Russian force to provide "security" at US events

Yeah, you just need to make it "air tight" with aluminum foil. Here is a pretty good video on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb-Y0gtpkpc -

You can build a faraday cage or you can throw your items in a metal trash can. They are supposed to work. -
BTW, it wasn't me. It was someone else and if they want to let you know they will.

The other board is a 300 Blackout forum I am a kind of active on. http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/index.php -
I suspect the problem will be resolved soon Wyldk2. It is against the rules to advertise stuff for sale without being a benefactor and especially in regular threads. Had a benefactor has a WTB ad and you responded that is perfectly fine but throwing it out unprovoked is against the rules without being a benefactor. I am sure you weren't really aware of it and that is why I said what I did rather than give you some warning points. I figured I would say what I said so you would get annoyed by the 1/2 dozen people that are probably going to PM you about your free ammo. Everyone has seen hard times, don't care who you are. And you have a friend out there that is going to help you. That is something we all need to do right now.

Glad to see you are giving your extra ammo away.

After seeing the previous post I was reading about the new SU35 and it is amazing, especially compared to our newest fighters. Most everything our fighters can do the SU35 can do better and for about 1/2 the cost. There are a few things our aircraft can do better but from what I have read the SU35 is a better aircraft overall than anything we have or will have. As a matter of fact a lot of countries that had placed orders for our newest fighter have since cancelled and are ordering SU35 aircraft instead. I always assumed WE were on the cutting edge of technology when it comes to our military but it seems that may not be the case. I welcome anyone to read up on the SU35, it surprized the hell out of me. http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-Su-35S-Flanker.html http://www.newaustralia.net/defence_airforce.html

Had a very disturbing conversation last night
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Anyone who has been in LE for any amount of time can pick out other LE. Even former LE are easy to pick out if they have done it for any amount of time. It is easy in person by how they stand and only gets easier when they speak. Voice only is a little more difficult but you can still hear little things here and there that are clues. I wasn't 100% sure, but had an idea, until he said he was LE then everything came together. Anyone who has been in LE, as TN-popo can attest, can spot fellow officers off duty because of how they hold themselves as well as how they talk and act. Some are harder and some easier but they all give off little clues. -

I don't want to take too much credit. I learned of this on Cast Boolits and figured I would pass along my experiences. -

Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
I have listened to him for about a week now on a game server I have started playing on. He doesn't spew this nonsense unless it comes up. He is NOT a troll and he IS in LE. He has all the mannerisms and nuances most anyone who has been in LE has. This is the same kind of attitude that contributed to me leaving LE for good. This is not to bash LE because 90% of them are great people who actually care and want to do what is right. The other 10% give the 90% a bad name with their antics. -
A few days ago I was in a voice chat online when the conversation turned to Barrett 50's. At that point I mentioned the fact Ronnie Barrett refused to service any of his weapons on California since they banned them. And this one guy said "F**K Barrett, we need those weapons for when we have the Oscars and other events like that". I honestly thought the guy was being sarcastic because of his tone of voice. And this is what has upset me for the last 24 hours now. Then last night the conversation came up about bullet buttons and high capacity magazines being illegal in California. This guy is from California and bragged about having high capacity magazines and AR's without bullet buttons. He went down a laundry list of weapons and when asked why he can have them he said he was a police officer. I asked why he is allowed to have high capacity magazines as well as AR's and we are not. His response, word for word, was "I have the right to protect myself and you don't". He went on to say that no "civilian" should be allowed to own a high capacity magazine, semi automatic rifle or any firearm at all. He said assault weapons are a weapon of war and belong on the battlefield, not on the streets even though he carries one every day. He said the only thing a "civilian" should be given permission to own is a flintlock and if a person wanted to they could put a picatinny rail on it. He went on to say "I can use whatever means necessary to protect myself from you civilians", his words not mine, "and no civilian should have the right to protect themselves". He said that is what his job was. He was asked about his response times and he said his units average response time was 7 minutes. He was then asked what happens when he isn't there to protect us. He said that doesn't matter and that we should not protect ourselves while we wait. He said he has worked for LAPD for 18 years and is a liberal through and through that has guns. He threw out all the popular Feinstein and Pelosi catch phrases. I can't imagine how many "civilians" he has treated badly or used excessive force because he has a "right" to do so or that because he believes we are less of a human being than him. He probably is right, he probably does need to worry about protecting himself if he believes he has a right to protect himself from "civilians" that have no right to protect themselves. I am not upset at the fact he doesn't think we should own high capacity magazines or "assault weapons". It is the fact that he believes he has the right to protect himself and I do not. Or that there is two standards, his and everyone else's.

I did a quick look at every major or mass killer in the last 20 years. Nearly every single one supports the Democratic agenda or are a liberal Democrat themselves. I have ever heard some say they don't like guns because they are afraid they couldn't control themselves if they had one. This proves to me they have some sort of mental deficit if they are afraid an inanimate object will force them to do something. If Zimmerman gets aquitted there will be rioting in the streets. This maybe the spark that starts the country on fire. We may not see it in our communities or where we live here but we will feel the effects of it.

Guy number 1 did get out of his car first. Guy number 2 should have just drove off but because he didn't, for whatever reason, he is not the one in the wrong. The guy who got out first and was aggressive is the one who is. If some bat crap crazy guy gets out of his car and is coming towards me off I will try to drive off. If I can't then I have to prevent him from harming me and the best way to end a fight is with overwhelming amount of force. That is what this sounds like, guy 1 was being aggressive towards guy 2 and guy 2 put an end to it very quickly.

Back in the 80's I read in a Hot Rod magazine about a guy who developed a new intake/exhaust system for Chevrolets. He was selling them for more than a conventional head so it never really took off. It was a solid rod that ran through the cylinder heads front ot back. It had holes drilled through the solid rod. The rods were geared to the crank to keep everything in time. It was setup like a OHC setup except it didn't open valves but lined the ports up. The holes were drilled and contoured so that at the right time it was allowing access to the cylinder on the intake side and the exhaust on the exhaust side just like a camshaft would. And by modifying where the ports were in the rod and how long they were exposed to the ports it affected things like duration. There was no worry about camshaft lift and interference with the pistons like a normal engine. And because there was no valvtrain it allowed higher rpm's. For some reason it also allowed a much higher compression ratio to be used with pump gas. I remember their test engine had a 14.7:1 ratio and they reported it would run on 93 octane. They aslo reported that the engine would spin above 10K where normally it would spin to about 6K. I have looked high and low for this and can't seem to see it anywhere on the internet now.

Ford tried this back in the 80's but they were using electrically driven solenoids. They said they were too noisy and with engine heat were unreliable. These guys have solved that. What is amazing about this is the profile of the intake and exhaust can be changed easily and instantly through electronic mapping. You can have a very miserly profile then have a max power profile. Or as you mash the gas to pass someone the profile changes on the fly to provide more power. What is also amazing is 30% less fuel consumption with 30% more power along with 50% less emmisions. What else is amazing is the idea of using the engine as a motor that runs on pressurized air. And one more thing is it doesn't require a starter. In Ford's experiments they could open some of the valves so the starter had less resistence. In this one they could use the air pressure to turn the motor over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Bch5B23_pu0

Full length sizing die question
Dolomite_supafly replied to Sidinman's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
And tell your neighbor to quit using the lube he is using. For CHEAP lube make your own. All you need is a spray bottle, 100% pure lanolin and isopropyl alchohol of at leat 91%. The higher the percentage the better. Get 100% pure lanolin and at least 91% rubbing alcohol, the higher the better. Then mix the two in a 8:1 or 10:1 ratio with the alcohol being the bigger and the lanolin being the smaller. Heat a pot of water on the stove until it is too hot to keep your hand in it. Then remove it from heat and let it set for a few minutes to equalize. Set the lanolin and alcohol in the hot water with the caps loosened. Leave them for about 15 minutes in order to heat up. This makes the lanolin more liquid like and helps it disolve in the alcohol. Put 1/2 the alcohol in the spray bottle then add all of the lanolin. Then pour the remaining alcohol in the spray bottle. Then cap it off and shake vigorously for a few minutes until it is mixed well. It should not seperate even after cooling. And to use it all you have to do is spray it on the cases and let is sit long enough for the alcohol to evaporate. The higher the % of alcohol the quicker it evaporates. Dolomite -
I have started powder coating my bullets. It is as simple as tumble lube and a lot quicker. I do not store ammo so I have no clue on how long they will last. I am sure temperature makes a huge difference because lubes will melt if hot enough.

Get rid of the buffer if you have one in the rear of the receiver. I have seen some guns that the buffer was thick enough to affect ejection. Other than that then it probably is the ejector.

GPS stolen out of my truck and wifes car
Dolomite_supafly replied to c.a.willard's topic in General Chat
I would have reported it and filed a police report. Even without a serial number you can still identify it. If they have a name with the item stolen and they catch some dirtbag with those items they will call and have you come identidy it, or at least should. -

I have no clue but I suspect the bullet would not be getting any heat transfer from the barrel unless it sat in a hot chamber for a while. I am not a mag dump kind of guy so I never thought about that. -

One more thing. I loaded some of those little 100 grain bullets that I said looked awful. I loaded them to a scientific term we shall call "Oh my God is this thing going to blow up in my hand" using my 300 Blackout bolt gun. (Not really but they were HOT!) I am not going to reveal the recipe because it likely ruined every single piece of brass I shot. And after firing a single shot in my AR I felt really bad and the AR load was eventually 1.5 grains less than the bolt gun max load. I did this to see just how fast I can push these powder coated bullets before they start leading. Well after about 20 rounds I had ZERO, NADA, NOTHING as far as lead goes in the bore. Something else is before I had some issues with molten lead at the case mouth and that is also gone. -

With Alox it doesn't need to get into the grooves, the grooves are for standard lube. Either way it sounds like neither of us will use the stuff again. -

Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
If your rounds are sticky you are using WAY, WAY too much Alox. The bullets should barely be discolored. I normally put 1/2 my bullets in a bucket then add what I think is enough Alox then I put the other 1/2 in and sometimes I still think I get too much on there. I am doing this because I poisoned myself earlier this year with lead. -
I have worn my share of women's undergarments although never panties. I always had pantyhose for times when I knew I would be making some long walks. They keep blisters at bay on your feet and keep your legs from getting chaffed. They also add a layer of warmth in winter. Crisco makes a great candle. Depending on the size of the can it can last for days. A trash bag will keep you a lot warmer. I know we would use large trash bags pulled up over our feet to keep us a lot warmer. I have also had friends use body bags to do the same thing. You can build a sand filter pretty easily to clear cloudy water. It is not yet safe to drink but then you can purify it by putting it in a clear container and leaving it in the sun for a day. The natural UV light will kill all the bad organisms in the water. There is enough fresh water left in a house to last a few weeks. ALWAYS keep Bic lighters on hand. Even if they run out of fluid they can still be used to spark.
