  1. All I got to say is I've never seen a pair of chaps WITH an ass in them. (although I've seen a bunch of asses in chaps.
  2. Moving sucks at the best of times. Good luck.
  3. Redheads are dangerous.
  4. Has anyone used the Alliant 'STEEL' powder in pistol loads? Specifically 44 mag or 45 LC? It's between 2400 and H110 on burn rate, little slower than 2400. I saw some in the store between the only other two selections, Pyrodex and IMR 7828. From the internet, it's main problem is being a flake powder, it doesn't meter well.
  5. Anyone know how many posts it takes?
  6. I've got one on a old mauser I picked up in TX. Still has the stock barrel with simple ream job.  Haven't fooled around with it in 30+ years. My old sierra manual has loads for it, as it was pretty common in the 60's and 70's. Mine is a 8mm/06 improved, but the only dies I have are  straight 8mm/06. I just fireformed 30/06, and then just neck sized the cases. Used .323"170 gr hornady and 4064. I've probably still got the work up data somewheres.  Never got real serious with it, as it was and still is, rough as a cob.
  7. I get all sentimental when I hear Eric Burdin belting out "we gotta get out of this place". AFN coming over the headset from the ADF.. if you were trail you'd see a formation of huey's doing a little side shuffle boogie.
  8. When sex was safe and motorcycles were dangerous.
  9. saw the grips and thought I was having a flashback.
  10. I keep my savage 99eg wiped and pampered. I figured if she can make from the '40's looking good, it's the least I can do to show a little respect. Pain in the butt sometimes, though.
  11. Might have been a rust blue, there's not enough finish left to tell. By the code it's a Dec. 1929 model, and the finish is even gone where the stock covered it. No pitting though, just really really thin bluing left. Anyone know anybody they'd recommend? It's no collectors item, just a good old solid gun I'd like to revive.
  12. I have a 103, and I've used Numrich (Gun Parts corp).  I don't know about yours, but mine takes a beating with high velocity .22's. I stick with the standard or target stuff.
  13. Too bad the defenses couldn't make the trip, they would have enjoyed the game.
  14. I'm redoing a 1929 Rem. Model 30 that has been rode hard and NOT put up.  Any recommendations on a good refinishing shop in mid-Tn? Finish is thin, and from what I can determine, they weren't that great to start with. Either matte blue or parkerized.
  15. only thing dumber than a teenage girl is a teenage boy.   ask me how I know.
  16. "The Green Dragon"?    Can you get fried rice with that?
  17. It was pretty impressive, and frankly heartwarming, to see the response to the missing daughter of a fellow.TGO'er.  The WORD spread quickly and by 9.30ish am I had sent the picture to the 3 truckstops bordering I 40 here in Cumberland County, and I'm sure it was the same in other members AO.  Thank God this turned out well, but this could serve as an example of co-operation and 'getting the word out' that could be used in other emergency situations.

  18. Kids,,,,,,,,,thank the Lord she's safe.
  19. If they make it past the ol' ladies 2 1/2 lb yorkie,  I'll grab the p220.
  20. Old thread, but I just seen it.  I've got an old H&R in .22 hornet. Not a match gun by any means, but 1.5" at 100 yds. with the 6x weaver (Old thin crosshair model. PITA). Best thing about it; it's handier than a shirt pocket. Perfect loafing gun.
  21. Establish a principal that you won't be laid hands on. Stick to it.
  22. I carry a .22 for limb clipping. At 5 bucks a pop, i ain't leaving rattletraps/rapalas hanging in the trees.
