Sunfish, I'm sort of tied down here anyway, I have two very large parrots and 2 very large dogs- chickens and ducks and a coyote issue that I need to take care of!!! But I love being here so it suits me just fine!!! I would love more animals but kinda limited on what I can do by myself!! Peejman, got lots of good wood !! But I really hope to get some cut up for me too!! I might try hooking the fallen trees to my FJ and pull them up and out so I can get to them . It says it has a tow package , so I think that might work!! Mark A, the house I would rent is in excellent shape, it is a 4 bedroom , 3 bath and I have installed new flooring in it. It is actually the best one on the farm and has the best view but I am staying in this one when the kids move because it further back on the praoerty and no one has to pass my house to get to theirs. All your suggestions were great!! I basically just need help and I would love if the new people had livestock too!!! I want the entire farm lifestyle!!!!

Thank you!!! I love this place!!!i did think of separating it and selling part of it but I love all of it!!!! If I could I would have a few cows, goats, and a good set of working mules to work here!!!!!! I have just had a foot surgery due to my RA and I am just not able to do the things that I want to do BUT I am pleased to have some suggestions!!!! Thank you all!!!

I have 6 acres of woods, a beautiful view of the mountains, two doublewides are on the property and I have ducks and chickens ( and about 30 baby Muscovy ducks!!!!)the rest of the acreage ( about 25 total) has hay on it. I do have 4 pecan trees, lots of black walnut trees and lots of blackberries, I have a straw bale garden going and a very deep well that I just had done! Guess the propert could be used in lots of different ways but I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am not sure how to do it alone. Right now I have trees down blocking me from my lower pasture. I could divide and sell some of it but I really hate to!!

So , our dream came true. My daughter and I dreamed of a farm for years. Her husband was all for it. Now, that I own 25 acres - they don't really want this lifestyle!!! So , how do I take care of it by myself? They are only living here till they can afford to move so how do I find a person or a family that would live here with the goal of a self sufficient lifestyle? I could sell and have a smaller place but I love it here and I have a great new well and a place to shoot!!!! Life does throw you curves but it's obvious that I need a new game plan!!!! Any clues on how to locate like minded people ( that you can trust) or is this just wishful thinking on my part?

Thank you! I am being very careful - I am 55 alone and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis - so careful is a necessity. Just purchased an old wood cook stove and a good cast iron wood burner for the living room- these two should keep my house warm! I am very interested in a well that will work if the grid goes down . Love the plan of chickens and interested in goats too. Falls are my biggest issue - it is very hard for me to get up - I need a chair or table to hold on to and if I am on the land then I am stranded. I have a baby English mastiff - hoping I can pull up with him as help! All in all, if I had one day left to live - it would be on my front porch with my view that makes me feel so blessed!!! A parrot is just like a good gun!! You lie about what you spend on them and you put them in your will!!! Macaws and cockatoos will live up to 80 years. And the Greenwing Macaw ( the red bird for people that are familiar with birds) broke my nose before it could she could even eat on her own or fly!! Very strong beaks!

My parrots eat almost everything people do - no chocolate, avocados, Apple seeds but they love veggies!!! And I think I will go with goats - I cannot drink cow milk or eat cow cheese. I want as close to off grid as I can go - I want a well that does not need electricity and solar to run my swim spa ( guess that ruins the image of off grid- lol) I hope to have fish in the pond and lots of fruit trees. I really would love to raise bees but not sure I would be able to! I love to shoot but I'm afraid it will scare my animals too much but I'm craving a range!! Lots of plans !!! If anyone digs wells or turns up gardens near Sweetwater - let me know!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I am not afraid of many things but men are a little bit scary to me - I have been single for 28 years - never dated- besides a man might want to take control of my guns!!! Lol!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got my Greenwing straight out of the nest at 2 weeks! I have been hand feeding for different breeders for 20 years!! Love my parrots!!! I am fenced everywhere but the road area , about 6 acres woods and the rest is pasture. Hay was bailed and taken away by a neighbor. I am attempting to pull the dead fallen trees out with my FJ so the will not fall on grandkids. Then cut them up for outside fires or indoor fireplace. I want a big garden , lots of goats, chickens, alpaca, a pig or two! Lol!!! I want the pond to hold water- have no clue how to do that! But I do have RA - I do good - I always have issues with it but an occasional fall is really hard on me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
