  1.     The fumes are actually heavier than air so they will reach the deepest reaches of the nest. The last nest I had I stuck the tube from Great Stuff as far down the hole as it would go and gave it a few second burst. I have also used adhesive spray on them and it keeps them from flying as well as sticks them at the entrance of the hole.
  2. Right now I am having some hummus for breakfast. For lunch I will likely be having a black bean burger with mayo, lettuce and some pepper jack cheese on whole grain bread. It is one of the most amazing things I have eaten in recent history. I initially ordered one at Lenny's Sub Shop to try and thought it was amazing so I found the patties at Walmart. Takes about 10 minutes to have a great tasting, and good for you, meal.   I haven't had bacon in a very, very long time. And the last time I did it was mixed in with a weakness of mine, brownies. There is nothing better on this earth than brownies with bacon mixed in. I buy the bacon pieces for salads and mix it in with a pack of bronie mix then bake like normal. Bacon is one of those things that makes everything better.   My biggest problem with bacon is it tastes very salty and I hate salt. There is enough salt in the food most people eat every day to last them a week.     Bisquits were never really a favorite of mine. When I do have a bisquit it is generally with a little bit of honey and maybe some butter, really butter.   The tofu we eat isn't that bad or at least that is what I keep telling myself. :)  And tofu, if prepared correctly, is actually pretty damn good. It takes on the flavors it is cooked with, like mushrooms, so it is easy to get it to taste good but getting the right texture is another story though. It is possible but I haven't figured it out. I will say that our son, who eats a lot of chicken, was fooled by some premade "chicken" strips made out of tofu. And honestly I could not tell the difference other than is wasn't as tough as chicken often is. It tasted great and had the appearance and texture of chicken. And soy seems to be one of those "super foods" that does a lot of good things.   The only time we eat meat of any kind is when we go out to eat which is a few times a week. And even then we are mindful of what we eat. I do not recall the last time I had any type of red meat.   Even with all my sensible eating my cholesterol is still elevated according to the doctors. I think that each person is unique and their cholesterol levels are as unique as the person. My grandfather had cholesterol levels in the 500's for as long as they have been checking and he lived well into his 70's. My father's has ALWAYS been above 450 and he is 67 now. Mine are in the 220-240 range pretty regularly. My wife, who eats pretty much the same things I do, has her levels in the <180 range so I think genetics plays a role in levels.   Seriously though I have always been mindful of what I eat. I try to avoid salt like the plague and my blood pressure hovers around 100-120/60-70. My resting heart rate is in the 50-55 bpm range.
  3. At least we are moving in the right direction by closing diplomatic posts. 90% of our embassy buildings should be vacant because there is no need for diplomatic relations with countries that would be considered our enemies 50 years ago.   Along with closing those posts we should also be cutting aid. If we cannot safely stay in a country then they should not get any of our money.
  4. The best, yes BEST, ammo to use in a 22 pistol if that is all you have for defense is the Aguila 60 grain SSS. It creates a larger permanent wound channel and penetrates over 8" into gelatin. It tumbles immediately upon impact if it is not already tumbling in the air. Stingers are the worst choice because they need barrel length to get the velocities they claim. I have chornographed a lot of the "hyper velocity" stuff in short barrels and most will not break 1,050 fps. Combine that will the 30-32 grain bullet and you have what is equal to a 22 short.   Second choice would be the CCI Velocitor. It too suffers from reduced velocities in the short barreled pistols but it also has a 40 grain bullet which works well for going deep.   I have chronographed the SSS in a Taurus PLY22 and it average 790 fps. May not seem like a lot but that is within 25 fps of what is chronographs in most rifles.   Here are a few videos of the SSS in gelatin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GwRgIpbflA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T10BMy6oq0
  5.   The biggest cost of all those brown and blackout outs was all the babies that were born 9 months later. I remember seeing an article that births significantly increased in the time period 9 months after the major NE blackout that lasted a day or two.   If power goes down for a week, month or longer I am probably going to be ok. As far as the mobs coming to loot my house they have years worth of looting before they reach me and even then they will be driven back. Me and a few neighbors have spoke of the plans. If things get that bad we will drop a few trees across the road to prevent access. Then we will pretend like there is nothing beyond those trees.   People are going to survive, we always do. But it will be those who already rely on others to survive who are going to have the hardest time. As TMF said the time when people are going to become aggressive is when they think they are going to starve but still have the energy to fight for other's supplies. Even when people are so starved they can barely move there is still a readily available food source to them because when people start dying from starvation others will use it as a food source.   But long before people starve because of lack of food they are probably going to die of dehydration or from diseases. Disease or illness associated with consuming contaminated water, contaminated food or from poor sanitation will cause massive deaths relatively quickly. It will happen long before people begin to think they are starving. People will become very sick and because they will have diarrhea  they will crap pretty much anywhere they go and they are increasing everyone else's exposure to disease when they do. Go look at Rowanda when they had widespread disease. People became infected with bacterial diarrhea and because they were crapping EVERYWHERE it served to infect even more. People were literally falling over and dying as they waited for aid. I think widespread disease will be the biggest cause of deaths after a major disaster that lasts longer than a few weeks.
  6. 50+50+100+100/4=75     Passing   0+0+100+100/4=50         Failing   It is all about the being able to pass a child that does not deserve to be passed. No Child Left Behind has ensured our children are being dumbed down. The teachers now need to ensure more children pass so they are not punished.
  7. Plus. Carrying a firearm is not protected in the same way religion, race, sex, handicapped...etc Your second amendment protections are from the giv and not from other private entities. On someone else's private property you are not guaranteed any second amendment protections. It only protects you from infringement from the gov. If you want to truly exercise your second amendment rights walk into any government building. That is what the second amendment protects you against, not another private party.
  8. Who is that running and gunning?
  9. My SR22 shoots extremely well and is accurate as my MK pistols.   The only thing I hate, yes HATE, is the fact you cannot buy the threaded barrel from Ruger. Before I bought mine I was assured they would be available but now they have changed their tune. They told me how much they will cost but they said if my gun came with a non threaded barrel then that is the only barrel they would install. And they said they would not sell a barrel to anyone, only fit it from the factory.
  10. Where he can ride his multicolored unicorn and snort his pixie dust.   He, and his type, are the biggest threat to this nation.
  11. His mother should have aborted him but failed to do the "right thing" 65 years ago. I say he is a perfect example of a later, as in later in life, term abortion.
  12. I use a foam ear plug between the stock and barrel on some of my guns to reduce harmonics. Takes some testing but you can significantly reduce your groups by reducing harmonics. I don't see why these would not work.
  13. Why not just respect their wishes even if it isn't properly posted? It is their property and they make the choice in what and how you can or cannot carry or come on their property. If they say you must wear a pink tutu and use Nerf guns for self defense to enter then that is what you must do. If you refuse to do that and refuse to leave when asked, regardless of the reason, you are in violation of the trespassing law. There is nothing worse for us than being caught breaking the rules. And honestly why would you want to support a business that doesn't allow you to carry. People talk about principles but push them by the wayside when it becomes a minor inconvince. As much as it has upset those with me I very, very rarely enter a business that is posted.
  14. As in 4 days from now?   If so then yes I could use your help.
  15. The staff is NOT what makes and keeps this place great. It is the members that make this board what it is. The members here are pretty good at weeding out the trash or letting the staff know about it. Yes the staff does a lot behind the scenes to keep this place going but the feel of the board comes from its members both in how they act as well as how they hold other members to act in the same way. I was a member of ARFCOM since very early on. And in the beginning it was a great board to share information. Now it is full of immature, mall ninjas who are wannabe operators. They thrive on drama and are quicker to flame that to help. I quit paying my membership a few years ago after close to s decade and rarely visit.
  16. Why not just call the TWRA in the region you plan on hunting in? Get their name when you get the answer. Red lasers are useless during the day except when you are really close. Most green lasers designed for firearms are visible to about 50 yards during the day.
  17. When I was overseas they had mortars that worked similarly. The guy I was talking to said they would plug the GPS into the warhead then shoot the mortor as high as they could in the direction of the target and it would guide itself back down. Something else I never knew we had until I was over their was laser guided mortars. They worked pretty much the same way except they guided themselves towards a parget that was laser designated.
  18. LOL. Kind of like pissing in the snow.
  19. Looks like about .006138 MOA at 100 meters.
  20. A 1.8 M group at 30,000 M is equal to a .006" group at 100 meters.
  21.     I think it is a little more precise than .015 MOA. Still working on the calculations but it seems like it is a bit smaller making it even more amazing.
  22. The only parts the solvent might harm is the stocks and maybe the trigger guard if it is plastic. The rest can be soaked in solvent. Non chlorinated carb cleaner would also work really well for removing the paint from metal parts.   Are you sure it is a stainless gun? Reason I ask I would be worried someone decided to sand the finish before painting it. I have seen it before.
  23. I am needing something taken from Knoxville to Nashville.   It is not something I am selling but giving to someone who really needs it right now. It is small, LEGAL, and would not cost you any more time or money to take.   And if you did I would owe you a huge debt.
  24. When I say compressed air I mean from a compressor and not those cheesy cans of air. At 115 psi and the right tip a air nozzle can do a pretty good job of knock carbon and crud loose without even using WD40.   For the longest time I used a blasting cabinet loaded with walnut hulls. It was tough enough to cut through the crude without damaging the finish.
