  1. I used to shoot revolvers in 357 and 44 Mag from S&W. When I moved here I decided on a Semi and picked up a Sigma. After a few rounds I switched to a G22, then picked up a G27 for carry. The wife and I both like the 40 caliber but I ended up getting her a P239 Rainbow which she likes. All that was to say I had no problem converting to a Glock. I even consider myself a real Texas Sharpshooter! I shoot then draw the target around the holes to show every one how great I am! I can place all shots in the bull,s eye no matter how large I have to draw it!
  2. "Shot a friend of mines a few days ago. So much fun." Every time I see this. I wonder how the friend is doing because no one says what the extent of the damage was to the friend. Is your friend recovering from his wounds? The new AR looks like it would be fun to "DINK AROUND" with.
  3. I prefer the G22 for the caliber and was getting ammo for pennies more than 9mm. I also have 2 trade ins so agree that is an option. I also have a 27 for carry with the "Pinkie Holder" on the mags.
  4. If you "REALLY" want to punch a hole there is always the 416 Barrett
  5. The ammo runs about 40 cents a round and the older balistics tests I read were related to FMJ. The new bullet uses a Hornady VMAX 40 grain: SS197SR Sporting Cartrige.
  6. There is always the AR57: AR57 Complete upper for 700$ uses ps90 mags and fits on a standard AR lower. When built I will post pictures. But here is the one from the site:

You can always check out Cabelas for ammo: Cabela's -- Winchester USA Handgun Ammunition - Per 100 I found stuff there when it was hard to find other places. I agree with the carry and practice being 2 different calibers as long as you put a couple of mags of your carry ammo through the carry weapon when you are at the range. The difference being 40 cents and a dollar a round for the 45 and 27 cents and a dollar for 9mm. The personal defense rounds are about the same for both. The question becomes if saving 13 cents per shot is money wise? But I would get the 9 Just because. I currently have 380, 357, 9 and 40 but am picking up a 45 the end of the week. I so far have found "Perfectly good" reasons to have each caliber and to keep them. In an emergency you do not know what will be available.

  9. Thanks for the feed back! I was thinking about adding to my 300 win mag group which consists of one BLR at this time. I guess if I see a 700 at my Pushers location I will have to succumb to the addiction! Or maybe one day break down and order a BLR in 300 Win Mag! It is soooo depressing for a one of a kind and I would not want my BLR to feel left out! I understand Psychotherapy for long guns can get pricey!
  10. My dealer can usually get them as fast as if I order from Bud,s for those guns that are not common! If you want to drive a little I kno2w where you can get a NIB 27 tomorrow! Just PM me!
  11. I saw one today at Mike's in Tazewell! Maybe your local store can do a transfer!
  12. The slide issue for the wife is the strength needed to pull it back. By cocking the P238 there is less tension and the wife can pull it back easier. I also gave her a P239 in 40 with a rainbow finish for when she can carry a larger pistol because the G27 gave her the same problem and she did not want to practice to strengthen her pull! She is happy with both Sigs but I have not got the laser sights for her as yet!
  13. I got my wife the P238 because of the slide issue on the LCP! The Rainbow finish was an added plus for her!
  14. Saw these ay Walmart for under 300. Any thoughts on this model? I am not a bolt action fan but they have it available in Win 300 mag and I was wondering if it is to light for that caliber! TIA!
  15. The "Pimp" 38 special with hand engraving and ivory grips I got from my cousin. My G27!
  16. I found the ammo at Cabelas for about 40 cents a round about half what others want. I got the PS90 and then had to have the 5.7 pistol. I have not shot them yet but have heard good thing about accuracy. I am looking to use these to replace a 9 pistol and carbine around the house and farm. For longer range I have the SASS! I needed something with a range up to about 150 yards in a small easy to carry configuration. The PS90 fell into the specs! Of course a 50 round magazine was a plus.
  17. I actually carry a folding saw whenever I walk around the woods. It is faster than a hatchet or a machete. I have one of the razor teeth ones. I also carry pruning shears for small brush or branches. Any thing less is covered by my knives.
  18. Wolf makes a conversion barrel and a trigger job is available at some gun shops. I did the trigger job on my G27. You could probably find one or both on line.
  19. Pistol grip is OK for short distance with a lot of practice shooting from the hip. They make rail fore grips that allow light and or laser and vertical grip as well. There is a colapsible stock and even folding collapsible stocks. I have a top folder with pistol grip/ vertical fore grip with built in laser light. The folding stock with pistol grip would probably be the better choice. You can order a short barrel from Mossberg. They are available but you have to call!
  20. In this neighborhood their are sufficient springs on property or within walking distance so no worry. The well has a 1gpm minimum overflow that keeps the pond full which is stocked with fish for a meat source. BTW: Stills do a good job of purifying water or any other evaporation device. A tarp stretched out above the ground will provide sufficient water even in the desert where I used to live and learned survival techniques.
  21. Being at my BOL! My only concern is which bag is in my vehicle at the time I need to retreat home. Normally I would have a 556P 4 mags and 200 spare loose rounds as primary and a Sub2000 40 as backup to my G27 if Bug out is on foot and I need concealment. The G27 fits in my pocket and the Sub2000 is in a sling bag with xtra mags that fit both. It sorta looks like a custom day pack that is well worn.
  22. Norinco takes the same stock as a Remington at a cheaper price but needs a metric bolt. With enough visits to Pawn shops and Flea markets you should be able to find something used.
  23. Yet the British continued with a form of bondage in all of their colonies until they disbanded the colonies after the second world war. The au pair practice is a modified form of indentured servant. The claim that Britain was abolishing "slavery" in the mid 1700s is correct if you view it as abolishing the term "slavery" or refining the process and using new terms to define modified practices that could be construed as the same behavior. The victors rewrite history to place themselves in the best light. Even now we see some of the history from 50 to 60 years ago being rewritten.
  24. garufa: If it were not for the fine southern heritage NASCAR would not exist currently. As a person whose fore-bearers were some of the first settlers in Powell Valley of East Tennessee I am honored that NASCAR carries out the great southern tradition of trying to out run the "Revanoors"! I agree the history has been distorted to fit some groups agenda while that group claims others are doing the same. It appears that CNN is still being proactive at accusing others of their indiscretions. The following is an attempt at being PC or not! The "Life time" indentured servants that were transported to this country to allow them to escape their poverty in their native country and their descendants should be thankful of the opportunities allowed them. If it were not for the relocation attempts in the 1700s and early 1800s they would still be living in backward countries. Distortion is the name of the game in politics and "Happy-Happy, Joy-Joy" feelings and thoughts. The preceding was only an attempt at providing an alternate point of view and may not represent the views of the author
  25. Change the Y to an R along with the extra O! I have no problem with the number of people having permits being reported. The more permit holders the better for society as a whole. The listing of individual names in an invasion of privacy and should be prosecuted as an unlawful act. The readers of that paper can vote with their money by letting the advertisers know they will not do business with companies that condone such behavior and support it.
