Having happy customers isn't that hard. I believe the vast majority of customers want to be happy and it takes very little to keep them happy. I think it also takes a lot to upset a customer enough that they refuse to come back. I have seen it a lot where people swear they will never go into a certain shop then go back the first time the shop has a sale. Then there are some customers that will never be happy no matter what the shop does. And honestly if the OP waited 1/2 as long as she did for a simple phone call then that is unexcuseable on the part of the shop and she has every right to be upset. But as I said before I would like ot hear the other side of the story because the truth is rarely told by one side but is generally a mix of the two. Personally I have been in Austin's once. I didn't see anything that jumped out as obnoxious but his prices were not as cheap as some other places. I will say his unwillingness to haggle on used stuff was something I personally didn't care for. I also watched him offer a customer an insanely low amount for a used gun then would not haggle when the customer countered.

My First AR Build - Complete

What was the final weight on it? Less than your Sig? Good looking rifle and I am glad I could help, now you need to go sling some rounds down range. -
Powder coating the easy way

You are probably using too much powder. Mine grow .001"-.002" and I think I am still using too much powder. And that is no big deal with the bullet size you are starting with. -

LAQUER THINNER IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE USED RATHER THAN ACETONE. In case anyone missed it the first few times. -
Powder coating the easy way

Using a gun to powder coat is A LOT more involved than the laquer thinner method. The laquer thinner method is both easier and quicker than Alox. I can go from uncoated bullets to ready to load in under 15 minutes. Alox takes a lot longer than that. And they actually look pretty good as well. -

Place it on a pound of Tannerite. An explosion with red powder would be cool. -
I used to smoke a lot of cigars, I mean 2-3 a week. Everybody talked about Cubans but I never really liked them. Maybe it was because they were forbidden fruit but I have had them several different times over the years and they were never as good as some of the others I smoked. I got old ones while in the states and "fresh" ones while overseas. I tried the Acid brand and never liked it, the smoke seemed to burn too much. H Upman was another I never really cared for, wasn't bad but just not my preference. I liked maduros as well. The Monte Cristo and Cohiba brands are pretty good, smoked a lot of those. Probably the one brand I smoked the most was Romeo Y Julieta, mostly because of availability. All this quit the day I HAD to run about a 1/2 mile and thought the run was going to kill me. I had always been a runner but the combination of smoking cigars and 8,000+ foot elevation almost did me in.

I pull them out or I use the clippers when I am cutting my hair.

Just so you are aware you are not guaranteed any First Amendment right of freedom of speech here. You are NOT allowed to say whatever you want here under the guise of the First Amendment here. The First Amendment protects you from government abuses. We are a private entity and as such we can edit, delete or do whatever we want with your posts here and you have ZERO recourse. In the same way you can limit what someone can say in your living room of your home we can limit what you say here. We are generally tolerant of what people say but that is OUR choice, not your right. As far as reporting the guns stolen you could have found yourself in some trouble legally. The gun was not stolen and by reporting it stolen you would have filed a false report. It was a civil matter, not criminal, and trying to get LE and the courts involved in a civil matter is wrong no matter what they did or didn't do to your gun. I know how frustrating it can be but involving LE in matters they should not be involved in is not the way to go. Welcome to the board.

Probably a good thing you didn't go to Frontier. Funny how things that don't seem right at first are a blessing in desguise. This picture is from this posting here. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/43360-front-sight-staked-like-a-vampire-until-dead/

I call BS on this one. It would be too much of a hassle to keep track of who has taken off and who hasn't. It is likely scare tactics. I seen it when I was in. Seems like every other year we were told we might not get a paycheck for a month or two if the government didn't pass a budget. I never had a paycheck that was late.

Actually there are a lot of free float tubes that use the original barrel nut. Gieselle, Noveske, Rainier, some of the Midwest Industry and a few others all use the orginal barrel nut. They clamp onto the original barrel nut after you remove the delta ring and spring assembly. It is actually a pretty ingenius design and if you look at my wife's 9mm AR next time we get together you can see the setup. I would get a clamp on gas block before one that is held in place by setscrews. The one you have pictured is the one to get.

Trout Fishing (Wading) Near Morristown
Dolomite_supafly replied to Paladin132's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Holston river has trout. My friends and I have caught quite a few over the years. It is about 30 minutes from Morristown. It is the river Cherokee dam releases into. You might have to go a little farther to get away from the dam. -
I am not sure I could have been as calm. I know I would have used the tazer a little earlier and not with a contact shot. I would have stood back a few feet and fired the probes that way he can squirm his way out of it. Then he would have taken that 50K volt ride until he stepped out of his vehicle voluntarily. This probably would have been less tramatic for the kid than having an officer lean over her while trying to fight someone the kid loves. And the guy himself is a sorry excuse for a parent/roll model for several reasons. First, if he exposed the kid to drugs by either smoking it or having it in the car he needs to go to jail. Second, by not complying in a calm manner he has likely traumatized the child for life.

I am so lucky I live where I do. If the same thing happened to me I would have yelled to try to scare it off. If that didn't work I would fire a shot into the ground and if it is obvious it is stalking me it would get one between the two green dots but only after verifying it isn't something that isn't a threat. Something that big and closing is a threat. Matter of fact we go through this process pretty regularly. I am grabbing a gun as I have my wife "count the cats". BTW, we only have two cats now but had four at one point. I live in a pretty rural area and there is nothing good that would be on my property trying to stalk me. We have seen bear from time to time and one of our neighbors that lives a 1/4 mile away had rottweilers killed on their chain. I am sure there might be a cat or two, not mountain lion but bobcat, and a 30+ pound cat is going to leave a mark no matter who you are. We also have coyote CLOSE but have never seen one.

AND THE WINNERS ARE: 1ST BAREWOOF 2ND SIDIMAN 3RD NRA37922 and FIELD BOSS The random number was 57 and 1st was off by one, 2nd off by two and a tie for third with thiers being off by 7. Winners please contact me with your shipping information so I can get them out as soon as possible. And remember if you did not win you can order them here: http://www.tngunowne...vement-kits-13/ As always, they come with a 100% no fault money back guarantee. If you ask for a refund for any reason or no reason you will get a refund. These also work on AR-10's, MG's and most other AR15 style weapons. They work on Sig AR's including the 716. How it works: It works by applying pressure to the bottom of the rear of the trigger with a setscrew. This lifts the rear of your trigger up against the safety lever and preloads your trigger removing most, if not all, of the pre travel. To check to see if this will help your trigger do this. Unload and place your rifle on safe. Pull the trigger while it is on safe. The amount of movement is what will be removed by this kit. What it does: Creates a trigger that has a very short take up similar to a quality bolt action rifle Installs in less than 10 minutes with basic hand tools Increases accuracy potential by eliminating the take up in the trigger What is doesn’t do: Permanently alter your firearm Decrease trigger pull Create an unsafe firearm if installed properly

The problem is with such a large case you are, at a minimum, going to run into inconsistency issues. I did a test once where I pointed the muzzle to the air and shot across a chronograph then pointed at the ground and shot. Both shots were significantly off. The one where the powder was at the rear of the case had higher velocities and the nose down shot had reduced velocities. Something else that can happen is something called Secondary Explosive Effect. What happens there is rather than the powder burning at a constant rate it ignites completely and explodes all at once. This can destroy the gun just like a over charge can. My suggestion is to find another caliber that has a smaller case capacity. They also make adapter to allow you to shoot 32 ACP out of a 30-06. Not sure how accuracy is but it is safer than running reduced loads. Here is the chamber insert for $15: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/rifle-chamber-insert.aspx?a=471502

You know how to spot them from personal experience? :)

I just hope there is a flood onto our shores of all those old 74's, even if in parts.

Not expecting anything but you MUST cover all possibilities. My phones have way too much information on them for me to loose it because I didn't do something simple.

SMP842 will work but velocities will be 200 fps lower than an appropiate powder for supersonic. It works for subsonic loads as well but only if you have a pistol length gas system AND a 16" barrel. H110 is better powder all the way around than SMP842. Plenty of people use H110 for subsonics.

My best groups have always been with uncrimped rounds.
-
I do not crimp anything except SHTF ammo and realistically there was no reason to. I do not crimp my semi auto rounds, rifle or pistol, or rounds for my bolt guns. Personally I think using neck tension is a better option because it doesn't deform the bullet like a crimp can sometimes do. I use a neck sizer and a body sizer as seperate dies. I take .002" off the neck sizing mandrel to provide more neck tension. With pistol rounds I only remove the bell. My 300 Blackout loads, jacketed as well as cast, do not get crimped at all either. BTW, my crimped SHTF ammo had the smallest SD I have ever had. Not sure if it was the crimp, the powder I have never tried before or the primers but the stars aligned perfectly to produce the numbers.
