Not sure if he has it listed here but he has it at his stand. It has no number or name other than "Surplus Pistol Powder" with its starting loads for 9mm, 38/257, 40 and 45 ACP on the label. So far I have not found a commercial powder that is similar. This is a brand new surplus powder so very few people have it here. I got some to test and so far I am extremely happy with it. I like it enough that I am probably going to switch to it for all my pistol needs. It is its own powder and works great. The load data on the side of the jug is the starting load and I had to increase it some to get it to lock back on an empty magazine with my 1911. I will try to get some numbers this week, finally figured out what was wrong with my chronograph.

The Walmart in Halls had primers when no one else did back in 2008-2009. You could walk in and buy any amount you needed, same with powders, equipment and bullets.

WOW, I guess airsoft is out. Heck, under those definitions a Nerf gun is illegal to fire. Bullet, pellet or AIR? WTH?

Tennessee Takes Errant Self-Defense Shots Seriously, per 39-11-604

Glad I got rid of him when I did or we might have been getting billed for all his "free" legal advice. -
Did he ever find the emails? He did receive them.

He did not get a pass. We will not tolerate anyone who comes here to compete with our vendors without becoming a vendor themselves because it is unfair. He had every opportunity to become a vendor but chose not to and still he continued to peddle his wares. Think about this, he is NOT from Tennessee and therefore he is probably not licensed in Tennessee to practice law so him being here is about one thing, selling his book or filling seats to his seminars. Don't be fooled, he is not here for our benefit but for his own.

Another good plinker bullet is the 100 grain 2R bullet. http://leeprecision.com/mold-dc-311-100-2r.html -

I cast them. I have a buckshot mold if you want to borrow it. -
I did when I had a gun chambered in it but I no longer have a gun.

Just wanted to give an update on this powder. And in one word I will say it is amazing. It meters beautifully in my RCBS powder measure. Accuracy wise I am getting sub 1" groups at 7 yards using this powder with some cast, and powder coated, 230 grain Lee tumble lube bullets. With this powder and my cast bullets my Metro Arms 1911, that has reworked, shoots better than my factory self defense loads. So far I have shot about 150 rounds and it is as clean as any other powder I have ever used. It isn't spotless but it isn't filthy either. I will say that the starting load of 5.0 grains with a 230 grain bullet did not lock the slide back on an empty magazine. But the starting load is just that, a starting load. With 5.2 and 5.4 grains of powder the slide locked back 100%. And even with 5.4 grains of powder the primers still looked great. There was some flattening but not what I would consider alarming. Unfortunately I was unable to chronograph any loads today because of the blue sky but I will get some numbers within the next week or so. And hopefully at the same time I will test some 9mm loads.

Now the 7.62x25 Tokarev is an amazing round. It is one of only a handful of pistol calibers that can defeat a kevlar helmet. It defeat steel and glass better than most other calibers. And being a bottle neck cartridge the reliability will be a lot higher. And magazine capacities are the same as with 9mm. Imagine a modern defensive pistol loaded with 16 rounds of 7.62x25 Tokarev, I think it would outperform 95% of all other calibers out there. If someone would produce a modern handgun in the caliber I would buy it immediately and start carrying it. If adopted by the Army it would also eliminate the biggest complaint of the 45 and that is the fact females can shoot it just as well as males. That was the biggest reason why the Army adopted the 9mm, females were complaining about not being able to shoot the 1911 as well as males and therefore affected qualification, promotions etc. What is even more amazing is the 7.62x25 Tokarev has been in existence for at least 75 years in its current form. And as the 30 Mauser it is close to 100 years old. I am probably the biggest fan of the caliber and I am honestly surprised you cannot buy a modern handgun in the caliber.

Where did you pull this copy of 39-17-1301? I have looked high and low and cannot find the part about the 12" barrel for pistols. I know it used to be there but at some point it has been removed, which it should be, to prevent confusion. The key to this is "shoulder fired". The OP is buying a gun that was never "made or adapted to be fired from the shoulder" therefore it does not meet the definition of a "shotgun". And because it does not meet the definition of "shotgun" it does not need to have the required 18" barrel of a "shotgun". OP, I would carry a copy of the ATF opinion letter as well as a copy of 39-17-1301. Then I would try to explain to any inquiring LE that the firearm you are building does not meet the definition of a "shotgun" according to TCA or the ATF.

They should adopt the M45A1 and piss the Marine Corps off. They should go back to the 45 ACP if they are going to keep using FMJs. And personally, regardless of caliber, they should use some sort of expanding bullet.

If it was a problem we would have heard about 1911 butt in the last 100 years. Can't say I haven't heard the same for Glocks.

They are everywhere. Seems like everyone is a tactical expert in some way or another these days. It is like a modern gold rush with everyone trying to get their piece of the tactical training pie that is getting bigger and bigger every year. And every time I see a new one pop up in my area I check them out. The vast majority should not be teaching at all because they have no clue other than a course they took themselves and now think to themselves "Hey I can teach this stuff". The vast majority were never in the military and those that were in the military were not Special Forces, MARSOC, SEALS, PJ's or anything else like that, they were regular guys like mechanics or truck drivers or cooks. Not knocking anyone who has served but just being in the military, other than SOF or CAG etc, hardly makes anyone enough of an expert to be teaching others tactics. Then there are those who flat out lie about who they are and what experience they have just to get some of the money that is to be made. There are so many phonies and imposters out there it boggles the mind. Some of the fakes are very well known and were just able to market themselves really well (Pat Rogers or Ben Thomas). We had a guy on this end of the state that was teaching. Enjoyed making a lot of money in his HCP classes but it turned out to be he was never licensed to do the classes and was just taking people's hard earned money. After he got caught he said it was a preparation course for the real HCP classes. And the hundreds of people who had attended his class, and paid good money, had to pay another "instructor" to get their HCP. I am all for people getting the training but make sure to really research the person who is teaching. The classes are EXPENSIVE and the last thing you want to do is spend your hard earned money only to be disappointed by what was taught or to feel duped. Never trust anyone when it comes to your money or safety, verify it on your own.

If he was close to me I would buy what he has.

Besides I am pretty sure I will not be walking when I am being engaged in a firefight.
-
That seems awfully unsafe.

I just texted him he has: 550 round brick of Federal that is complete 50 round box of Stingers 100 rounds box of minimags two 50 round boxes of Winchester And at that point I think it is a pretty decent price because the Winchester is T22 which is decent stuff. All in all that is a fair price, definitely not gouging.
-
I think he forgot a comma. I also think he is thinking the minimags are stingers because both say CCI. It is a complete box of 550 rounds. I texted him and asked.

Is he using a false email address?

It arrives, he needs to check his spam folder. Every new member receives an email with rules.

The second one actually isn't that bad. Better than I have seen in a long time on Armslist.

Well once those open carrying are done with Target they will move onto another retailer and the next retailer might just ban us. Personally I will be writing Target and thanking them for their stance because even though I do not shop there by not banning firearms on their property they are at least not against us.
