  1. I've heard good things about the Dura coating, but no finish is 100% safe from holster wear. If you carry it every day in a rig, you are going to get some sort of wear on the main contact points. I personally prefer hard chrome for wear resistance, but even it shows a little 'polish' on the points that touch the holster. You may want to look at the black hard chrome because it can be done in a matte finish and is almost as hard as silver hard chrome. I have used a company called Accurate Plating & Weaponry and have been very pleased. Their site is New Page 1
  2. I actually registered a few months back, but I don't think I ever introduced myself. I currently live in Knoxville and I am a member of the Oak Ridge Sportsman Association. I am a former LEO with 10 years experience including time as a field training officer, firearms instructor, and basic academy instructor. Now I am a full-time grad student and I teach college classes in criminology/criminal justice part-time. I enjoy shooting, talking about guns, and talking about US history. Hopefully I have some good info to add to the forums!
