  1. Yeah they like to mess with us. I'd be really surprised to find a C&R AK47. Unfortunately the availability of C&R guns is not that good at most companies.
  2. I hope they make a good go of it too. I don't own a Knight but have shot'em and they are awesome rifles.
  3. What do most of you use, a rifle or shotgun? I have carried a .223 and .308 in the past but am thinking about using a shotgun. I've talked to some hunters that have had coyotes come almost in their laps.
  4. I need to dust off the calls and try to go and call some.
  5. Well bud I ain't seen it but a good hunting rig should have good racks on front and back. Maybe a trailor hitch and small winch. What size is it? The winch is real handy if you stick it and your a hog hunter. It would really pull a hog up hills easily.
  6. I killed one more Saturday morning about 6:50. I set up to cut off a gobbler that I chased awhile Friday morning. He gobbled about 20 times Friday but never made a peep Sat. He came in to the decoy silent. Killed him at about 28 yards. I hadn't had much luck in a week or more.
  7. Yeah he will be missed by me and many others.
  8. An old one can get a little tough. Some people will boil them a little while to tender'em up some and then fry or bake. I've had ghogs baked with salt, pepper, and sometimes garlic. When I was a kid my neighbor used to barbeque them. I don't know the recipe. There might be a recipe on the net somewhere.
  9. I hadn't realized it'd opened either. Too busy chasing Thunder Chickens. Might have to hunt some squirrels a little later.
  10. Oh man. I guess that was an expensive Mosin.
  11. Well I couldn't believe it. I actually heard 5 this morning. Had a hen come into my hen decoy and beat the hell out of it. Its a inflatable and was worried that she'd put a hole in it. Had to run the old heifer off. She blew my mind. She was all blowed up like a strutting gobbler. Fan spread and everything. Couldn't call a gobbler though. Gonna try it again in the morning. Time is ticking away.
  12. After turkey season's over I'm gonna get my Mosins out. May try to put a long relief scope on one.
  13. Nobody on this forum is talking about canned hunts. These hunts are for wild animals in normal hunting situations. Your not hunting farm hogs.
  14. Clay County. Celina is the County Seat. Moss is across the Cumberland River about 12 miles.
  15. Nobody's posted in a while. I wondered if anybody had scored. I guess most hunters have called it quits by now. I'm still hunting at least every other day. Not hearing many though. I'm lucky if I hear one a day. Its real tough right now. Real hard to call one now. If anybody has had any luck let us know.
  16. Hog huntin' is something I've never done, but wanted to for years. Maybe someday I'll get to. There's not any here where I live.
  17. Are the hogs there feral or classified as wild boar?
  18. I agree with the other posts about safes. Anybody that has very many guns or anything valuable should have a good gunsafe. Believe me I know because I need one bad. In the near future I will have one.
  19. Yeah Garufa thats it. The pic of the reciever crest is the Thai crest. His has that on it. His shoots good and handles good but the quality in my opinion ain't up to snuff. The gas port on originals like my Inland have a heavy band around the barrel. The gs port on the Howa/Thai is soldered on. If the gas port got plugged it would probably pop the port off. They got a little cheap on some things.
  20. Well said Mike. Most people will kill just any snake. By the way I like Rem. 125 gr. JHP in my .357.
  21. I did some work on my brother in law's Thai carbine made by Howa. It was doing the same thing and I replaced the recoil spring with a stronger one from Sarco and also gave the rifle a good cleaning throughout and lightly greased. By the way has anybody have any experience with these Thai carbines? Don't mean to hijack the thread here. In my opinion they are a cheap made knockoff. Tnrifleman hope the spring takes care of your rifle.
  22. 70below, A friend I used to work with had a S&W Sigma and loved it. His was a .40 though. I've read bad stuff about'em but have never actually heard anything said in person.
  23. If you don't mind a single shot. You might find a N.E.F. or Rossi. A dealer could probably order one pretty easy.
  24. Gregintenn, I guess I had my head somewhere.......... I quoted a little cheap huh. If you can get it for $400 it would be good maybe. They are kinda rare. The Marlin 1894 carbines are rare too. I've never seen many of either one.
  25. They're not cheap rifles at all. I would try to get it as cheap as I could. But it probably won't be real cheap. If you could get it for $300 or less, it would be a real bargain.
