  1. I need to build one of these. Everyone I have talked to says it makes a huge difference in how well the bullets come out.
  2. Matter of fact every time I see them doing the same at m local Walmart I am not going to be discreet when I take the picture. I am also going to let them know it will be on the local Facebook.
  3. So who is going to post this on Armslist as well as the local Facebook pages? We need to shame these guys into staying at home.   I am going to call the Walmart this morning and ask for the manager then I am going to ask for their district manager. I am going to make the biggest stink you have ever seen about this.
  4. How is the barrel installed in the receiver?   I am really liking these except I am unsure how easy it will be to replace the barrel.
  5. Yeah, that would probably upset a lot of people from Alabama.
  6. +1,000
  7. Someone to come along and rob them of their newly acquired 22lr.
  8. Yes, lead acetate is some nasty stuff. That is why I tell anyone who is considering using it as a dip for their suppressor to ensure they can take it to a hazardous materials recycling center. Most major cities will take lead acetate and some will do it for free if in small quanties. You must take extreme caution when handling lead acetate and never dump it out onto the ground or into a storm drain as it can easily contaminate ground water. It will absorb through the skin and cross the blood/brain barrier quite easily. So it is best to avoid any potential exposure to lead acetate.   Now with that being said acetone does not react with elemental metals, such as lead. It takes some sort of acid, not acetone, to create lead acetate from lead. Just because they sound the same does not make them the same. Again, acetone will not react with lead to create lead acetate because acetone is not an acid.   When lead is exposed to hydrogen peroxide and acids such as vinegar ("the dip" in the suppressor world) it will yield lead acetate. But combining lead with acetone will not result in a reaction that creates lead acetate.   And just so everyone knows there is a much easier, and better, way to coat your bullets. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/73808-powder-coating-the-super-duper-easy-way/   Just to reiterate, combining acetone and lead does not create lead acetate.
  9. I would not call it a  "heck of a good gun". It definitely is a rough gun at best that also looks like it was rather rusty at some point until they tried to clean it up. But even with that I would have jumped on that $70 gun.
  10. But in the end when the state begins taking people to jail the vast majority will line up to turn their magazines in.   The politicians have become too comfortable in what they are doing. They know they can violate law and not be held accountable. They can make all the laws they want because they do not apply to them.   What needs to happen is something to make all the politicians a little more nervous about doing something that is against the public opinion.
  11. At 90 grains I do not see it penetrating too deep. I suspect the ballistic gelatin wasn't calibrated to be equal to human flesh. The chicken can be duplicated by 410 loaded with birdshot.
  12. +1   A true friend would tell you to call the cops and give you the option of not calling. Our last truck was hit 3 seperate times, with two being serious, and those that did it just drove off. Our current truck had someone back into it and then the driver fled on foot when I called the cops.
  13. Pretty sure it is nearly impossible to seal those worms back in that can.
  14. Or that they may drop your tire pressure to zero as you are heading down the highway.
  15. Probably the firing pin channel full of crud. Been there and done that.
  16. Ebay....................   Two for $.50 shipped: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Two-308-5-8x24-Crush-Washer-7-62x51-NATO-for-Muzzle-Brake-Pack-of-2-each-/271378039117?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f2f64414d
  17. Notice how he spelled Tennessee? I bet he is not from Tennessee but some sort of anti posting here, on a gun forum, so he can link it somewhere else as proof gun owners must be crazy.
  18. There was a video in which someone found a filter that was something like 1.5" OD and like 8" long. The problem with these is the ATF views any part of a suppressor as the suppressor. So if you have extra parts for your legal suppressor you can be charged with illegal possession of a suppressor. And the adapter with the washer could be viewed as an end cap which is illegal unless it is part of a registered suppressor. The only part of a suppressor that is considered legal to have as a spare is a wipe. Even if a person says a baffle they have is just a paperweight it is still an illegal suppressor. Even if it is not being used as a suppressor and is just a hunk of metal that looks like a baffle it is still considered a suppressor. It all comes down to the agent and up until now they have not ruled, as far as I have seen, about the legality or illegality of the solvent traps. I will say about a decade ago there was a guy who made and patented a plastic adapter that allowed you to screw a plastic bottle onto a threaded barrel. He also called it a "solvent trap" and said it was to catch the cleaning supplies that came out the end of the barrel. The ATF ruled the plastic adapter was a suppressor and must be registered if you planned on keeping them. Personally I honk the ATF is just not enforcing it. The reason I believe this is I recently seen the plastic solvent trap that used plastic bottles advertised for sale by a MAJOR sporting goods store.
  19. And when the filter needs to be replaced on NFA item it must be replaced by a NFA dealer. The filter is NOT a user serviceable part.
  20. You can cast and load 300 Blackout and pretty much any common pistol caliber for less than 22. My 300 rounds cost me 4.4 cents a shot. My 9mm is 4.2 cents a shot and 45 runs under a nickel a shot. I have plenty of 22 guns but I don't shoot them because I can shoot center fire for less. For the cost of three bricks you can start reloading.
  21. One of the biggest concerns I have about micro stamping is this. I go to the range and shoot my gun that micro stamps the brass. Then, no matter how hard I try, I cannot find all my brass. So some unscrupulous person manages to hit the range and pick up the brass I missed. Then the criminal decides to throw it down as he commits a crime. This will throw LE off of him and put me squarely in LE sights. Now I understand it should be easy to clear but not before they confiscate my gun and spend countless hours questioning me. And in the off chance I was sitting at home alone without an alibi I could find myself being charged with a crime I didn't commit. And even if there are eyewitnesses the micro stamped brass belonging to another will be enough to raise reasonable doubt at trial.
  22. Yes I did and I will for the 30 caliber can.
  23. )h, and one more thing. I generally do add steps or notches around the baffles. It creates turbulence and at least on my 22 can made a difference.
  24. I am not using it for supersonic ammo. My 300 Blackout is used to shoot subsonic 99% of the time.   I suspect there is a different dynamic going on too with the HUGE expansion chamber. That should reduce pressures some before anything makes it down the K baffles. And honestly how much of a difference would it make between M, Omega or cones vs K baffles. You still have the supersonic crack from the bullet which is still pretty loud.   If I was better at machining I would make the baffle stack a mono core but it is more than just drilling some holes in a rod.
  25. LOL, I started watching a documentary the other day on bronies. Some people are really weird,
