  1. No, sorry I am good on AR platforms.
  2. I’d be open to other pistols or pistol caliber rifles, I’m not in the market for shotguns or rifles at the moment
  3. I've got a Grand Power X-Calibur in 9mm. The barrel has been cerakoted copper and comes with a kydex holster. It comes with all the factory goodies (guide rod springs and low profile safeties) and 2x 15 round magazines. It’s got a 5” barrel and weighs 31.2 oz with the magazine. I found myself wanting another pistol and since I shoot my CZs more than this one it’s on the chopping block. It has less than 200 rounds through it. I may consider trades, and value differences would need to be made up in cash. Due to the price of diesel, I’d like to keep the transaction near Clarksville, if you’d like to test fire prior to purchase (serious inquiries only) I can arrange that at the shop I work at in Clarksville. Looking for $775 on this.
  4. I finally got around to sacrificing a round to determine if the rounds themselves were steel inside. After pulling the round from the case I found it stuck to a magnet. I grabbed it work some pliers and took it to the disc sander and found steel under the copper jacket. It’s coming from Factory 71 with an ‘89 head stamp. Thanks to everyone for the knowledge, picture included to show my findings.
  5. I’m looking for a Colt or Ithaca 1911 frame (I would like an Ithaca to go with my Ithaca slide). I’ve been scouring the Internet for a few days now with no luck, so if anyone out there has a frame they never got around to building let me know. I’d prefer an unmolested frame as I’m putting together a M1911A1 tribute. I’ve got all the other GI spec parts minus a frame. Thanks in advance.
  6. I’m looking for a Remington 1100 in 16ga. I’d prefer to find one in the Clarksville/Nashville area. Let me know what you have.
  7. Recently through the shop I moonlight at we got in a National Postal Meter in relatively good condition as a transfer. It had a non adjustable rear sight and some evidence it had a bayonet lug on it. The receipt was for around $2200 after shipping and tax. I don’t recall where it came from but that’s about $1800 more than I gave for my Inland a decade ago.
  8. I appreciate it, I keep around 50 or so species of wood in the shop myself. Not working in Atlanta anymore limits what I can put my hands on here in Clarksville. I’m a fan of getting to see all aspects of a block before buying, I’ve been disappointed a few too many times from online warehouses.
  9. The blanks have been stabilized in cactus juice before I made them. I do this with all the grips I make. 2 hours under vacuum through a few bleed cycles and 24 to soak in the resin.
  10. I appreciate the replies and selling it off sounds the best to obtain more of the cheaper stuff. I just find it difficult looking at market value of the ammo, but like even the ugliest cars out there, there’s a butt that will fill the seat.
  11. I saw all the videos on scavenging parts from a microwave but I’m not willing to risk that. I went a slightly more safe way with a neon light transformer.
  12. I’ve been making 1911 grips for a few years now after I got tired of not getting what I truly wanted from other sites. I recently started playing with fractal burning for cutting boards and what not, so I decided to try it on some grips. I pulled out a set of oak stave and walnut to see how the 10k volts react to the different woods. What are your thoughts? Should I do a resin fill to give them some color? I’ve been a fan of walnut and blue but it may be a bit flashy for my carry pistols.
  13. I’ve had a few hundred rounds of Norinco Yellow Box 7.62x39 for a few years now. I know it’s not imported anymore but there is still some out there for sale if you do some digging. I haven’t shot any of it yet, but what is all the hype? I’m seeing it go for between $30-40 a box. Is it that high because it can’t be readily obtained? Is it something collectors value? Is it worth throwing out for sale or just shoot it? I’m just trying to figure out what would be best as I’m getting low on my Brown Bear.
  14. GLWS, this is one of the best pistols I have next to the Czechmate. If you haven’t handled one of these it’s worth a grab. Great price on this as well.
  15. Yea it's a 7 shot 357. I've got a TRR8 as well, the 8 shot it awesome. No moon clips on this one though. I've been searching for Smiths to keep me from shooting my python too much.
  16. I picked up a 386 Hunter XL today, it's the scandium 6" 7-shot model. I got it for a pretty good price I think. I was trying to find another to compare price to but can't seem to find one. I didn't have time to shoot it before leaving work. So my questions are, who has one? How is it? I hate using this word, but how "rare" is this? Picture is attached for some gun porn.
  17. If you're ever in Clarksville on a Saturday, give me a buzz, I've got a Tac Sport Orange I'll let you try out.
  18. Haha yea, custom Catahoula hair. Damn dog is shedding its winter coat, I sweep up a rat worth of hair daily.
  19. I've been looking at those, mainly for my CZ since they want well over $100 for their 26 round mags. They make nice stuff, I had their mag bases on my SP-01. If you ever find yourself in Clarksville and want to try this out pm me before you head up. I work at an indoor range on saturdays.
  20. Mine came in today. Just picked it up. First impressions; I had to change the back strap but it comes with a total of 4 so there are options. I'll have to swap out the safeties for the smaller ones when I get home. Aside from the swaps of included parts it feels great in the hand and points well. Trigger pull is nice and crisp in single action and double action is similar to my Sigs. I'll have it at Tennessee Gun Country Saturday along with the CZ Tac Sport Orange if anyone is in the area and wants to try them.
  21. I've got one with the apex upgrade. I feel it's a necessary improvement on the pro series. I've had the performance center and core models, but I prefer the standard with the apex flat trigger. I never did like suppressor sights, couldn't get used to a red dot on top and porting wasn't necessary. For the money you can't beat it in my opinion. I prefer it to a Glock. This is the one that sits on my night stand.
  22. My only complaint with mine is that I have the tendency to hit the mag release when shooting it. I'm sure if I shot it as much as my other guns I could cure myself of it. The extended magazines are a must for me and the trigger leaves more to be desired. Taking into account what it's purpose is, it fills the role well.
  23. It's a great shooting pistol, you won't be disappointed. I just need to find time to shoot mine more. I had to take off the thumb rest on mine as well, my thumb didn't sit on it without changing my grip completely.
  24. Guess I got rid of something that's a little hard to get. Springer Precision has them in Orange, different shape though. http://shop.springerprecision.com/product.sc?productId=320
  25. I have a citadel 9mm and a rock island, both great pistols in my mind under the $600 price point. I'm hoping to have my 6" 9mm finished by the end of the month. Slide work is all done, working on the frame now. Once my end is done it's off to the machinist for some barrel crowning.
