems to be the hardest to get looking right. And I imagine flat black would be even harder. I have coated some sure lead bullets and shot them. Normally they would smear all down the bore but not when coated. This opens up a world of versatility because pure lead will mushroom as well as any hollow point. -

Left calf on the outside. Just like if you brushed up against something as you were walking.
