I am surprised that we have not had a group open fire on crowds of innocents. I suspect a major assault, by a group of terrorists, is being planned but are looking for the ideal place to get the most bang for the buck. Another reason why I am surprised it has not happened it because of how easy our jails are and how lenient our courts are. They could kill dozens and as long as they plead guilty they would live out their lives in much better place than their homeland. After it happens there will not be a call for more of the populace being armed for protection but a call for guns to be outlawed which we all know will never work. And because these types are going to use "assault weapons" there will be another round of scarcity and high prices afterwards. My only hope is that there is someone armed to at least try to fight back when it does happen.

Lone Wolf has had issues in the past with magwell dimensions. Mags would not drop free and when asked Lone Wolf said to sand the magwell to open it up. I will admit this was at least 5 years ago so hopefully things are a bit better now.

If you carry it, and it is 26"+, you must NOT have the VFG because with the VFG it is no longer a pistol. If you remove the VFG it returns to being a pistol and you can carry is concealed like any other handgun. 26" and a VFG turns it into a "firearm".

Link to a place you KNOW will do it please.

I would be pissed at the Camaro driver. He kept sliding over and the guy that wrecked was trying to avoid him.

If you use the extended pistol buffer tube and a 10.5" barrel the overall length gets past 26". 26" is important because you can put a vertical forward grip on the gun. If you use a barrel shorter than that you will have a gun that is not 26", or more, and you cannot use a vertical forward grip. Regardless of overall length you can run an angled forward grip. My wife has a 16" 9mm barrel and it gives 357 magnum performance. I would think as long as the barrel is at least 10.5" it should be close to 357 magnum performance. Here is a website that tested calibers based on barrel length. http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/index.html Here is 9mm:http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/9luger.html And 223/5/56:http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/223rifle.html

I stumbled across this and although I am not an SKS aficionado I do know there are some here. This IS the most comprehensive gathering of pictures the SKS that I have ever seen. Here is a detailed listing of what is on each of the 46 webpages of information. http://www.yooperj.com/SKS.htm And here is page 1. http://www.yooperj.com/SKS-1.htm

Tighten barrel nut with no vise?

Not sure if you ever get to Knoxville but if you do I will fix it for you. -
But there is a HUGE difference in what you get. The KX3 is a single baffle sound suppressor and the KAK piece is nothing more than a funnel. The KX3 makes a HUGE difference on guns that are under 14.5".

That would be pretty boring, watch CSPAN to see all the walking dead you can stand. DC has been overrun with zombies for decades now.

I have all my parts as well. I will be picking up the gun Monday or Tuesday then start assembling. -
LOL, isn't that the truth. When I first got to Bosnia our company commander told us we had to wear camouflage on our face. We also were no allowed to roll up our sleeves and expose our skin because it wasn't tactical. Then they told us we had to wear reflective vests when out of our vehicles so the cars and cow carts would not hit us. I have no problem with the clothing or equipment that LE uses providing you can tell they are LE and which LE agency. Too many officers, especially in situations like this, are tight lipped about who they work for making it hard to hold people accountable if something goes wrong. Another HUGE problem I have is in situations like this it seems like the rights of law abiding citizens are often suspended along with the suspects. Like in Boston, having LE clear you of your own home against your will is wrong. I have serious reservations about ANYONE being in my home without me being right there with them.

Here are a couple of pictures of the test I did earlier to check for fit and which drill size to use. That is the hand guard material but it will be cleaned up a lot better and probably media blasted before getting a coat of clear. -

We were talking in chat a few nights ago about options for our Mini Dracos. We were talking about the Troy Squid rail too. It is a free float tube with holes in it and there are little round rubber orings that go in the holes that look like tentacle suckers. Well those little rubber orings are $21 for 7 of them, way too expensive to buy to mess with. Here is a picture of a Troy rail with the squid suckers. Picture from here:http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_19/586212_Troy_Industries_Squid_Grips___Flat_Dark_Earth__FDE_.html So I got to thinking and figured I could drill my own holes and add my own grommets to get the same benefits for a lot cheaper. So after searching eBay I decided I would take a chance and I ordered these from McMaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#9600k26/=tspafc I did a test hole and they are going to look and feel great once installed. It may not look as professional as the Troy but I will have less than $15 in my rail which will be made out of a piece of 1.25" U channel that is 1/8" thick. That is if I have a couple of decent days. I also have some mini orings coming from China to try but they won't be here any time soon. -

The rubber grommets from McMaster Carr came in today. It is amazing, I swear they have a telepathic working for them and have my order packed and shipped before I know I am going to order. The grommets themselves are perfectly sized. They are not big enough to get two rows above one another but if I offset, like I had envisioned, they will work great. I drill a 25/64 hole and they pop right in and do not move at all. Now that I see how nice they are going to look I am seriously considering not painting the forearm black like I had wanted. -
They are like paintball triggers. Supposedly you can shoot faster alternating pulling with the index and middle finger.
-
Yeah, I was just in copy/paste mode and didn't really notice the paintball triggers. Chrome lining can help a bore last longer but accuracy will not be as great so, yet again, another trade off. Realistically though are you going to shoot it enough to shoot the rifling out? Cleaning does more harm than shooting so when I buy I buy stuff that can handle being left dirty.

I chose a Stormwerkz hinge and will use a "pig nose" adapter to screw my buffer tube into. It ends up being the same as Plank but a little different setup. Pretty sure my setup will be a little lighter as well. http://stormwerkz.com/stock-folding-mechanisms/stock-folding-mechanism-standard/ The Stormwerkz also locks in the closed position while the ACE does not. And here is the pig nose adapter: -
Did you try pushing them out the other way? Some sights, I believe XD's do, only go in and come out one way.

And if the dot isn't bright enough it daylight remove the 2032 battery and put in two 2016 batteries. Yes it is simple and yes it does work. I will caution that if the red dot has electronics that automatically adjust the reticle intensity do not do this.

Fixed stock NPAP rifle in 7.62x39 with a 75 round drum and a 30 round magazine. http://www.jgsales.com/cai-npap-m70-w-d-ak-style-rifle,-7.62x39,-double-finger-trigger,-wood-stock,-new.-with-free-drum-p-70182.html $529 Same rifle as above but an underfolder http://www.jgsales.com/yugo-m70ab2-ak-style-rifle,-7.62x39,-with-underfolder-stock,-grenade-sight.-p-1388.html $529

Yeah, the PAP has the AKM trunion which is much thicker and probably more durable. The down side is they are HEAVY. I have an M85 PAP in 223 and with a 30 round magazine it weighs 9 pounds, not a very light gun at all. Do not order from Buds, there are plenty of places that are cheaper.
