Mousegunner: Nice Marlin! While the Limbsaver is probably a good idea, I would not advertise that I use one. It ruins your Macho Image!
-
Mike357: That ruins the image I was getting as I thought you had it in use somewhere!
-
Mike357: Bring your Henry over and it can get acquainted with mine. The whole purpose of natural aging like that is to give wives something to occupy their thoughts. Just think if she was not after you about that she would find something else to want you to do.

I walk in the woods around my house all the time and carry a Judge Magnum with #4 shot first, third, fifth and Hordaday 225 gr FTX for second and 4th rounds. There are more snakes in the woods than questionable critters. I also carry my pocket gun.

The one on the right has a funny lever and looks like it shoots plastic bullets.

How come everyone on you-tube shoots a revolver until it goes "CLICK"?
Desert Rat replied to Will Carry's topic in Handguns
I only have 5 fingers on my left hand! So I either have to shot a 5 shot or keep shooting until it clicks. Of course shooting a semi with either 6,7, 8,10, 15, 17, or even 31 depending on the day and what I am carrying. My wheel guns have 5, 6, or 7 and having "Oldtimers" STML means IDGAS about counting. I hear click and know the gun is either empty or misfired and both require attention. -
OS: I really thought it was "OUTHOUSE" But did not want to m bare ass him by saying that.

I vote for the set screws. They look smaller!

Mike: It looks like your gate needs a little touch up work

That way it fits in a suit case so I can carry it to the roof across the street from your building! It was designed that way for transport but taking it apart is a problem because it is soooo tight. It goes together easy but the lever is in a bad position. It is not quite as small as a Sub2000 but then a SUB2000 does not shot a 300 Win Mag or a small 308. I am thinking about adding a 30-06 or 270 but want the stainless. Mine are the bottom two of six with scopes! OS: Thanks for reminding me as I was going to look for one soon.

I know the Lightening is not a lever but it is from the same era.

When I watch Westerns I usually count more than 6 shots out of a 6 shooter before they reload. Dirty Harry never knew whether he had shot 5 or 6 either so he asked the "perp" to guess. Having primarily shot revolvers in the 70s and 80s I always pulled the trigger until the click, count to ten then open the wheel fast. Keeping the weapon pointed down range in case of a misfire. Now shooting an auto I wait for a click, drop the mag then check the slide. I am usually to busy concentrating on the target to worry about round count. -
I stopped by my pusher today and found this: Kimber > 1911 Pistols > Custom II > Desert Warrior™ I heard it ask for a new home so I adopted it!

Well just to be contrary about this. When I fired a 45 recently after 30 some years I decided the full sized is best but then I picked up a Crimson Ultra carry which is probably a must have for those times. My carry contraption cried out for a larger weapon and I broke down and consoled it by getting a Kimber Pro CDP II. My answer would be not to stop at a full size but get a compact as well. For me the full size shoots best then mid and the compact being for close work is better than a G27 or a LCP. At least I can shoot them better and for me that is what counts. Now for HD I want a tactical model with the rail for a light laser combo. Like the old commercial said: Bet you can not eat just one! I am afraid to let wife shoot them because every weapon she has shot recently she wanted.

I do buy one and get one free! I just have to pay double the going rate for the first one!

I think the M1As are a future shooting project. Of course it will not be first crack as I have almost sited the scope in at 50 before I was rained out the other day. The RFB does not come with any sights and I added a forward bottom rail for a vertical grip but do not have a bi pod for it yet. It is also to short to fit in a standard rifle rest for siting in. That is just a bit extra for those who are interested. The glass refered to is a Bushnell Elite 3200 fixed 10 X scope and the fore grip on it now is a CT green laser vertical grip which I will probably replace with a grip bipod combo without a light.

I am sure someone will have that pleasure soon.

I am not even sure what I paid for the SCAR17 because I have not paid for it yet. Rumor has it that they will be here by the end of the month at a lower price than on Gun Broker. It will remain a rumor until one is in my hands.
-
Mike: I will let you know when mine arrives but they are supposed to be compatible with FNAR! I do not need another type of weapon specific magazines in 308.

Just back from the hospital so it will be a couple of more days before I shoot it again. I am limited to less than 10 pounds for a week.

With a deep enough pond the fish will survive the changes in temperature and multiply. Koi prefer mud and will eat tadpoles and aquatic plants. I picked some up a couple of years ago and now have enough to offer anyone who wants to net them all the want. The herons in the neighborhood stop by for a meal from time to time. Throwing a bait net does wonders for my Joints these days.

I put my name on the list at my pusher and waited. Rumor has it they are ramping up production. I made 2 minor mistakes before shooting it today. 1 I did not eat breakfast 2 I sited in 3 other rifles before even touching this one I will try again later this afternoon or in the morning. However I can report that it did punch through 2 pieces of cardboard!
