  1. I am about 99.9%, but not 100%, positive they can be mailed in state.
  2. If people want to try Team Speak I can set that up really easily. Matter of fact I have a few friends who already run a TS server that we could try out first.
  3. I am considering hosting a Team Speak server. For as many people as we generally have in chat I can get one for a few bucks a month that will cover everyone. It would require a download but after that it really is a simple program and it gives you voice as well if you want to talk instead of type. Definitely need to find something else before too much longer.
  4. Knoxville Tactical also had a fair amount of uppers last time I was in there which was about 6 months ago.
  5. I think prices will initially skyrocket until a bunch of upstarts meet demand but after that the prices will have to drop, especially if foreign made silencers are allowed to be imported. Maybe not every can will be cheaper but there will be a lot more cheap cans, if that makes sense. People will still buy from a reputable silencer manufacturers and pay the extra cost to get a top tier silencer. But there are some who will be happy with the cheapest silencer. I am excited about all the new designs that will be thought up by some guy in his garage. Might be time to test the waters to see if we can get SBRs and SBSs removed from the registry as well.
  6. Why don't they stick to what works for them. Sell guns that were common place 100+ years ago. I would LOVE to see a nice falling block made with modern manufacturing techniques and metallurgy. Imagine how handy that little gun would be if it were scaled down to just the right size for 357 Magnum.
  7. Welcome aboard.
  8. Get a Vepr 12 instead, more reliable with a lot less work. I should have my newest 50 BMG in my hands within a month. It is being custom made by the company who holds the world record 1,000 yard group. It was just over 2" at 1,000 yards. They will guarantee it will shoot MOA with surplus ammunition, 1/2 MOA with Hornady Match and .2 MOA with hand loaded ammunition.
  9. Water will also remove rockset, or so I have been told. Soak it for a day or two and it should come off. I would call the manufacturer to see if they will remove it.
  10. First one was age 28 then the second time was 23. I am hovering in the 280ms range. My wife, after several glasses of wine, did it in 248.
  11. Yep, when they resurrect themselves it is rarely for anything good. This guy was a roofing contractor advertising.
  12. I use the Hornady Lock-N-Load bushings on my Lee Classic Cast press and it has worked perfectly since I first bought it at least 10 years ago.
  13. Man, you got a great deal. I am still waiting on mine to come in.
  14. My wife picked up an electric chainsaw and to be honest it is pretty nice for small work. If I have to go beyond electrical cord range I will just fire up a generator.
  15. My next gun will be a Remington Model 7 AAC pistol chambered in 300 Blackout.
  16. Another reason to avoid the odler guns if you build is any parts you swap, like the bolt head, may not fit. I built a flat back a few years back and I spent a lot of time machining the new parts to fit the older gun. The firing pin would not fit the channel in the bolt head. Several other parts also needed work to fit. If you have an older Savage and want to swap bolt heads it probably will not be a drop in.
  17. I went to take a look at a used intake for sale on CL. I knew how much they were new, $110 so I figured I might get a deal. I show up and take a look. It has a few helicols in it which I don't mind if the price is right. He said he wanted $150. I said they are like $110 new. He responded with a diatribe of how he broke it in and how that cost him a lot of gas. He also said he had to buy the helicoils after he stripped the threads and those weren't cheap. I offered $50, which was more than it was worth, and boy was I glad when he refused.
  18. ANY 22 can is going to last 5000+ rounds before it starts to really become harmful to your hearing. People are not going to just throw away a silencer they filled out a 4473 to buy. No different than throwing away a gun no longer wanted. People will sell them to fund a better one spurring a large secondary market of used silencers. Up until now it was just not worth it to buy a used silencer after the cost and wait but if it could be sold instantly there will be a used silencer market, especially during the shortage of supply. It looks like that 30 caliber silencer is aluminum or excessively heavy steel. If it is aluminum it will have a very short lifespan. If steel it must weigh as much as the gun.
  19. Get a current production over the older flat back receivers. Nothing wrong with the old ones but the newer ones have more support and Savage will fix them. Savage will not repair older flat back Savages.
  20. You can look back and see I am a HUGE fanboy of Savages. It is amazing what you can do compared to a Remington. Caliber swaps in under 20 minutes without the need to go to a gunsmith.
  21. I have a friend who has tried it in a 300 BLK and he said he didn't like it. I doubt it does ANYTHING better than what is currently on the market. But hey, it is good to have choices. For anyone trying to figure out a good 300 Blackout powder IMR 4227 is about as good as it gets. It works great with subsonic and supersonic loads.
  22. Look at the Torey Pines thermal scopes. They are definitely cheap for what you get.
  23. You would not believe the difference having an adjustable gas block makes. It reduces felt recoil, makes it more reliable, faster follow up shots, less blow back so the gun stays cleaner. And with a silencer you can tune sone od the blow back out. An adjustable gas block artificially lengthens the gas system. You can meter the gas toi mimic a rifle length gas system. This lets you tune it so a lot of the pressure inside the barrel has time to drop before the bolt unlocks. When I built my first 300 AR I put an adjustable gas block that had three settings, supersonic and subsonic and off. I had been shooting subs and forgot to switch over for supers. When I fired the gun the recoil was monstrius compared to the correct setting. It slung the brass 15-20 feet compared to less than five on the correct setting. If you ever make it to Knoxville you are more than welcome to try my 300 Blackout AR. Are you reloading for it yet? There are a lot of good, unpublished recipes. I think the best powder that works with both supers and subs is IMR 4227. It works well with cast bullets too. A great powder for jacketed bullets, super and sub, is Lil' Gun. It is thge nost cvobsistebt powder I have ever shot but it burns hotter so it doesn't work well with cast. If you have a short barrel Blue Dot also works well in an AR. For my single shots I use a pistol powder. I also use a lot of Trail Boss. Some say you can't compress it but I have never had a problem. i have loaded 250+ grain bullets using Trail Boss and through a silencer it is amazing.
  24. I like my tuned milspec trigger over any aftermarket trigger. It has taken me a long time but I can turn any milspec trigger into a three pound, or lighter, trigger. But not only that, I remove almost all of the pretravel and over travel. It feels like the trigger of a good bolt action.
  25. And here I was wondering what the Lebanese would need with a Harbor Freight.
