    WWII Rifles

    $4000 for a 1918 A 3-SLR sounds high, but its still cheaper than a average Johnson 1941.
  2. Congratulations on her bird. I was afraid the cool weather would make it hard on the kids hunting this weekend. I thought the birds may not gobble much.
  3. Does anybody know some good gunsmiths that could put a barrel on a Garand? My old WRA has a crappy barrel, but I do have a like new replacement. I just don't want to try this myself. I've done some gun tinkering but nothing like this. Thanks.
  4. How many pounds do the buckets usually have? What size bucket? Even a 2 gallon bucket would have a lot of weight.
  5. Caster, you should'nt have any problem finding a good load. In my experience its been a easy cal. to load and find good loads for. I've got some Sierra 168 gr. HPBT that I'm dying to load and shoot. There accurate out of about anything you try. My hunting bullet is Hornady 150 gr. spirepoints.
  6. A tire dealer gave me about 25 lbs. of WW yesterday. He wouldn't take anything for them.
  7. Thanks Caster, I've not heard of that one.
  8. Yeah the good ol days. I wish I'd bought some when they was cheap and plentiful.
  9. She's got me beat. My heaviest smallmouth was 3 1/2 lb.
  10. Yeah I'm really revved up about turkeys this season. I had a good season last year and hope this year is good.
  11. Ok here's a dumb question. What's 5744?
  12. Caster, I think there should be shooting matches where the targets are bad computer components.
  13. Who shoots their M44 with the bayonet extended? I have shot both of mine like that, but usually shoot with it folded.
  14. I saw a Chinese at a gunshow in Livingston one time and it was $250. I thought a little high. It was in decent shape though. I can't remember what the model is on them. Anybody know?
  15. Something that might work good for you and is sometimes affordable is surplus M2 bullets. I've loaded up some accurate target loads with them. You might give some a try.
  16. I bought my first press from Midway back in '87. There a good company to deal with.
  17. To be on the safe side I would think all zombie bodies would need to be completely burned. Don't want any fluids anywhere.
  18. The first turkey I ever killed, I killed with Activ 3" 2 oz. They had nickel plated # 5 shot. I killed that bird at 47 yards. I don't know if they still make them or not. Does anybody know if they're still in business.
  19. Thats wild, there must be some kind of strong chemical in skunk spray. I wonder why the bluing won't stay on the metal.
  20. Yeah Caster he gets his face messed up. Zombies probably don't feel pain.
  21. I hear there's been some good bulls killed in Ky. the last few years.
  22. Yeah I wish I'd bought 2 or 3 when they was cheap. I bought mine in '90 and they was everywhere then. Mine shot about 3" groups at 100 yds, but always shot about 4" high.
  23. What cal. are you shooting it in? The most powder capacity I have is a .30-06, but I loaded some 7mm Mag. with T5070 for a friend with 160 gr. and CCI 250 and it did alright.
  24. Red Dot, Green Dot, Bullseye, Win. 231, and Unique would all be good for light to thumper loads.
  25. I wondered what brand of shells everybody was using on here. I shoot a Mossberg 500 camo that I've had since '94. Its a 12 ga. 3" with Hastings .640 choke. I shoot the plain old Winchester 3" mags. that have 1 7/8 oz. #4 shot. I've got nothing against the "better" more expensive shells. The cheaper shells work good and I don't see any reason to change.
