  1. Remington...familiar with their products, been using them at work now for the last 5 years. I know it's not the same as the Rem 700 but quality can't be far off. I've never worked with the Savage trigger system so to me different is well...different.

I have the Coach Supreme. It's a blast to shoot. Never tried it with skeet or anything, never had the oppertunity yet. It's a blast to make noise at the range with both triggers going off at the same time and holds a nice group at 15 meters.
  3. Classic, atleast it will keep you busy for a bit. I knew of a guy that left his boresighter in the end of his barrel when he went to "test fire". He has a new barrel now and I've since talked him into using boresighters that go in the chamber.
  4. Hmm forgot there was a difference, been playing Just Cause 2 for so long now that I never payed attention to the difference since it's not online. My steam name is gun_runner32.
  5. Welcome from Clarksville....Sango area. Have fun on here, I've been for a while.
  6. My wife just gave me Black Ops today as an early christmas present...she got her kindle so I guess it was a fair trade. If you want to add me I'm Scarecrow532. So far all I have done is found a German server...can't understand German.
  7. Yea I noticed that myself later on. It will be going back in the sand blaster tomorrow. I'll be having at talk with the vinyl cutter tomorrow as well.
  8. Well this is what the final product looks like. Thoughts, criticisms, critiques?
  9. All serial numbers on the barrel, slide and frame are still intact. For those of you still questioning why I did this, it is for a Duracoat job for a friend. I wanted a smooth surface to work with so the stampings wouldn't work against the graphics I would later be spraying on the slide. I was just simply showing off a little and seeing some input on what others thought.
  10. Why? I am creating a tribute peice to the guy who started the Entertainment Services division of CAT (Caterpillar). He is my friend's dad and this is a Christmas present for him from his son...after it passes through my hands. With filling in the stampings it gives me a longer surface to work with and gives the peice more of a custom feel. I'll be posting the pictures once it's done. Right now I'm battling my computer trying to vector the images I've created for it, as well as other images for other Christmas presents.
  11. It still as the Glock logo as well as the numerical Glock value.
  12. So I decided that I needed to take a new Glock 30SF and get rid of the "Austria" and ".45 Auto". I asked around and got pointed in the direction of using Devcon to fill the stamping. I hate stamped metal, it flairs up around the stampings and makes refilling a pain. So after an hour of so of sanding (Dremel crapped out on my last project) and getting down to 400 grit it was smooth. Now time for the Devcon, I mixed the 2 part epoxy and began to float the stampings (kinda like doing drywall but with a toothpick). Along with all that I then began the prep work for recoating. All media blasting was done before the sanding and floating. I recoated it with a nice combat black (one thing to keep in mind I was messing around and taping off the sights and noticed that the masking tape I was using discolored the Glock factory finish.) Once done this Glock will be a tribute to the Entertainment Services division of CAT. Here's what I ended up with so far: Finished pictures will be later. Also I want to thank GunTroll for telling my about Devcon and allowing me to use his stuff. He is a great guy to deal with.
  13. My wife thinks it's horrible....I think it is the greatest thing ever.
  14. I stopped by G&L tonight, great crew there like always. I've got my eye on several wheel guns there now. I got a Glock 30SF, it wasn't a blue label but with the discount it was only $30 or so more than the blue label. Thanks for the help to all those who pointed me in the right direction.
  15. I'll give you a call tomorrow when I get off work, I think that I'm going to get a 30 first. Tinker with it and then see where I go from there with my Glock line-up.
  16. I figured the Competition ones would be more, but either way it's still a good price.
  17. I'm undecided, I want either a 34 or a 17C. I guess I will make my run through the local shops on my way home and then give G&L a call when I get home. Knoxville is a bit of a drive for me for a firearm. If it were for a collectors peice then I'd find the drive worth it, about the only thing that would drive me out of western TN would be an original Colt Single Action Army at a hell of a deal.
  18. Does anyone know where I can pick up a Glock at Military/LE pricing? I know I can order them from Glock for around $390, but a few shops I've talked to said they won't order in what they already keep in stock. If someone could point me in the direction of a shop in the Nashville/Clarksville area.
  19. You might want to see what GunTroll can do for you at Mid Tn Gunsmithing.
  20. Use some Naval Jelly on the rust. a scotchbrite pad to rough up the surface, and I don't know why rustoleum wouldn't work then throw a few coats of clear to protect the paint and give it a sheen that you like (Flat, Satin or Gloss). For the wood top you can go to Lowes and get a peice of milled lumber, it comes in a lot of different sizes and types of wood.
  21. Paletiger, I don't think anyone took any pictures of us...your ninja smoke shields were too thick.
  22. I like stuff like this as well, I have my dad looking for me as well. He's the kind that won't stop until he has an answer. I have a Hamilton Co. 22LR, I forget the model off the top of my head. That one is easy, it's clearly marked with dates, names, serial numbers and caliber. This one has nothing like that, it doesn't even have a serial number on it. Thanks again to all of you that have been looking to help me.
  23. The range on the public side is covered with tables anyhow, I don't remember the pistol pit, I never made it down there. I was at the 100yd range with Guntroll for the rest of the afternoon on the last shoot. I'll still be there, cooler with Pepsi/Coke will be on the tailgate. Anyone have a preference on drinks? I'm up for anything and I don't drink it my wife will.
  24. I second that, and welcome to the site
  25. I did this one...guess you could count it as a decal.
