2nd Suppressor Purchase
Dolomite_supafly replied to jmevis's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
AAC has their 9mm can for $306. Hard to beat that price. Up until about 3 weeks ago they also have a $200 rebate on that $306 purchase but it is still only $306 right now. So you are waiting for your can to get to your dealer? How long have you been waiting? -
AR500 Plates - Outdoor Storage
Dolomite_supafly replied to Omega's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I has some that have sat outside for at least 4 years without any problems. I paint them then shoot the paint off and leave them where they lay. I have had some laying on the ground for at least 2 years and are perfectly fine. Matter of fact AR500 doesn't seem to rust like mild steel. Even if it does get rusty just shoot the rust off. -
How I Dislodged a Stuck Bullet
Dolomite_supafly replied to Clod Stomper's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Not sure I would use steel wool but masking tape should work pretty well to keep a rod centered. -
Connections go bad so most times all they need to do it ensure the connections are not corroded to improve signal. The line itself rarely goes bad, it is the ends that have problems. If they are saying you are getting decent signal I would not hold them to replacing the lines. We have had Uverse for a year now, and DSL for over 10, and we are quite happy with it. We did have a nagging disconnect issue at the beginning but it was found and resolved, since then no problems. The U-verse is nothing more then two pair DSL run over two additional pairs. I had conversations with several techs and it is nothing more than high speed DSL over two separate lines.

Update: Factory ammo with primer upside down
Dolomite_supafly replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have seen probably four or five like that in my lifetime. Definitely a rare occurrence. Based on stuff I have sent back to them you will probably get 2-3 boxes of the ammo for your time and effort. I had bought a bunch of CCI once. All of them had standard velocity labels on them but when I would shoot them they were going supersonic. When I looked closer at the ammo I realized they looked like minimags. I contacted them, and sent pictures, and the lot number said they were MiniMags but apparently the worker loaded the wrong labels. I got to keep the 1,500 mislabeled MiniMags and they sent me 2,500 Standard Velocity rounds for my time. Here are pictures: -
Never saw this before...
Dolomite_supafly replied to Hotshot's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
You might be surprised at how well that thing shoots. I have seen barrels in a lot worst condition actually shoot pretty well. Look at any Savage barrel and you will be like OMG but they are known to be very accurate. -

It won't let you under the advanced tab? Want me to hide it? -
I guess they were successful, at stuffing their faces. We cannot rest. Next time, if we have advance notice, we need to show up and ask if we can join the cookout then as we are eating lift our shirts up.

HCP/CCW - What are you preparing for?
Dolomite_supafly replied to D3vo's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Nope, at least not yet. When I can legally put a stock on it I will start carrying it. Mine is actually an M85 which is 223. I am on the hunt for a M92 as well. -
HCP/CCW - What are you preparing for?
Dolomite_supafly replied to D3vo's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I am preparing for the time when the person that tried to kill us in 2009 tries to finish what he started and at some point he will. That is my worst case scenario. The odds of me meeting some terrorist during an attack is remote, as in lottery winning remote, so I prepare myself based on a single person coming to kill me. I often carry a long gun but as of late kind of slacked off. I am going to start carrying a long gun again. I carry a pistol as well but fell out gunned all the time. -
Extra buffer retainer spring?
Dolomite_supafly replied to leftyk82's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I'm trying but can't seem to sell off enough stuff. -
It actually is pretty common on some AKs. I had a Saiga that seemed to do it all the time and required a new spring before it would stop slipping off. AKs are pretty basic and are extremely easy to work on.

Extra buffer retainer spring?
Dolomite_supafly replied to leftyk82's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Don't want to seem unconcerned but it is pretty amazing at the velocity of that little thing when you unscrew the buffer tube. I am surprised the act of unscrewing a buffer tube has not been regulated because they are far more dangerous than most guns. I have lost more than I can count. Personally I think they are moving with such velocity that they leave our reality and land in someone else's. This is why you always seem to find things you don't remember loosing. That is because in an alternate universe somewhere someone launched their part into our reality. BTW, this is similar to what happens with socks in the dryer. The swirling motion of the dryer opens up a space/time portal allowing your left, and only the left, socks to fall through. I swear I find single socks that I have never seen before.
