Nope I'm not going anywhere, no worries about that. Work may drag me away from time to time but I'll still be around. I'm working on some H&K magazines in various patterns that I'll be sharing with everyone once they are done. Thanks for the comments and apologies again to the Mods for my screw up.

I've been doing it on and off for the last 2 years because of my day job. Now I leave you with some works that I have done:
-
Not sure about the carry part, still trying to talk my wife into letting me get my CHP. She says I need to work on my patience and temper first. I'm glad some of ya'll like it, I'll be bringing it to the Owl Hollow shoot on the 30th, hopefully with a nice stock of .45 as well.

I invite you all to a Postal Match - The Zombie Apocalypse

I tried to download the file at work, I'm assuming it was the previous file since I normally don't have any problem with PDF files. So I can print more without my wife getting mad that I'm using all her ink I emailed myself the file. I'll be shooting it next weekend with my XD w/red dot and my 92FS with irons. I think dad will have his hand at it as well. -
So I talked myself into changing my XD around, out with the old in with the new. I'm pretty happy with the Duracoat on it so I decided to leave that alone. Because of the Duracoat I won't be stippling it any time soon, so what's left? Change the sights around. I decided to go a little overboard and figured my AK didnt need it's Docter sight anymore since afterall it's an AK. So I knocked out the rear sight and inserted a Springer Precision Docter/Jpoint mount. Threw the Docter on it and boresighted it. I'll shoot it next weekend to get it completely dialed in. Here's the results: Feel free to criticize, I'm not 100% sure I like it yet either.

Nice Greg, I'll play the game, just need a pumpkin. What are we looking for scary, patriotic, goofy?

I live by the motto that "It fires better with a little carbon on it". That was taken a little too much to heart and when I finally broke a trigger spring on my 92 and it wasn't completely decocking every time I decided to do a little armorer level cleaning and had to scrape the carbon build up off with a flathead screwdriver. I wouldn't suggest doing what I do, that was after close to 1500 rounds of 124gr 9mm, I could only imagine what my AR looks like, but I'll clean it when I have a problem. My other gas AR I clean each and every time I shoot it.

I've got an Adams Arms piston on my AR-Mutt and I've got close to 2k without a cleaning. You'll be happy with the piston set up. The set-up I've got is the Adams Arms piston on a 14.5" Sabre Defense barrel with a RRA Chrome BCG, a DD rail, a VLTOR MUR-1A upper and I found an H3 buffer to help the bolt. Works flawlessly, only malfunctions I've had were due to old mags which later turned into target practice.

Next time I buy one, The only one that I have now, the frame is done in a digital multi-cam which took forever to do so I really don't want to strip it just to stipple it. Maybe I'll talk one of my Glock toting friends into letting me put some on theirs. The middle I've found is called "tree bark", it probably had the least noticable amount of texture, but still had more than the standard grip.

Had some old AR grips sitting around so I decided to practice a little stippling. Let me know what you think.

Gun Show in Clarksville, TN Oct. 16 and 17
gunrunner32 replied to inspecting1's topic in Events and Gatherings
If it's the one at the armory, then no I wouldn't waste my time even driving by it. Go to the Bill Goodmans at the Nashville Fair Grounds. The one here in clarksville is small (room is about 60'x90') with nothing that is a wow or worth the $7 it costs to get in. The only gun show that I've really been "wowed" by was the one they used to have in Smyrna, not sure what happened to that one though. -

I'll play your game...once I get home I'll have to print up the target since my work computer isn't cooperating with the link. What's up with the TGO online precision shooting challenge? -
Nice touches with the engravings. Good looking rifle overall, I prefer my 14.5" barrels but thats me. Don't forget to give us a range report, we all wanna know how she fires.

Looking for ideas from the vast majority
gunrunner32 replied to gunrunner32's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Actually I've ran out of firearm related things that my wife will let me buy. I found myself in the doghouse after getting a 92FS and a .30 Cal Blackhawk in the course of a week, so I'm in trouble. That and I've got about 25 AR-15 magazines sitting around, roughly 13 H&K Magazines and 12 GI aluminum ones and I don't care for the H&K ones since they are longer and heavier. The Duracoat seems to hold up well on some PMAGs that I did a while back. If I had some work rolling in to Duracoat then it might have prevented me from doing the magazines but I don't so I got to looking around. Not to many people are looking to have their firearms Duracoated. So I've resorted to taking beer mugs that I get from Walmart and etching them for various guys that I work for to kill time as well. I get bored easily and there's not that much TV I want to watch anymore. Here's a picture of the glass etching that I've done: -

Digital multi-cam or standard multi-cam since we're throwing out the ideas of wanting to see patterns in digital? PM sent back to Paletiger, looks like something I can do. Just have to get some additional colors I don't normally stock. -
Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series Ultimate Knife
gunrunner32 replied to jtluttrell's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Aside from the firestarter and the squared off back end it looks a lot like the Gerber Infantryman knife that I have. This is by far my favorite knife: http://www.smkw.com/webapp/eCommerce/products/MOD854.html serrated back and small portion of the blade, handle feels great in the hands, beats the crap outta any Gerber or Benchmade that I have. -

Thing's are kind of boring around the house and slow at work, so I've decided to take about a dozen of my H&K magazines and Duracoat them in various patterns and designs. I've got a vynil cutter so as long as I can get a vectored image of a design or pattern I can have it cut and applied to make the pattern. ***I know posts are useless without pictures, they will come once the magazines are finished.*** What would you like to see have done? I was thinking and I have the paint to do the following: 1. Desert Tri-color 2. Desert Storm Choco-chip 3. Urban Style Tri-color (Black, Grey, White) 4. Woodland 5. Multi-cam As much as I don't like doing the digital pattern it does seem to turn out very good. Does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas for other patterns or designs to incorporate? Like I said I'm bored so I'm up for pretty much anything. -
What Did You Folks Think of The Murfreesboro Gun Show?
gunrunner32 replied to Sidewinder's topic in Events and Gatherings
I went there looking to re-supply on some ammo. Didn't find anything that caught my eye, the prices were no different than what I can find at Tennessee Gun Country. I was looking for .30 Cal Carbine in particular and they ranged between 25 to 28 a box of 50. I was offered a deal of 23 a box if I bought 5 or more boxes, I don't shoot my revolver that much and with my recent trips the wife wasn't fond of me spending too much. I got there at 3 today and the vendors were packing their goods up by 3:30, very disappointed, guess they didn't want to be there. -
I have these 2 from 2a-gear.com, price isn't bad at $16:
-
Yea I've been looking on there, I wish they had some kind of alert email that went out on desired parts once they were in stock like Midwayusa or even gunbroker.
-
I'm not allowed to part with it, it's a co-worker's and it was his dad's first rifle and I offered him a grand for it in as is condition with the scope, but he said nothing would pry it from him. I'll be calling Jack First Gun Shop in SD to see if they can help me, thanks for the tip DLM.

First off I'm supposed to be working and the rifle is sitting in the truck. It's a Winchester Model 52B I'm pretty sure. It is in need of a new bolt (since it doesn't have one) and a magazine or two (again since it doesn't have any). Question is does anyone have an old bolt or magazine sitting around? Does anyone know where I can purchase either of these? I'm wanting to get this rifle right. It also has a crazy a$$ scope on it, the only markings I found on it was "Telescope M82" and the SN. Any help with this is greatly appreciated, I want to get this rifle right. Thanks, GR32

I own both, can't beat the DI but the Piston is just fun and the clean up couldn't be easier. Voted Piston for overall clean up, and it's fun watching my wife shoot it.

This thing is pretty cool, wonder why I hadn't stumbled on it and earlier. Everyone should do it, give you an idea of potential shooting partners out there.
