  1.   I have a Sig P229 Classic. First 500 or so rounds it was a little picky, after that it's eaten everything I put through it except some subsonic I wouldn't normally purchase save for the 22LR shortage. I upgraded both my mags to 15 rnds via sigpower so they match my p229 in 9mm and it's been a great trainer/plinker. I got a 40 S&W centerfire conversion for it  as well and it's been flawless in both calibers for cheaper than a p229 .40 would have cost alone.
  2. This is often true, you can't wait until 100k with no trans maintenance and then decide to change the fluid, it needs to be changed in regular intervals from the get go or not at all from my experience.
  3. And what are your qualifications to evaluate transmission failures?   As a former factory trained technician for two makes (VW and BMW) I've replaced more than my fair share of "lifetime fill" VW, Audi, and BMW transmissions and NEVER had even one come out cheaper than replacing the fluid regularly.   Mine have never failed but I always service them regularly.
  4. If you leave it in until the trans goes out that would fulfill the "lifetime" qualification. I service ALL my transmissions and diffs every 30k, regardless of the factory's advice. (fluid is cheap compared to transmissions and diffs) Several years back BMW upped the oil change interval to 15k to reduce the maintenance cost on their cars since they were covering the first few years of maintenance. I had to change one customers oil with a scraper and chisel b/c they thought to would be fine to skip one if they were too busy. That's a chunk of factory 5w-30 in between my fingers in the picture.
  5.     I would love to see what you made Dolomite, I've modified several of my lee's seaters but never thought about making an entire new one from derlin no less! (at least until you said that)
  6. "They" were likely the copyright holders jesse was stealing work from openly. If they seed their own work they can monitor who is connecting to them to steal parts of the file. Comcast often threatens to deny internet service to that address and hand over the user's ID to the copyright holder's attorneys.(as per the service agreement for obtaining internet acces via Comcast.   If you use bit-torrent only for legal file downloads such as legally distributed linux ISOs or Cody's gun designs you won't get a notice b/c they are licensed for redistribution where as popular music, and commercially released movies typically aren't.
  7. I had to get a TN permit even though I was a resident of Oregon at the time due to a change in my employment. I went from contract labor based out of OR to being hired on locally by a TN based business. My resident OR permit was good in TN until then, but now I have to keep both up since OR doesn't recognize TN's permit.  :squint:
  8. I'm WAY more worried about a neighborhood kid drowning in my pool than I am them getting into my guns. Just not worried about it enough to get rid of the pool.
  9.     Anyone considering a magicjack should look into an OBi, I got a 110 a few years ago ago and have been enjoying a free voip line for the house utilizing google voice ever since.   http://amzn.com/B0045RMEPI
  10. I bought 500 of those same bullets a few weeks back, IIRC they were priced at $8 per 100, It was definitely low enough that I picked up a handful and inspected them very closely before I purchased. (too good to be true and all that) I knew going in that all the rounds wouldn't be loadable I was hoping for 50%, but I think the price was 75%-80% off what I could find them for online.(but nowhere online had them in stock anyway) I'm not saying that the way the owner treated you was right b/c I wasn't there to witness it, but I can say that all my dealings have been fine and I appreciate having another option for reloading supplies.(DLM is tops though!) It sounds like your friend didn't know what to look for and felt cheated when he found out that many wouldn't be usable which I would never want to be a new re-loaders experience.
  11. I love my actual comcast internet, but I will never understand how they can make so many billing errors.    I gave comcast 50+ days notice I was moving using the "moving assistance" website and phone number. (I moved all of 7 miles) I thought all was well. . .   When I was finally setting up service at the new house they stated that I owed for the service at the property that wasn't paid up. I notified them that I had closed on the property the day before and provided my paperwork proving such. She told me that the man I bought the house from had stolen my Identity and used it to set up an account with comcast in 1997. Then she suggested that the best way to fix it was to get the police involved for the identity theft and bring back the police report so they could wipe the past debt on the address. . .  I politely explained that they had obviously just modified the previous owner's account in their database with my info instead of moving my account from the old address to the new, and that I would not be filing a false report with the police. She responded that it couldn't possibly have happened like that he must have stolen my identity. :stunned:   Her supervisor returns from a run to another store and gives me a billing number to resolve the situation, they finally did after nearly a week involving frequent hour plus phone calls.   Then just last month I get a forwarded collections notice for "unreturned equipment- cable modem" from when I stopped the service at my old address. I call them and informed them that I have NEVER rented ANY equipment from them for any service, they said "yeah, I'm looking at your account and I see no equipment linked to the account but the system automatically generates these if you don't return any equipment. I'll just remove it for you this time"  :squint:

    IHeartRadio

"Pandora" and "TuneIn Radio" are worth checking out as well. I find myself bouncing through the 3 of them throughout the workday. I've found that Pandora does particularly well with some genres that the other two don't have enough variety of.
  13.     As I understand it that was Disney's mistake, they should have fired the security guard for "not liking mustard on hot dogs". In an employment at will state all the "protection" some are requesting from TN does is force the company to fire you for some BS reason rather than saying that it was b/c you had a gun in your car (which is completely legal) or face litigation.
  14.     FL law does NOT protect employment status. If the employer lists no firearms in the employee handbook, rules, or employment contract the employee can be fired "for cause" if they violate the rule.
  15.     ^this.  If the IRS weren't doing this I'd say they were not doing their jobs very well. If you knew how many times a day you are referenced in a DB you would either wonder how the cashier at your local 7/11 didn't already know what cigarettes to hand you, or be furious that everyone is tracking everything you do nearly everywhere.
  16. I've found giving it away to young shooters seems to both help kill the secondary market and make me feel warm fuzzy inside.
  17.   Rory, much like yourself I'm gainfully employed, pay my taxes, and get off my ass and Vote every chance I get. I still wear the white hat and always balance out to the good karma wise.
  18. I've just been turning in the larger resellers for suspected tax evasion. It only cost me a little time researching them online and a stamp for the envelope. Got one that I totalled up over $2k in online ammo sales in the last 3 months.
  19. Her maiden name was Heather Bucha, her father was Paul Bucha who did receive the Medal of honor on May 14, 1970.  She's still a lying sack of [expletive deleted]. (Calling our representatives claiming to be from Bristol among other false claims)     Here she is!     Her dad's medal of honor story   Before she married Whalen she dated Nuno Bettencourt   Her Twitter   Careful when calling her out though, her brother is a fair attorney in Dulles VA.     Also her dad Paul Bucha "served as CEO of Delta Frangible Ammunition, the worlds leading developer of lead free ammunition for military and law enforcement."
  20. That ping is more realistic of good service, comcast's traffic is top tier on other providers in the US as well as due to mutual carry agreements with other high bandwidth partners. I'm not saying that your service isn't worth what your paying or that it's bad service it's actually great you just have to be wary of where the speed test data comes from.(keeps 'em honest :) ) My connection here speeds up greatly when I'm not sharing it with several thousand coworkers. :woohoo:
  21. What your seeing aren't your true results, your traffic isn't leaving even leaving comcast's infrastructure and they heavily favor their customers traffic on their pipes. Here's my "speedtest" from comcast's server (they are dramatically slowing my traffic b/c I'm not using their services) Move to a server that doesn't have bias to any traffic and my ping drops by half and my upload doubles despite the 10x increase in distance traveled. . .
  22. The plant has it's own boat ramp This shot shows their orientation across from one another in the lake.
  23. I don't generally spend much if anything on .223 or .308 brass b/c it's so plentiful, I picked up 1k rounds off the ground last time I went to the range before I got tired of picking it up. If I were I'd venture $50 per 1k would be fair if it's clean. Now if you have brass for 300 savage or 6.8 spc then I would pay a much higher price b/c I can't generally find those littering the ground at the local range.
  24. RC airboat.
