While I liked the "enooks" the hospital had, I would definately build my own so that it would be a little deeper, and have more shelves. I just liked their execution of the idea well enough to want to copy/improve on it in the future.

We had these fold down desks at a hospital I used to work at, I've wanted to build something similar since. http://www.anthro.com/families/enook/enook-standard

I didn't think that you did, but the linked article was worded to make it sound as if they had "uncovered" the top secret list. When in fact the EFF had sued under the freedom of information act to get the full list released last year. It was all over the news if you knew where to look.(three pages back in the science/technology section of your local newspaper sometime last summer) "While the use of drones in the U.S. is little known" " FULL LIST REVEALED HERE" In the engineering school here on campus there were posters plastered every 60 feet or so for the majority of last semester trying to entice engineering students to join the computer science students in an autonomous flying vehicle(drone) competition. The only reason many more universities aren't on that list is because they test fly their "drones" indoors. I generally just get tired of the news media of trying to make the American people scared of everything because fear works for increasing ratings. There are many great uses for drones(border patrol, forrest fire monitoring, regulatory monitoring of drilling operations) that I worry won't come fully to fruition b/c the news is too busy making the public scared to death of all of them.

wasn't really a secret or anything. http://www.newschannel5.com/story/19266199/mtsu-to-help-military-study-use-of-robots-drones

I just lay prone on my bed with the window open, when I hear the acorns hitting the roof of my car I wait about 60 seconds for them to come down the tree to retrieve them. Once you get the first the rest are fairly easy. I haven't found a good method for the moles and rabbits. . . yet. -
Mom & Pop Local Gun Stores, Are They @ Financial Risk?
2.ooohhh replied to runco's topic in General Chat
Yes but several I've talked to did 3-6 months worth of sales in 1 month, so they should have made enough to cover expenses going forward at least a couple months with light sales volume. Our car dealerships had the same issue when cash for clunkers was going on b/c the lot cleaned out of all the cars that met the criteria. It took almost 6 months to get inventory of the more fuel efficient cars back up and skewed the numbers for the fiscal year but the cars were still sold and financed and the money was in the bank. I think where they are sitting now is much better than had an executive order come down that made 11+ round mags illegal overnight before they could clear out any inventory. -
Nope, just had the pleasure of making her acquaintance at Nashville Armory one night.

Aircraft Cost Summary Assumptions for Variable, Fixed and Annual Budget The cost information displayed is the total aircraft variable cost per hour an operator can expect to incur during aircraft operation. Variable costs include fuel, airframe maintenance, labor and parts, engine restoration and miscellaneous costs. Eurocopter AS 355NP Twinstar HELICOPTERS $1,114 Helicopter costs can vary widly due to changes in configuration, payload capacity, and equipped systems. It looks like the Eurocopter in the video(as best I can identify it) averages around $1,114 per flight hour. I did find that San Bernardino has 6 helicopters currently, all outfitted to also be able to fight wildfires(i.e. -they are in the top tier of payload capacity) The $2000 dollar figure could be the top end of the range of fuel use hourly when hauling a load of water but I doubt he burned that much unloaded circling her to land. I do know that the air ambulances can blow the maintenance/fuel estimates out of the water due to the constant heavy payload of medical equipment and crew that they support on nearly every flight. "In the last year, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office has acquired five mission-equipped Eurocopters at a cost of $2.6 million each. A sixth is expected to arrive in early September. While the primary purpose of all of the helicopters is air patrol, their water-dropping capabilities have played a vital role in firefighting this season. State-of-the-art aircraft have become instrumental to firefighting in San Bernardino County, with its steep and rugged mountain terrain that makes access for firefighters on the ground difficult. The need was so great that for the first time in county history last month, a DC-10 jumbo jet that had been converted into an air tanker was brought in to help. It holds 12,000 gallons of flame retardant and can drop four times the amount of retardant onto a fire in a single pass."

I cough up for pelican/storm cases as it makes it easier to fly with the guns. TSA requires hardsided cases. Looks like your only about 30 miles from that company's headquarters, I'm sure they would let you have a closer look. You sure frequent a bunch of out of state Gun boards. . . I edited your post to remove the spam links. Dolomite

TN puts the gun in the hands of the officer for officer safety, I doubt any judge will say that alone was probable cause to run the guns numbers which may have only been brought into plan view in the intrest of officer safety during a supossedly unrelated stop. Carrying the gun is a crime, but with a HCP I'm clearly legally carrying and they may run that HCP # all they want to verify it's validity, but with no database of legal gun ownership there is no reason to run mine unless they have PC to believe that mine is stolen. The police don't generally like it but I've yet to have one push the issue and run my numbers. Running the numbers turns handling my gun for the officers safety into a search, which without my consent, a warrant, or PC would be unconstitutional.

Sure we absolutely have a right to privacy if the law abiding citizen wishes to not share that information, unless you have probable cause. I've never given consent for the numbers on my firearms to be run and never will. I believe you'll find in the links below that this is well supported in case law as well. Arizona v. Hicks Knowles v. Iowa

Yeah and while I pretty much get that, I still expect them to at least try and keep the other versions functional. Our SMF board was without it for period of about 6 months about a year back b/c of an Issue with the image hosting they added. To me if you can't add a new feature without breaking the software, then you shouldn't add the feature. Though judging from the lack of progress on the SMF side since then I believe they've figured that out finally. :) -

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2013/02/torrance-shooting-dorner-manhunt.html Looks like the PD managed to also hit several houses and at least 3 other cars when they were firing at the blue truck with the unarmed women delivering newspapers. :ugh: -

What amazes me about tapatalk is how great works on my vbullitin board, compared to how badly it seems to tax the server here, yet on my SFM board it's only mediocre, lacking almost all the admin features present in the vb version. If they could make the admin side of it half as polished and stable as the client side across platforms I would like it a lot more. -
Midway Has Several .22 LR Ammo Available
2.ooohhh replied to Cartel's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Yep mine arrived yesterday, they are usually pretty good about getting things that are in stock shipped. They could still stand to learn a few things from amazon but overall they aren't too shabby. -
I storage/ transport at camp I use the MSR dromedary bags, they hold up to a hell of a lot more abuse than any other soft sided water bag I've found. Available Here For my packs that take built in bladders for use while I hike I prefer the geigerrig setups. They have optional inline filters which I keep in my get home bag b/c they are the lightest filtration I've found.

^This, It's already been outed by insiders that the web inventory of the store only updates once a day, usually around midnight.
