My life has been threatened what do I do
Dolomite_supafly replied to ironsniper1's topic in General Chat
Going out on a limb here. This thread was about him being threatened, not about her cheating. I bet this isn't the first time some sort of questionable behavior has came to light regarding her. In the last 10 years how many times has she did something similar, or worse? I mean this can't be the first time in 10 years that she has "cheated". She didn't all of a sudden wake up a few months ago and decide to "cheat". Even though they may not have had sex it is still cheating if she has an emotional attachment to him. I bet if you ask her if she loves him her answer will be yes and if that is the case it is time to send her on her way. -

FORGET COUNSELLING!!! Counseling will not help one bit. All the cards are in your deck and now is the time to kick her out before she ends up pregnant. This is what is probably going to happen. You guys go to counseling, she is going to apologize, you guys are going to make up, have sex, then in your August post you post about how you cannot kick your pregnant fiancé out of the house. Then shortly after finding out she is pregnant she is going file for a protective order have YOU kicked out of your grandparent's house so she can move a boyfriend in. After that she will file for child support, get it, then you spend the next 18 years battling to see your child while she makes you pay, both financially and criminally because every time you go to see your child she will call the cops and have you arrested. From what you have said she is immature and is looking to be a victim, don't give her the chance to ruin your life. You will never be able to own a firearm again in your life. And one thing to assume is, no matter how well you may know here, she is an awful person.- 412 replies

4 pages too late. Post #2 was dump her as well as every single post since post #2. -
Manticore makes a very, very nice stock that mimics the Krinkov. The Manticore is on the top and an original Krinkov on the bottom. This picture was pulled from here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_611/245372_Manticore_triangle_stock_vs_a_krink_stock____side_by_side_pics_.html And there are plenty of other comparison photos. For the money the Manticore cannot be beat. My gun does not ding the brass at all.

So I recently purchased a M85 "Krinkov" pistol. I have had it less than a week and I am already getting the urge to SBR it like a real Krinkov should be. It seems like the best of all worlds because it is chambered in 223 so I can reload if need be and no import ban will ever affect 223 availability. I am also seriously considering building a barrel in 300BO so I can suppress it. I will have a folding buffer tube setup done this week and considering a Sig brace in the interim but that is a lot of cost for a gun that will be a SBR. The Sig brace works great for a stock but does not look the part. I am just trying to figure out a reason not to SBR it. And then the other question is whether to do a trust or not.

Guys will be guys so if your fiancé didn't make it 100% clear the guy will assume there is a something between the two. And if your fiancé didn't make it clear then she is complicit and IS likely looking for greener pastures. A guy isn't going to think there is something there after a week or two of chatting so no matter how long your fiancé tells you they have been chatting assume it is a lot longer. And going out on a limb, I bet pictures were exchanged and if you do little digging you will find more than you want to. If you have access to her cell phone account, if it is on your account, you can look at the chat logs. The chat logs will let you see how bad it really is. And I would keep copies of anything you find. -
Everyone talking about not having to pay taxes on purchases from outside of the state are wrong. You ARE required to pay tax on purchases from outside of the state at the same rate as our state sales tax. It is required by law but it is self regulated.

Give me a call. Depending on what time you are going I might be able to go. She went to pick up a saddle this morning so not sure when she will be back.
-
When you do pick me up I would like to go. I recently bought a pistol from them and then I bought a bunch of other parts for the gun I bought. They are my new favorite shop.

Nothing wrong with the gas systems. 90% of the cycling problems in Saigas come from using a Tapco hammer. The Tapco hammer is thicker and it binds on the bottom of the carrier. My Saiga has been reliable for well over 1,000 rounds, probably closer to 2,000. And all you have to do is pull back on the charging handle, release and pull the trigger. A friend was trying to convince me I wanted a pump to replace my Saiga. He was pretty adamant that a pump was better until I said I can put 25 rounds down range in under 7 seconds, after that he had nothing to say. I will say that a pump will be lighter but lighter is not always a good thing when firing 12 gauge. It all comes down to taste and what you operate the best. For me my Saiga is something I am comfortable with, more so than a pump.

Or you could go buy a $450 Catamount Fury semi auto, magazine fed shotgun. Identical to the Saiga by all accounts with the exception of the magazine.

90% of the people who hang out on here regularly have my number so if there are any problems that need addressed immediately feel free to call me 8am-10pm. If I don't answer it is because I am taking a nap, like most old guys do. And if anyone wants my number I have no problems giving out to anyone that asks for it because I enjoy talking to people about guns, cars or life. But PLEASE if you do call do not call late at night, let it ring long enough to wake up the wife and then hang up. With that being said the members moderate themselves pretty well here so my life as a moderator consists of acting like any other member 99.9% of the time. When we do get a turd they are told to cool it long before most moderators can deal with it. It is pretty easy taking care of a board where everyone is mature. This is not your typical male oriented board. I cannot think of another board, where the majority of the members are male, that doesn't have constant drama about who has the biggest pecker. Car boards, gun boards, heck any topic where there are men involved tends to be full of testosterone filled banter. Maybe that is why this place is so calm, most of our members are probably so old they have no testosterone left. I do like being here and I would be here even if I wasn't a moderator because we are all like minded and mature, well most of us, so it is like spending time with a long time friend.

Perhaps after his last go around with the TAG, during his last term, he learned but who knows. I guess I can call up there and just ask be we don't exactly meet eye to eye on some other stuff as well. I do not want to go with a trust either as I already have plenty of stuff in my name. And honestly I am not sure I will be doing any more NFA stuff in the next couple of years anyways. The only things I would consider were banned recently by the EO and even though I plan on keep those I would prefer to keep those easily sellable in case someone offers me more than I can refuse.

Replacing a hammer and trigger
Dolomite_supafly replied to RC3's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
First we need to know where you are located. -
We elected a sheriff who has been in office before. Previously he has said he doesn't believe NFA stuff should be legal in civilians hands. Took a call to the State's Attorney General office to get it done for a friend. And recently he went a bit farther and had all his officers turn in their full auto duty rifles because he said they do not need them either. So officers are now buying their own rifles for duty. It is not about funding either because he is purchasing brand new SIG pistols to replace their relatively new Glocks. And this is being done while officers are being issued armor with a manufacture date of 1992 because they cannot afford new armor for their officers. It is a sad state of affairs when a sheriff doesn't trust his deputies or provide them with basic lifesaving gear. It is even worse when he doesn't trust those who elected him. So I think it is about to turn dark in my county as far as NFA stuff is concerned. I might fill out a form to see what he says and where he stands. I do need to build a few more suppressors for some other weapons as well as maybe making my new AK pistol an SBR.
-
I recently bought a Yugo as well. The prices on ALL AK pattern rifles, regardless of where they are made, is going to go up. At some point the Russian AKs are going to dry up and that is going to affect demand for all types because some do not care where their AK comes from and without the supply of Russian weapons the demand is going to go up for all types. The only way that will not happen is if another country steps up almost immediately and is able to produce, and import, as many AKs as the Russians did. There is probably only one country capable of doing it and their weapons were banned from import by Clinton AND Bush Jr. Which brings me to another thing. These sanctions, even though they are supposedly temporary, will be in place forever. Look back at the ban on Chinese made guns and ammunition from two decades ago. It was not lifted even though we trade almost everything else with them. So no matter what happens with Russia the ban on the importation of their firearms will never lifted. It looks like it might affect other firearms, like bolt actions and rimfires, that are imported through the banned company.

Look for it on Ebay or Gunbroker. Ads that have bids is what I normally consider the market value.

Replacing a hammer and trigger
Dolomite_supafly replied to RC3's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have literally ruined at least a dozen thumb safeties, sears, grip safeties and other parts figuring out how to do it correctly. It is not impossible but if you do not know where to take material off you can ruin the part pretty quickly. NEVER use a dremel on 1911 parts. Most parts can be done using a file in under 15 minutes but only if you know what you are doing. -
Replacing a hammer and trigger
Dolomite_supafly replied to RC3's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
But if you are not familiar with fitting you can end up with a dangerous gun. Also, replacing the hammer and trigger often requires a new thumb safety to be fitted. And it is quite possible the current sear may not play well with the new hammer and trigger. And if not then you have to buy a new sear which often requires a new thumb safety. Or the new hammer may cause the thumb safety to not function correctly. Or the new hammer and trigger might work without any additional parts but it is very unlikely.
