The recall election just happened, give it time.

There is a new breed that can do the same today. Problem is, like everything else, people cannot keep their mouths shut when they use them or no one has the balls to make the call to use them. They are used now but in such a small scale that it has no effect and are more of intelligence gathering roles than anything else. The capabiilties of some of the civillian contracting companies is amazing. One even said they could stand up an armed force and have that force anywhere in the world quicker than our military. Pretty bold statement except they had all the equipment, aircraft and their own private airstrips to take off and land their own 747's. They said they could assist any of our allies with men, supplies and arms then bill them after assisting them. One of them even bought a fleet of Close Air Support fixed wing aircraft. I will say that they are generally better equipped than most of the military units they were embeded with. They also had more outside assets as a general rule depending on where they were. Every single conflict we involve ourselves in creates more countries that gravitate toward those who seek to destroy or control us. We are getting involved in all these conflicts that drain our resources while those who want us to topple sit back and continue to build up. Our leaders are bowing down to other major players while stripping our military's budgets and capabilities. It is almost like those in power want us to fail when something big comes our way. Every major war that has been fought in the last 200 years has been fought on someone else's soil, this will not be the case for the next one. I only hope that nuclear weapons are not used. We are, and have been, at war with China for a very long time. They have been involved in industrial espionage as well as covertly assisting our enemies for a very long time. Our troops have found Chinese special forces imbedded with Al Qaeda and Taliban types in Afghanistan. As well as the Chinese arms that are routinely showing up in conflicts we are involved in. Al Qaeda and the Taliban are not buying these, they are being supplied. China has oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico while our government forbids US companies from drilling in the same locations. What should have happened 30+ years ago is mind our own business when it comes to other country's affairs. Instead we have continually tried to "help" those counties by taking their stable government and destabilizing it. Then we throw our money at them hoping to buy their love which never happens. This drains our resources and contributes to the financial situation our country is in. And if for nothing else we should help our own citizens before helping out other countries. We are heading towards a place we do not want to be. The teams are picking their players and it seems like more and more players are heading to the other team. We are at the top of most of most lists as far as military strength but Russia and China are number two and three. Those two combined are likely stronger than our own forces. We have replaced actual personnel with technology, I believe a huge mistake. We should not replace but suppliment our troops with technology. It takes boots on the ground to win ANY conflict. And when it comes to numbers of troops China has at least 4x what we do.

Springs wear out from use. They do not wear out from being left compressed.

Varget can be bought for ~$25 a pound and 30-30 brass is probably .10 each if they are once fired.

I was carrying a 1911 in 1995 in Germany. We had A2's and M60's. Never seen a M249 until I went to Bosnia with another unit in 1996.

Looks great. I have recently fell in love with irons again.

Source for Tyvek suit in Knoxville

Ok, thanks. -
I am needing a few Tyvek suits and would prefer to buy local. Thanks

I am for it. In Iowa they have to get permission to BUY a firearm. If a blind person is at home and hears someone in the house they should be able to defend themselves. I know I could keep my eyes closed, get to my gun and shoot in the direction of someone coming through my house that shouldn't be there. Not saying I will hit them but I would rather have the chance to hit them than be guaranteed to be a victim. And as far as carrying one in public I am all for that as well. Imagine a blind man being grabbed and dragged into an alley or a blind women being raped. Both could easily hit their attacker because they are up close. Not all engagement are are far away, amtter of fact most are up close and personal. I don't see blind people making a judgement and shooting at any distance beyonf point blank. They are not going to run around shooting wildly because they get a HCP and start carrying.

I suspect while they were working they dislodged some debris and went down the main. Then some of it came into the OP's house as he was running some cold water. Problem is going to be proving the water deptment caused it.
-
You could also use a shop vac to apply a little more suction on the blockage as well. Maybe do the same as I mentioned above except put a shop vac at the outside spicket to pull with some more force than just gravity.
-
If it is all the cold water in the house it sounds like it is after the split to the hot water heater. The split to the hot water heater gets full flow while the cold side has a reduced flow because of a blockage. Makes sense if you think about it. The cold would be more likely to be used than the hot so any blockage will be in the cold water pipes. I am not sure what you could do. Might try turning the water off outside at the meter. Then open all the cold water faucets in the house then go outside and open an outside water spicket. That way hopefully the cold water running backwards from the house, and out the spicket, will dislodge the blockage. After that it might be just a matter of cutting a line and inspecting. Mabye right before the first cold water junction and then run a rod up the pipe to try to break up or dislodge the blockage.

Walmart workers to strike?
Dolomite_supafly replied to Caster's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Recently at our local Walmarts they are contracting people to clean and organize the shelves. Normally most Walmart workers wear whatever they want but a few weeks ago I walked in and noticed a bunch of workers wearing the same uniform. I thought it was odd for Walmart to have all their workers wear the same thing. Then I noticed on the shirts some sort of contract labor company. I can't recall the name but the name implied they were some sort of labor company. The workers might want to watch what they do. I can guarantee Walmart could find a contact company to supply their work force and it would likely cost them less when you consider the cost of benefits, HR and the current crop of low productivity people working there. Not all are but I bet the vast majority are doing the bare minimum to keep the job while at the same time demanding the same as those who actually work harder. Personally, if they want more pay then find a second job or find a totally new job that pays more. Heck, the military will take people who are much older now and the last time I checked the pay is and the benefits are extremely good. -
I think they are haivng a hard time figuring our which bullpup. I got a picture so I know.

Looks great. I have held them a few times and they seem like they would shoot great.

They do need to touch. The way that was describe is how you setup rifle dies for use with a specific rifle, not pistol. I set mine up by putting the handle all the way down. Then I screw the die in until the handle just barely moves then I lock it in place. For the seater die I take a piece of factory brass and put it into the shell holder. I loosen the bullet seater by about a 1/4". This ensures the die will not bottom out on the bullet intead of the case. Now I put the handle all the way down again with the loaded round in the shell holder. I turn the seater die, not the pin, in until the handle moves about the same amount again then locks it in place. Next I turn the seater pin in until it hard stops and lock it in place. This will ensure the loaded round should be the same as a factory round. Do one thing to check somethign for me. Run a few lines down the case with a sharpie. Like 5-6 lines at various places around the casing. Then chamber them again. Where the sharpie wears off is where the additional sizing needs to happen. I bet it is at the base. Even though you are only a playing card away from being to the bottom it is a lot more because of the casings angle.

Even though it is perfectly legal to make a gun without a serial number it can raise a lot of eyebrows. I had a person relay something to me a few months back. He bought a homebuilt rifle without a serial number. The buyer took it to a FFL for the once over to make sure it was safe. The FFL refused to give the gun back and turned it over to the ATF because it did not have a serial number. I never was told whether he got the gun back but at a minimum he was without his gun for a while and inconvienced for it. I would suggest adding a serial number just to avoid the hassle. It can be anything you want and what does it matter unless you plan on selling it through a FFL. It is perfectly legal to sell homebuilt guns as long as the intent wasn't to sell them at the time they are made. Those that are manufacturing weapons for resale rarely do one or two. Most people who makes guns for themselves rarely make more than a couple a year. Yet those who intend to sell them will make dozens or more. And that is where it is easy to prove intent. Now if people began making, with the intent to sell receivers, they would need a manufacturers license. But if they are making them for themselves, initially, they are perfectly legal.

Explain why you married the women you did.
Dolomite_supafly replied to Jesse's topic in General Chat
It really is a very simple reason. I knew. I knew pretty early on that she was going to be with me for as long as I drew a breath and that I would make sure to spend as long as I can with her. It is a hard feeling to describe but you just know that is the person. The one person that raises you blood pressure and gives you butterflies. That is the person who you are willing to share everything with, the good, the bad, the funny and the sad. That feeling is when all you do is watch the clock waiting for the next time you can see them. Or willing to risk everything to be able to see them again. You know that is the one when you are dreading when you do have to leave but exited that you will get to see them again. Or spending hours on the phone talking about everything or nothing. The one person that makes you, above all else, happy. I honestly believe most people don't get that feeling and just end up settling but I can guarantee you I didn't. My wife was, and still is, someone who gives me goosebumps and butterflies. She still excites me like she did 20+ years ago. And I still look at her the same way I did long ago. And that is because that feeling that told me she was the one 20+ years ago is still as strong and still saying she is the one, the one for me. Oh yea, and it was also the boobies:) -

For those loading 300 Blackout
Dolomite_supafly replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
There is no such animal for the 300 Blackout. Midlength is NOT medium length. Carbine is considered the medium length gas tube. Pistol is the short length, rifle is the long length and carbine is medium length. -
My family does come first but only my immediate family. My sister is part of the "immediate" family. My mother, father and brother are no longer part of my family because of what they have done to me, my wife and especially our son. If my mother, father and brother came up to our door needing help because of an emergency I would dial 911, lock the doors and close the blinds. They cannot be trusted There is a long history I will not get into but suffice to say anyone who has had to deal what I have would feel the same way.
