  1. Last time I was in TN Gun Country in Clarksville the DPMS was $114 for a Spikes Tactical, $120 for a Yankee Hill, $117 for a Del-Ton, $120 for a Stag, $125 for a DPMS and $150 for a Sun Devil. They stick it to you on the LPK though, I think it was around $80 and then you still have to get the buffer tube and buffer. Back in January 2009 I bent over and took it when I bought my DPMS stripped lower for $250.
  2. Well I was going to do a before and after of this, but the before pictures are no longer around so all you get is the afters. This was in fairly decent shape but was definantly well worn and had a problem with the cylinder sticking, hopefully that problem was solved. I decided to Cerakote it in a two-tone Graphite Black and Sniper Grey. I still need to replace the grips on this one but they cost half as much as I paid for the pistol so I may just wait. Here are the results.
  3. The only time you would really need to replace the gas tube roll pin would be if you damaged it in the removal process. I've never really had a problem removing one, but they can get a little sticky at times and as David said use heat sparingly. Keep at it if anything gas tubes are cheap. If you don't mind me asking what is the purpose of removing it?
  4. Reg, what stock do you have on the Volquartsen 10/22?

I don't remember ever seeing it, interesting though
  6. I've been in Mid South Institute of Self-Defense Shooting, not sure if they do anything other than Police, Government/Security Agencys or Military though and it's in northern Mississippi about 20 mins away from Memphis. A decent casino is near by too. I've never been but heard good things about a little place called Tier 1 Group and I wanna say it's in Arkansas.
  7. If all you need is the 45 auto then I'll take your 44 mag.
  8. I used to have a Roland STX-8 12" cut, but the software was so old it only would work with my old desktop computer. Well that computer crashed so I got rid of the Roland, I had only paid $100 for it to begin with. I am not working with a USCutter MH series 12" cutter (USCutter MH-series Vinyl Cutter) and I think I spent $245 or something after shipping. The damn thing is heavy for what it is, and it works with all my computers (XP, Vista, 7). The only thing that's time consuming is getting the images vectored to go into the cutter program. 20$ isn't bad, I get my vinyl from walmart just due to accessibility, it has worked very well so far and it's only 9$ for 2 12x18" sheets. I guess when the situation arises I'll be playing around with the camo patterns and see how I do, I like to think I have the Duracoat process down, still learning with the cera though.
  9. Mine: Still not too sure about this one other than it's a "Royal Junior", but for free I couldn't pass up the price. This one isn't my exact Hamilton Model 27, mine is under my old bed at my parent's house in OH. Mine is considerably more rough.
  10. I did my comparison in another thread, it's titled exactly that. I'm still working on my learning curve with Cerakote but it's not too much different prep work and application than Duracoat. I had to learn the hard way about applying a "wet" coat with the cera, but that was learned early on some starter pieces. I just got my account with NIC a few days ago and was buying a very limited amount of colors for about 10 less than what NIC has them for from Brownells. I'm very impressed with the durability right out of the oven during reassembly and installing sights. I'm not impressed by the price and lack of color choices of the specific firearm paints. I've yet to do a camo pattern with the cera, what kind of masking/vinyl do you use and how does it hold up in the oven or do you take it off before baking? Or for the camo patterns do you use the air cure line? Do you have your own vinyl cutter? I know mine has came in useful for a lot of projects, I use mine to make masks on glasses before I sand blast them to etch the glass.
  11. Wow I was way off in the colors, The AR looks nice, a bit much for me. The most extreme AR I have is a throwback to Vietnam Tigerstripe, I did that one like 3 years ago. Give me some time I'll learn to spot the colors of Cerakote, I do pretty good with Duracoat spotting. It looks like you could use a sweet little Surefire IR laser on there...Nicely done though.
  12. I did a resto for a guy at work that had a 52B, it was a nice rifle, his had a M81 scope on it though. I'll be getting pictures of mine once I find my harddrive.
  13. On my side of the bed I've got my Stoeger Coach Supreme and in the nightstand safe is my XD45 and 2 mags, My wife's side of the bed is the SA Ultra Compact with 2 mags, Sig P226 with 2 mags and my Mossberg Tac Cruiser, behind the closet door is my AR-15 and 1 mag. Sitting between my couch cushion on my side of the couch is my asp. Mind you I live in a 3 story condo where the main living areas is on the 2nd and 3rd floors so I have some major choke points thanks to the stairs where I can set up shop and wait.
  14. Rookie, Let me know when you want some lessons. I'm just bustin your balls, it looks good. I'm trying to figure out which colors you used. Looks like a Sniper Grey maybe, Gun Metal Grey maybe and I'm not sure the third color. Oh and that 1/16" digital pattern, I wouldn't wish that kind of work on anyone.
  15. The prices were a little out there on some items. I can across a clearly used Ruger P89 and asked how much the guy told me $400. My dad bought one brand new 11 years ago and it still looks brand new for $250 back then. There were a lot of revolvers and other older pistols that I would have considered as a fixer upper for myself to take on but the cheapest one I found was $200 and it was worse for wear and a brand I wasn't familiar with by any means. I ment to stop by the leather booth to see what I couldn't do about getting a holster and cartridge belt for my Ruger .30 cal Blackhawk...no one seems to make a belt for a .30 cal carbine.
  16. I thought it was pretty good, it was a lot better than the one in Murfreesboro. The parking situation could have been better, thanks to the snow melting everything was mud. I liked the turn out, I saw a lot of things that I probably would have gotten if it wasn't for my wife and daughter being in tow. I didn't get to do as much wondering around as I wanted to thanks to the little one but I still enjoyed it.
  17. ^^^ hit the nail on the head, hell even Bill Goodmans went up a buck, they were at $8 now. I'm going around 1030 and I'll be trying to sell/trade my Sig P226 slide assembly and looking for a project pistol.
  18. I keep a Stoeger Coach Supreme 12 gauge on my side of the bed, my wife rocks my Mossberg 500 Tactical cruiser with front and rear pistol grips. She handles it well despite the fact shes only 5'1". Can't go wrong with a mossy or rem pump action.
  19. Mine was cancelled as well, was fun trying.
  20. Pistol - .22lr, .45ACP, 9mm, .30 Carbine Rifle - .303 British, 5.56/.223, 7.62x39, .22lr Shotgun - 12ga, 20ga
  21. Well I plan to fight it until I lose interest and get my money back. I was in Best Buy a few years ago and Picked up a computer program Nero 7 and the sticker and tag on the shelf all said $99.99, it rang up $9.99. The cashier said it was weird and we rolled with it. My parents have gotten some pictures from Pier 1 for a misplaced period, they fought it and got a couple hundred in art for around a hundred. I could care less if this pans out, I've got a Wii that just sits there, had an XBox and passed that off to some friends, PS2 back in the day and left that with some roommates I had, but if it does yay for all of us who jumped on it.
  22. Guns & Leather in Greenbriar has 2 Serbu Super Shorties on the wall. One in a Remington 870 platform and the other on a Mossberg 500 platform. I want to say they are stickered at around $800. I've been eyeballing them for a while now and need to stop buying parts, tools and other guns so I can finally get one.
  23. Count me in, I ordered one, lets see what happens. $60 or so after shipping, I'll get it and find a reason for it later.
  24. I've had a few pass through my hands, ones that were already pink and those I made pink. My wife hates them, she wants all my guns to either be stainless or black. Then again my wife likes guns so she's probably not like most who would have to have a girly gun to enjoy it.
  25. Nice 1911, I got my Springer Ultra Compact V-10 there. I love G&L but there are other shops that will still get my business due to customer service and just overall great guys to deal with. Where are you at in 5th?
