  1. On the Outdoor Channel there is a show called Impossible shots and a guy on there named Bob Munden shot a NAA mini revolver and hit a balloon at 200 yards offhand. He said just because they're small don't mean they won't shoot.
  2. A Lorcin L380 was probably the worst. It shot ok but wouldn't good sometimes and was built CHEAP. I gave $70 for it and sold it for that.
  3. Saw a good'un last night when me and the wife was coming home from Cookeville. Looked like it had a good rack. Maybe 8 point. That was in Jackson Co. I've not seen anything around here interesting. When I get to go squirrel hunting I'll probably see something interesting.
  4. Where did you get the Finnish 39?
  5. Nice man, the PPsh-41 is welcome here too. I need to take a group pic of mine too.
  6. Like everybody else said. Just relax and try to hit your mark with the first shot and practice reloading quick and you'll be fine.
  7. I hear you brother. I kinda feel the same way. I can't wait myself. I don't bowhunt and its gonna be early Nov. for muzzleloader to open. I never took up bow hunting because its usually so hot.
  8. Yeah big racks that score really good are very valuable. Most all hunters that have killed high scoring B&C bucks have sold them for big bucks. Maybe mine will come someday. My best so far is 129 4/8 points. A midget compared to most.
  9. Looks like you might have some Boone & Crocket chickens there.

    Sporters

Most of the Lee-Enfield rifles are a little more common. It just bothers me when I see something like that Johnson '41 I was talking about. The Johnson 1941 is like the Holy Grail for Mil-Surps.

    Sporters

Well I sporterized a Turk 38 Mauser a few years ago but it was pretty rough when I got it. It would 've been hard to restore back. As far as taking something rare and sportering it. It irks me when I see a Garand or something else in that price range sportered. I saw a Johnson 1941 sportered on a website once. Probably done when they were more of them. There was only about 20,000 made..........
  12. Uh, wow is right Memphismason. He's pretty awesome.
  13. KahrMan, thats a nice knife. I prefer a folding knife. I actually use a scabbord, fixed position knife. Its a Shrade with a gut hook. Not a bad knife for $25. I've field dressed about 6 deer with it and have never sharpened it. Its got the original factory sharpening.
  14. It shouldn't be long till the velvet starts gettin' rubbed off. I need to get a trail camera whenever my funds are better. Everybody at Cummins where I worked last Fall asked if I'd ever seen the buck I got last November. I just said no. Thats the first time I saw him. Apparently I was the only one who didn't have a camera.
  15. I think Savage or Stevens is your best bet. The 770 and ATR 100 are a little cheap made . I've got a ATR and its a good shooter and handles good. But its a little cheap in some areas. I don't like the follower and follower spring and the extractor is a little fragile too.
  16. STEVENS!!!!!!!!!!!! And I've got a ATR 100.
  17. $17 for 50 is a good deal. I figured it would be way more.
  18. WD40, you got some good bucks. Looks like maybe 3-3 1\2 yr olds. Most bucks start to look good at that age. I let a buck about that age walk last year. 8 point with about 16" spread. He had good mass and some long tines. Maybe this year he'll be nice.
  19. I know some guys that have got good deals on guns at pawn shops but I've never. But I still like to look though. I mostly get good deals on DVD movies at Pawn shops.
  20. WD40, did you get another pic of him showing his whole rack? I've got to get a trail cam.
  21. Robtattoo, sounds like a good camera. I've put off getting a camera for a long time because the ones I've always wanted are sky high. I mean if you bought a expensive one theres always the chance that some ahole is gonna steal it. I'm gonna look into this camera. P.S. I remember Gene and Barry Wensel. I used to watch their videos all the time.
  22. Alright. I knew McArthur had something to do with it. Thanks.
  23. I use to keep my .223 busy hunting groundhogs. I don't even see very many anymore. The coyotes are hard on a lot of game.
  24. Because the 30-06 was already in use and proven and Douglas McArthur wanted no smaller caliber change. So that was that. I guess he'd really love the 5.56, huh. Anyway thats the story I heard anyway.
  25. Thanks Ftncityfatboy. I knew I should've said WILL. I taught a friend of mine years ago and he's still addicted.
