For anyone who may be considering a spotting scope, I highly recommend the Meopta S2 and the Kowa 770 series of scopes.

I started to post this in the training section but since the conversion kit is actually a piece of gear or an accessory for the pistol thought this might be the most appropriate spot. For those of you who may be involved in farms training, particularly defensive tactics training with a handgun, the silent blank round is a very worthwhile product.

Your best option would be to get a dedicated 22 upper or a dedicated AR upper that you exclusively run the conversion kit in. Nordic components makes a great upper for a dedicated 22

My review of Nightstick’s 550XL weapon light. I have been surprised by it’s performance

I was encouraged by a friend to do videos on the various items I am fortunate enough to test from time to time. I am definitely still working on developing my own style and process of putting videos together. This video may only benefit those involved in force on force training but figured I would try to share my experience and knowledge with others.

https://youtu.be/HlkVj_ I was not sure if I should put this in show and tell, general chat, or here. Since it was build to practice for bow hunting figured I would post it here.

Benefactor Renewal Confusion - Improvements, Maybe?

Where is the invoice inside the manage your purchases link? When I click on ii I am taken to my previous purchases but do not see an invoice or anything to click on to renew. -
Shot one last week at SHOT. Great trigger and overall feel. it seemed to have a little more recoil than the Shield but I have a lot of trigger time on the shield. I will not be getting rid of my shield to get one but if I were in the market for a subcompact carry gun, it would be at the top of my list with the shield.

The Gen5 is nice. I’m not much of a Glock guy but I am warming up to the Gen 5. In less than two months I have over 6,000 rounds through one straight out of the box with no cleaning or lubrication. It’s been abused but just keeps working.

What type of match are you shooting? USPSA multigun? It sounds like you are referencing USPSA divisions. Most 3 gun matches do not have those divisions. Its either tac ops or open as far as hand guns go.

Urban Rifle I at Royal Range on June 18. Good basic class on running the AR platform.

I shot the M&P 9L for several years as my primary 3 gun pistol before stepping up to a 2011. I really like the 5" M&P guns. If you get one go for the 2.0 version. I believe it is only available in flat dark Earth currently. It will give you the best factory M&P trigger yet. It is still not as good as an aftermarket trigger job or Apex job but it is not bad at all. I have multiple M&Ps and have been very happy with them. If you are not committed to that platform, be patient and check out the 5" Sig 320 when it becomes available. I discounted the Sig 320 until I finally handled one The Beretta APX has a very nice feel to it but is the new kid on the block so to speak.

screwball09, thanks for the kind words. You and the rest of the class did a great job. You all certainly made it easy from an instructor standpoint. It was a fun class. The AR is a great and versatile platform. I applaud you and your fellow students for your desire to learn more and coming out to get the training. Keep training and practicing. DB

Please forgive my bluntness, it makes for fewer sentences. LOL. Changing to your dominant eye alone will not make you a better shooter. Good training and proper practice will make you better. Now changing to your dominant eye in conjunction with the training and practice will yield the greatest improvement. Cross eye dominance is not preferred but we have little choice in it. It's a non-issue for pistol shooting. Just move your head and use your dominant eye. Now, if you want to be the best you can be with a rifle, shotgun, or bow, use your dominant eye.

As others have stated, I doubt prices will get any lower. If you are concerned about the future availability of an AR, I would go ahead and get a decent one now instead of a cheap bottom of the bucket one. Put off any other gun purchase and get a good AR.

CZ makes good stuff. I have no personal experience with their shotguns and have never squaded with anyone at a match that was shooting one. There is a reason you only see a few pistol or shotgun platforms being used by serious 3 gun competitors. They go with what is proven and works. The benelli has proven itself over time. The beretta has proven itself over a much shorter period of time but is being used by many. The versa max does not see as much use as it has in the past. The stoeger has proven to be solid but in much smaller numbers. whatever you get, make sure it fits you or can be adjusted with shims to fit you. It makes a major difference.

Stoeger MK3 for price. Jerry may run the 930 but he knows how to keep it running. Not many serious 3 gunners run the 930 and I have seen plenty with issues. The shotgun is the one platform you do not want to go cheap with. The Beretta 1301 can be had for under 1000.00 and will serve you very well in the stock configuration. The Beretta is my recommendation.

Always thought IDPA was full of drama queens. If the IDPA crowd spent more time shooting instead of complaining they would be a whole lot better shot. ?

Another useless thread.

Feel is a subjective thing. Fit not so much. Neither have any bearing on accurate casual shooting. But for optimum performance, proper grip and fit are very important. Most people don't even grip a semi-auto correctly so the benefits of an optimum grip and fit are a moot point for them. I have issues reaching the trigger on large framed Glocks and experience significant slide bite when using a proper grip. That is why for me, the otherwise excellent Glock 20 was a no go.

If your hand is large enough, the Glock is the way to go. My hands are just too small for it. i went with the Sig P220 10mm in SAO. Great gun.
