  1. I did my comparison in another thread, it's titled exactly that. I'm still working on my learning curve with Cerakote but it's not too much different prep work and application than Duracoat. I had to learn the hard way about applying a "wet" coat with the cera, but that was learned early on some starter pieces. I just got my account with NIC a few days ago and was buying a very limited amount of colors for about 10 less than what NIC has them for from Brownells. I'm very impressed with the durability right out of the oven during reassembly and installing sights. I'm not impressed by the price and lack of color choices of the specific firearm paints. I've yet to do a camo pattern with the cera, what kind of masking/vinyl do you use and how does it hold up in the oven or do you take it off before baking? Or for the camo patterns do you use the air cure line? Do you have your own vinyl cutter? I know mine has came in useful for a lot of projects, I use mine to make masks on glasses before I sand blast them to etch the glass.
  2. Wow I was way off in the colors, The AR looks nice, a bit much for me. The most extreme AR I have is a throwback to Vietnam Tigerstripe, I did that one like 3 years ago. Give me some time I'll learn to spot the colors of Cerakote, I do pretty good with Duracoat spotting. It looks like you could use a sweet little Surefire IR laser on there...Nicely done though.
  3. I did a resto for a guy at work that had a 52B, it was a nice rifle, his had a M81 scope on it though. I'll be getting pictures of mine once I find my harddrive.
  4. On my side of the bed I've got my Stoeger Coach Supreme and in the nightstand safe is my XD45 and 2 mags, My wife's side of the bed is the SA Ultra Compact with 2 mags, Sig P226 with 2 mags and my Mossberg Tac Cruiser, behind the closet door is my AR-15 and 1 mag. Sitting between my couch cushion on my side of the couch is my asp. Mind you I live in a 3 story condo where the main living areas is on the 2nd and 3rd floors so I have some major choke points thanks to the stairs where I can set up shop and wait.
  5. Rookie, Let me know when you want some lessons. I'm just bustin your balls, it looks good. I'm trying to figure out which colors you used. Looks like a Sniper Grey maybe, Gun Metal Grey maybe and I'm not sure the third color. Oh and that 1/16" digital pattern, I wouldn't wish that kind of work on anyone.
  6. The prices were a little out there on some items. I can across a clearly used Ruger P89 and asked how much the guy told me $400. My dad bought one brand new 11 years ago and it still looks brand new for $250 back then. There were a lot of revolvers and other older pistols that I would have considered as a fixer upper for myself to take on but the cheapest one I found was $200 and it was worse for wear and a brand I wasn't familiar with by any means. I ment to stop by the leather booth to see what I couldn't do about getting a holster and cartridge belt for my Ruger .30 cal Blackhawk...no one seems to make a belt for a .30 cal carbine.
  7. I thought it was pretty good, it was a lot better than the one in Murfreesboro. The parking situation could have been better, thanks to the snow melting everything was mud. I liked the turn out, I saw a lot of things that I probably would have gotten if it wasn't for my wife and daughter being in tow. I didn't get to do as much wondering around as I wanted to thanks to the little one but I still enjoyed it.
  8. ^^^ hit the nail on the head, hell even Bill Goodmans went up a buck, they were at $8 now. I'm going around 1030 and I'll be trying to sell/trade my Sig P226 slide assembly and looking for a project pistol.
  9. I keep a Stoeger Coach Supreme 12 gauge on my side of the bed, my wife rocks my Mossberg 500 Tactical cruiser with front and rear pistol grips. She handles it well despite the fact shes only 5'1". Can't go wrong with a mossy or rem pump action.
  10. Mine was cancelled as well, was fun trying.
  11. Pistol - .22lr, .45ACP, 9mm, .30 Carbine Rifle - .303 British, 5.56/.223, 7.62x39, .22lr Shotgun - 12ga, 20ga
  12. Well I plan to fight it until I lose interest and get my money back. I was in Best Buy a few years ago and Picked up a computer program Nero 7 and the sticker and tag on the shelf all said $99.99, it rang up $9.99. The cashier said it was weird and we rolled with it. My parents have gotten some pictures from Pier 1 for a misplaced period, they fought it and got a couple hundred in art for around a hundred. I could care less if this pans out, I've got a Wii that just sits there, had an XBox and passed that off to some friends, PS2 back in the day and left that with some roommates I had, but if it does yay for all of us who jumped on it.
  13. Guns & Leather in Greenbriar has 2 Serbu Super Shorties on the wall. One in a Remington 870 platform and the other on a Mossberg 500 platform. I want to say they are stickered at around $800. I've been eyeballing them for a while now and need to stop buying parts, tools and other guns so I can finally get one.
  14. Count me in, I ordered one, lets see what happens. $60 or so after shipping, I'll get it and find a reason for it later.
  15. I've had a few pass through my hands, ones that were already pink and those I made pink. My wife hates them, she wants all my guns to either be stainless or black. Then again my wife likes guns so she's probably not like most who would have to have a girly gun to enjoy it.
  16. Nice 1911, I got my Springer Ultra Compact V-10 there. I love G&L but there are other shops that will still get my business due to customer service and just overall great guys to deal with. Where are you at in 5th?
  17. DaveTN, yea it was at the AG expo center now that you say that I remember the name. So it is the one in Murfreesboro?
  18. As the title states...where did it go. I can't remember if it was an R&K show or not, I know there's the one in Murfreesboro now. That one has been extremely less than impressive. I always liked the one in Smyrna and it always had a good turn out. I know it wasn't the Bill Goodmans show...anyone have any info on it?
  19. I wanted to get out today to shoot this months match but I don't have a wingman to keep time and I'm waiting on a package I have to sign for. Maybe Monday since the little one will be in daycare and I'll drag the wife out to run the clock.
  20. Second Jasongar8, pictures are the proof.
  21. I second SmokyBaer, get it and then shoot the hell out of it and let us know how she runs.
  22. I have the Ultra Compact V-10 model and I enjoy the hell out of that pistol. I would be very interested in a long slide model to add to the collection myself...if my wife didn't keep close tabs on my gun buying, that's why I'm looking for a beater pistol now to add. I say get it and then give me a call and let me shoot the hell out of it with you. Bad thing about ported barrels...shooting at night, won't be doing very much of it with that thing.
  23. Yay, so there is hope for a boy from Cincinnati.
  24. Just ordered the Kaiser Uni-200L, I'll give a good review once I receive it.
  25. As for this issue I've been running into with my own peices, I think I'm going to have to break down and get a sight pusher. I've seen the MGW tools, but at $100+ a weapon system that would greatly cut into my already minimal fun funds. No one told me a kid would be such an expensive pet. I've been looking at the Kaiser Uni-200L, seems pretty user friendly and after a bunch of reviews and videos on it's operation it seems like it would get the job done. Once I get it I'll have to give a run down on it to maybe help out others in the same boat as myself or those that just want a good universal sight tool.
