  1. Depends on the caliber. It is perfectly legal to shoot rimfire while hunting at night.
  2. I will not send them a used gun for repair or warranty work. I call and order what I need to fix it myself. I have had them demand that I send a gun in to have a sight replaced. I refused and bought a set. The sights were cheaper than shipping and a lot quicker. The sight issue was a Bud's Gun Shop issue and not a Taurus issue. I love my Taurus 24/7 OSS DS in 9mm. I have at least 2,500 rounds through it now without issue. It is one of the most accurate semi autos I have shot. I will say that the times I have spoke to Taurus CS I learned they are BS artists. They know how to tell you what you want to hear. But calling them on it generally gets the truth.
  3. Also, even if you have insurance they will not pay the full amount. They will only pay the value and you MUST have a receipt to prove value. At least that is the case with USPS. I was shipping a kind of valuable and rare scope. I picked up the scope second hand and I sold it for $275. I asked for $250 insurance on the package. The postmaster said in order for me to collect I would have to prove value. I said that I had the receipt of what the buyer paid. She said that the receipt from the buyer was no good and that I needed a receipt from when I bought it new. I said it was impossible because it was older and bought by me used. She said they would not pay the claim if something happened. When they were running the trigger kits through the sorting machines, even though I paid for hand sort, I was loosing about 1 in 5. I came in one day and told them I wanted $100 insurance on each one because they were loosing them. I siad if they were going to loose them then they would pay for them, my time and frustration. She asked what they were and I told her. Then she said they weren't worth $100. I said it doesn't matter because I had $100 insurance. She said it doesn't work that way. They only pay the value, according to the receipt when bought new, up to the insurance. If the item isn't worth the $100 then they will not pay. Same thing with MO's too. You cannot send a $100 MO and put $1,000 insurance on it and expect $1,000 if thy loose it. What is even worse is if the MO is lost you have to pay to see if it has been cashed. If to hasn't then you have to pay for the investigation. I can't recall but I think they said you have to wait 6 months before they will investigate. They will not reissue even if it has expired without cashing unless the investigation has been completed. So if a MO gets lost you are looking at a lot longer than 6 months before you get a reissue. That is why I use PayPal for 99% of my transactions unless it is for a firearm.
  4. So how is the weather in San Antonio right now?
  5. Not going to find a better guy than Mike from LE Sales.
  6. McMaster Carr never shows shipping charges before check out. Matter of fact I do not know what the total is including shipping until I check my account a few days later. I don't mind what they charge because they seem to ship items before I order them somehow. I have ordered stuff on Monday and have it in my box by Tuesday.
  7. We have a member here who had it as well. He was really bad off for a while but now he looks and acts like a new man.
  8. The ATF law have nothing to do with the policies of FEDEX and UPS. Just because the ATF says it is legal to ship does not mean the private entity is obligated to ship. They can refuse to ship just like Starbucks can refuse you a cup of coffee. As private entities they can refuse you any service they provide for no reason at all.    USPS will ship but but only if you have a knowledgeable clerk. The first time I shipped I called the postmaster and she initially said no. I asked her to look up the laws regarding it while I drove down there with the gun to ship. By the time I got there she had reversed herself. My postmaster knows me well enough now that she could not care less that I was shipping long guns to fellow Tennesseans.
  9. Everyone who wants will watch him grow on here. We are taking a lot of pictures of him so everyone can see him grow into an adult.
  10. I suspect the trust submissions are going to really start slowing down. Whe they first started accepting applications I was told they were taking less than 2 weeks for approval and that was about 6 months ago. And since then every single board I am on has people submitting their trusts electronically. And now it is taking 3 months. I hope not but I suspect in the next 6 months trusts will be about as long as for individual submissions.    If they seem to settle down and remain at less than individual sumission times I will jump into the trust world.
  11.   I hear it will put Twilight Sparkle down pretty consistently.
  12. He is a blast to have around. We haven't laughed this much in a long time. My smile muscles are sore now.
  13. He just spent the last 10 minutes fighting going to sleep. He looked like a rabid zombie dog having a seizure. Rolling around, growling and snarling at nothing.
  14. He is getting the idea. He is probably tired of us sucking up all his puppy breath. We can't get enough of him and he seems to be pretty smart so far. We are lucky to have him. He is supposed to be 75-80 pounds when grown. Here is momma: And here is dad:
  15. No need to thank me David, it is the truth.
  16. Here it is at 4am or as Gus likes to call it, play time.
  17. I also try to be aware of my neighbors. I generally shoot during the weekdays and quit before 3pm. Most neighbors, the ones I don't hate, are at work during this time so they don't hear a lot of shooting. But even when I talked to them they said it didn't bother me.   The only neighbor that had an issue with me shooting has a problem with guns. He doesn't live up here but visited his property every couple of months. I caught him trying to look in our house with binos. I walked in and then back out to look at him. He didn't appreciate the fact I was looking back at him with a scope. A few weeks later I was showing some kids how to shoot and he came on our porch cussing about all the shooting. My wife asked him to leave and he caused a big stink. My wife said she was going to call the cops and he said that isn't the way to treat neighbors. We told him we don't care because he came up cussing. I even gave him my number and I told him to call me before he came up and he would never hear another gunshot. His response was that people should not be shooting those things anyways. I told him that the shooting wasn't going to stop and he said he would see about that. He said he was going to call the cops and tell them I was shooting illegal machine guns, which I don't have or shoot. After that he would honk his horn any time he was on his property and I was shooting. After that we put a metal gate up across the driveway and after that he would spin his tires and honk his horn when he realized he couldn't come back on our property. He even decided to shoot in an attempt to upset me as I was shooting. I just chuckled. There is a lot more to the story but I am not going to go into more detail.   I have even had to shoot some big stuff in the middle of the night and the cops never show up.
  18. No, not in Tennessee. You resist an officer attempting to make an arrest and you will be charged. You address greivances, such as an illegal arrest, in the courts.
  19.   There should be a 1/2"-3/4" flexible hose that goes from the bottom of the dishwasher to the sink or disposal drain. At some point along that flexible hose it must be above the sink drains.
  20. Since I was 4 there has only been a total of maybe 2 years of me not having a dog around. We are animal people but prefer dogs. We have cats and a horse too but love all animals. We have NEVER owned an outside dog and all of them, including the ones that weighed 100 pounds, slept in the bed with us. Gus will, no doubt, be like all the rest and sleep in bed with us.
  21. And here he is resting on his Serta bed for the midnight play session:
  22. Yeah, funny how small the world is.
  23.   Go to the show at Chilhowee in a couple of weeks. DLM37015, David, will be at the show and he will have everything you need to load the 300 Blackout. Look for the huge "RELOADING SUPPLIES" sign. You will not find a better person or better prices anywhere.
  24. So this is our new pup Gus. My wife went and picked him up today. He is a Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, say that three times fast, and was 7 weeks as of Thursday. Him and Lilly are already acting like best buds already too. First thing she did was bring him her prized toy and drop it right in front of him.
  25. No, because I live in the county so I knew I was legal and besides I knew most of the officers when I moved to where I live now.   I tell everyone who asks your same exact question to go ask the responding agency. Officers are not out to get you, they want their shift to go by as easy as possible and I can assure you that responding to a report of gun fire is not at the top of their list of things to do. By inviting them to your house they will do exactly to you what they do to me when they get a call about gunfire, they assure the complainant that everything is just fine and not to worry. Doesn't hurt to invite your neighbors over to shoot either.
