Things you see driving. saw a guy lose a tire.
gunrunner32 replied to vontar's topic in General Chat
I was sitting at a light in Raleigh, NC when a newer Dodge 1500 turning left lost one of it's 20+" rims. I couldn't help but laugh at them, I don't think a truck should have big goofy rims, 17" max. It ended up being the driverside front that fell off. The Tire came to a stop in the front bumper of the Honda Civic waiting in the left turn lane of the opposing traffic. From what I would see as I drove by the rim had actually broke where is meets the hub. Crazy crap happens, I've also been behind a guy on I-75 South in Cincinnati driving along at about 70 or so when his rear axle snapped and everything from the leaf springs over came out into the median. Haven't seen too much in TN yet... only a matter of time I guess. -
I've had similar issues when I'm posting a thread it will kick me out requiring a log in and deleting my thread and causing to make me start over again...not too sure why?

My Modified M17S..... Still want another one lol
gunrunner32 replied to Paletiger13's topic in Show and Tell
It shoots pretty good, just doesn't like to eat steel cased ammo if memory serves me right. It was still a good shooting rifle, maybe I'll bring you some M4 zero targets and we will get those irons on target. -
Middle TN Owl Hollow/ CHMR November 14th Meet & Shoot
gunrunner32 replied to bigwakes's topic in Events and Gatherings
I'm in and this time I'll try harder to be there when it starts instead of being fashionably late. -
i could make the 14th work unless the class that I'm in doesn't permit it for some strange reason....hell might have to freeze over first but you never know weirder crap has happened to me.
-
I'm the one holding the bolt action 20 gauge in on of NashvilleStage's upper pictures as well as shooting the M17S that Paletiger13 brought. Thanks to Bigwakes for putting this together, I'm looking forward to the next one already. Guntroll, if you want to carpool to the next one again let me know.

My wife would have said neither and that she would rather take the money that would have been spent and go to Chicago with her friends.

I only shoot Wolf or any of the other steel cased rounds through my eastern block/commie guns anymore. If the hammer you're using isn't working, get a bigger hammer. That little motto will work about 90% of the time. Just try and remember its a fine made peice of American made machinery, feed it crap and you'll get crap.

I've made some out of some old plate armor and a plasma cutter. Never did make a clean cut and always ended up having sharp edges. Suprisingly enough, 300WM and 50BMG would go right through it all the way out to 600m. It's nice but there are places online to get it already cut and in stands for relatively cheap. I've got some of these now: Law Enforcement Targets, Inc.: F2, 42" HIGH VELOCITY STEEL RESET POPPER and these are fun too: Law Enforcement Targets, Inc.: MDHV-T DLX 6 PADDLE TREE

This is my Stoeger: It's an awesome shotgun, and both triggers at the same time always turns heads at the range. I'm not too sure about the pistol grip though, looks like they may have taken the buttstock off and cut it down, luckily they were still within the 26" federal limit.

send some oil down the barrel to try and help "slick" it up and try the hammer again. have you tried to let the bolt slam on it and see if you can get the extractor to do it's job? if a cleaning rod is too flimsy go to lowes and pick up a 3/16" or slightly bigger 12 gauge steel rod and try that, it seems to be a little more rigid and sturdy than any cleaning rods I've had. What kind of ammo is it? I know I had a problem with the steel cased crap like wolf in my blackhawk, had to take the cylinder out and force the casings out with a screwdriver.

I'll be heading there on sunday with my wife's grandpa. Not really looking for much though, I'm not allowed to. I just got some of my ammo stock for the shoot on the 30th.

Thanks, it just depends on the peice, on average about 2 hours of prep from sandblasting, cleaning, degreasing, phos coating. The standard multicam takes about 20 hours on a pistol and about 30 hours of work on an assault rifle, the bolt action was about 25 hours. Time will probably be cut a little now that I have a vynil cutter, all those except the digital was done by hand. The digital i had cut by a friend in Colorado. The digital pistol was about 25 hours of work. The masking and unmasking takes a lot of time as well as preping the equipment and cleaning.

First Batch of Project Magazines.
gunrunner32 replied to gunrunner32's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
My parents are down this weekend so it will be started probably on Monday, I'll just have to see how work goes. We're getting a new computer system so it should be thoroughly boring learning that thing. Pictures will be posted. I'm going to try to do a regular pattern and digital of each. -
This is the first batch of magazines, again the digital is always a pain in the butt but it comes out looking pretty good. They have a bit to much black for my taste. I think the Flecktarn (standard and digital) is going to be next after I get a few other projects that have came up are done. Then some Desert ones will be next to round it all off. It's done on an H&K steel magazine, heavy and reliable and a little quote from Snatch "heavy is good...if it doesn't work you could always hit him with it". Let the criticism begin:
-
I did the duracoating myself, and after some careful cohersing with one of my larger hammers I got the factory rear sight out.
-
I've got a kit in my 92FS and after some "fitting" it seems to work pretty good. The kit that I have wasn't made for the triggers that are polymer, not sure why it's polymer, so I had to remove some of the trigger to make it work. The trigger pull feels good though and in single action it's extremely crisp. I would get them again, looking into a springer precision kit for my XD that's next.

Yea I'm down with a carpool. I'll clear out the back seat for the guns. I'll give you a call about it and I owe you an email anyhow.
-
I'm planning on being there, need to plus up on some ammo first. I've got a few assault rifles I'll bring, some pistols (.30 cal carbine Blackhawk, I know there aren't too many who have shot this one) and some shotguns. Who's going to provide the name tags? If there is anything that I can bring to help with the food stuffs let me know.
-
Nope I'm not going anywhere, no worries about that. Work may drag me away from time to time but I'll still be around. I'm working on some H&K magazines in various patterns that I'll be sharing with everyone once they are done. Thanks for the comments and apologies again to the Mods for my screw up.

I've been doing it on and off for the last 2 years because of my day job. Now I leave you with some works that I have done:
-
Not sure about the carry part, still trying to talk my wife into letting me get my CHP. She says I need to work on my patience and temper first. I'm glad some of ya'll like it, I'll be bringing it to the Owl Hollow shoot on the 30th, hopefully with a nice stock of .45 as well.

I invite you all to a Postal Match - The Zombie Apocalypse
gunrunner32 replied to stahlmangc's topic in General Chat
I tried to download the file at work, I'm assuming it was the previous file since I normally don't have any problem with PDF files. So I can print more without my wife getting mad that I'm using all her ink I emailed myself the file. I'll be shooting it next weekend with my XD w/red dot and my 92FS with irons. I think dad will have his hand at it as well. -
So I talked myself into changing my XD around, out with the old in with the new. I'm pretty happy with the Duracoat on it so I decided to leave that alone. Because of the Duracoat I won't be stippling it any time soon, so what's left? Change the sights around. I decided to go a little overboard and figured my AK didnt need it's Docter sight anymore since afterall it's an AK. So I knocked out the rear sight and inserted a Springer Precision Docter/Jpoint mount. Threw the Docter on it and boresighted it. I'll shoot it next weekend to get it completely dialed in. Here's the results: Feel free to criticize, I'm not 100% sure I like it yet either.

Nice Greg, I'll play the game, just need a pumpkin. What are we looking for scary, patriotic, goofy?
