  1. This is my Stoeger: It's an awesome shotgun, and both triggers at the same time always turns heads at the range. I'm not too sure about the pistol grip though, looks like they may have taken the buttstock off and cut it down, luckily they were still within the 26" federal limit.
  2. send some oil down the barrel to try and help "slick" it up and try the hammer again. have you tried to let the bolt slam on it and see if you can get the extractor to do it's job? if a cleaning rod is too flimsy go to lowes and pick up a 3/16" or slightly bigger 12 gauge steel rod and try that, it seems to be a little more rigid and sturdy than any cleaning rods I've had. What kind of ammo is it? I know I had a problem with the steel cased crap like wolf in my blackhawk, had to take the cylinder out and force the casings out with a screwdriver.
  3. I'll be heading there on sunday with my wife's grandpa. Not really looking for much though, I'm not allowed to. I just got some of my ammo stock for the shoot on the 30th.
  4. Thanks, it just depends on the peice, on average about 2 hours of prep from sandblasting, cleaning, degreasing, phos coating. The standard multicam takes about 20 hours on a pistol and about 30 hours of work on an assault rifle, the bolt action was about 25 hours. Time will probably be cut a little now that I have a vynil cutter, all those except the digital was done by hand. The digital i had cut by a friend in Colorado. The digital pistol was about 25 hours of work. The masking and unmasking takes a lot of time as well as preping the equipment and cleaning.
  5. My parents are down this weekend so it will be started probably on Monday, I'll just have to see how work goes. We're getting a new computer system so it should be thoroughly boring learning that thing. Pictures will be posted. I'm going to try to do a regular pattern and digital of each.
  6. This is the first batch of magazines, again the digital is always a pain in the butt but it comes out looking pretty good. They have a bit to much black for my taste. I think the Flecktarn (standard and digital) is going to be next after I get a few other projects that have came up are done. Then some Desert ones will be next to round it all off. It's done on an H&K steel magazine, heavy and reliable and a little quote from Snatch "heavy is good...if it doesn't work you could always hit him with it". Let the criticism begin:
  7. I did the duracoating myself, and after some careful cohersing with one of my larger hammers I got the factory rear sight out.
  8. I've got a kit in my 92FS and after some "fitting" it seems to work pretty good. The kit that I have wasn't made for the triggers that are polymer, not sure why it's polymer, so I had to remove some of the trigger to make it work. The trigger pull feels good though and in single action it's extremely crisp. I would get them again, looking into a springer precision kit for my XD that's next.
  9. Yea I'm down with a carpool. I'll clear out the back seat for the guns. I'll give you a call about it and I owe you an email anyhow.
  10. I'm planning on being there, need to plus up on some ammo first. I've got a few assault rifles I'll bring, some pistols (.30 cal carbine Blackhawk, I know there aren't too many who have shot this one) and some shotguns. Who's going to provide the name tags? If there is anything that I can bring to help with the food stuffs let me know.
  11. Nope I'm not going anywhere, no worries about that. Work may drag me away from time to time but I'll still be around. I'm working on some H&K magazines in various patterns that I'll be sharing with everyone once they are done. Thanks for the comments and apologies again to the Mods for my screw up.
  12. I've been doing it on and off for the last 2 years because of my day job. Now I leave you with some works that I have done:
  13. Not sure about the carry part, still trying to talk my wife into letting me get my CHP. She says I need to work on my patience and temper first. I'm glad some of ya'll like it, I'll be bringing it to the Owl Hollow shoot on the 30th, hopefully with a nice stock of .45 as well.
  14. I tried to download the file at work, I'm assuming it was the previous file since I normally don't have any problem with PDF files. So I can print more without my wife getting mad that I'm using all her ink I emailed myself the file. I'll be shooting it next weekend with my XD w/red dot and my 92FS with irons. I think dad will have his hand at it as well.
  15. So I talked myself into changing my XD around, out with the old in with the new. I'm pretty happy with the Duracoat on it so I decided to leave that alone. Because of the Duracoat I won't be stippling it any time soon, so what's left? Change the sights around. I decided to go a little overboard and figured my AK didnt need it's Docter sight anymore since afterall it's an AK. So I knocked out the rear sight and inserted a Springer Precision Docter/Jpoint mount. Threw the Docter on it and boresighted it. I'll shoot it next weekend to get it completely dialed in. Here's the results: Feel free to criticize, I'm not 100% sure I like it yet either.
  16. Nice Greg, I'll play the game, just need a pumpkin. What are we looking for scary, patriotic, goofy?
  17. I live by the motto that "It fires better with a little carbon on it". That was taken a little too much to heart and when I finally broke a trigger spring on my 92 and it wasn't completely decocking every time I decided to do a little armorer level cleaning and had to scrape the carbon build up off with a flathead screwdriver. I wouldn't suggest doing what I do, that was after close to 1500 rounds of 124gr 9mm, I could only imagine what my AR looks like, but I'll clean it when I have a problem. My other gas AR I clean each and every time I shoot it.
  18. I've got an Adams Arms piston on my AR-Mutt and I've got close to 2k without a cleaning. You'll be happy with the piston set up. The set-up I've got is the Adams Arms piston on a 14.5" Sabre Defense barrel with a RRA Chrome BCG, a DD rail, a VLTOR MUR-1A upper and I found an H3 buffer to help the bolt. Works flawlessly, only malfunctions I've had were due to old mags which later turned into target practice.
  19. Next time I buy one, The only one that I have now, the frame is done in a digital multi-cam which took forever to do so I really don't want to strip it just to stipple it. Maybe I'll talk one of my Glock toting friends into letting me put some on theirs. The middle I've found is called "tree bark", it probably had the least noticable amount of texture, but still had more than the standard grip.
  20. Had some old AR grips sitting around so I decided to practice a little stippling. Let me know what you think.
  21. If it's the one at the armory, then no I wouldn't waste my time even driving by it. Go to the Bill Goodmans at the Nashville Fair Grounds. The one here in clarksville is small (room is about 60'x90') with nothing that is a wow or worth the $7 it costs to get in. The only gun show that I've really been "wowed" by was the one they used to have in Smyrna, not sure what happened to that one though.
  22. I'll play your game...once I get home I'll have to print up the target since my work computer isn't cooperating with the link. What's up with the TGO online precision shooting challenge?

    My new AR!

Nice touches with the engravings. Good looking rifle overall, I prefer my 14.5" barrels but thats me. Don't forget to give us a range report, we all wanna know how she fires.
  24. Actually I've ran out of firearm related things that my wife will let me buy. I found myself in the doghouse after getting a 92FS and a .30 Cal Blackhawk in the course of a week, so I'm in trouble. That and I've got about 25 AR-15 magazines sitting around, roughly 13 H&K Magazines and 12 GI aluminum ones and I don't care for the H&K ones since they are longer and heavier. The Duracoat seems to hold up well on some PMAGs that I did a while back. If I had some work rolling in to Duracoat then it might have prevented me from doing the magazines but I don't so I got to looking around. Not to many people are looking to have their firearms Duracoated. So I've resorted to taking beer mugs that I get from Walmart and etching them for various guys that I work for to kill time as well. I get bored easily and there's not that much TV I want to watch anymore. Here's a picture of the glass etching that I've done:
  25. Digital multi-cam or standard multi-cam since we're throwing out the ideas of wanting to see patterns in digital? PM sent back to Paletiger, looks like something I can do. Just have to get some additional colors I don't normally stock.
