  1. 4 Officers total, 2 were Indiana State Troopers (patch in video around 5:48) The 2 in brown/tan uniforms look to be St. Joseph County Sheriff's Deputies.(video location appears to be South Bend, Indiana) Location appears to be the Autozone 3921 West Western Avenue South Bend, IN 46619
  2. Sounds like a road sign asking to be messed with if I ever saw one. . .
  3. Andoid v? and iOS 6+ have emergency alerts build into the OS and enabled by the cell carriers.
  4. I only use the nano vaults mounted in vehicles and when traveling. If I'm getting in or out of or into my cars I'll more than likely already have my keys in hand so the keyed lock is not an inconvenience especially since it uses the same key as my houses, trailers, ect after modification.    If I were looking for a bedside lock box it would likely be of the 5 button fast access variety, They are a great option where fast access is desired.
  5.     Yeah, you have to pick models pretty carefully, and sometimes even spend a little more time and money to get them up to snuff. The video below has some very good info in it especially about dumping the cheap locks that come on most of these lock boxes and upgrading to a proper lock such as an abloy.   http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2012/01/16/hacking-firearm-lock-boxes/
  6. I have a GunVault NanoVault 200 mounted in each vehicle. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another product from them, though I went with the nano b/c I prefer no electronics on my smaller lock boxes. I keyed them all alike so I don't have to worry about which is in which vehicle.
  7. You can just mount the winch to a reinforced 2" receiver. Then with a simply installed boxed hitch you can move the winch where you need it. I keep mine in the cargo box on my car hauler but it can be mounted to either of my trailers, or on to my truck/beetle. When not in use it is stored in the box both secure and out of the weather. not my winch but an example of the method.
  8. Truck bed crane comes to mind, possibly mounted to a small trailer set up for off road duty to tow behind the jeep.
  9. I've been waiting for a DA/SA SAS to be available but all the p224s I've had a chance at locally were the DAK versions.
  10. Sony has botched a few firmware updates, but all I have seen have been reissued and fixed.   Out of 3 360's I owned I encountered RROD 5x. Even though I didn't purchase until late in the release cycle(after the new chipset was supposed to have eliminated "the problem") 3 of 5 were as I sat down to game with guests over and really ruined the experience. Hard to have a sweet head to head forza match up on a pair of consoles when one RRODs pregame, also hard to have a 3 screen sim setup for Forza when one of the 3 consoles required was seemingly always out for repair. . . My PS3s(4) have ALL been nearly flawless, 3 of four are still in my possession and working fine.(one was stolen)    That said, I currently doubt I'll buy either of the next gen consoles. I've yet to see anything on either that I just have to have over what I already have. It looks like I'll end up with an ouya, vintage GBA with back light, and a sim setup for the new rfactor platform.
  11. It might be his lawsuit when carry in bars was legalized. I've been avoiding his restaurants since.   "Randy Rayburn, owner of three top-rated restaurants in Nashville, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday challenging the state law’s constitutionality, arguing it creates a public nuisance by threatening the safety of the public…"   Sourcehttp://www.reuters.com/article/2009/07/02/us-guns-bars-odd-idUSTRE5613JQ20090702
  12.   No "law" against it, but I assure you that should the school give you the boot for breaking the "rules" that they will likely be more than happy to charge you with trespassing should you step back on school grounds, which you can get in trouble for legally.
  13. I use google alerts to look for things like that.   http://www.google.com/alerts
  14. I was getting the "glock bulge" on some .40 brass, I just didn't keep the glock very long though.(solved the "problem" ) I could see how the repeated working of the case could eventually cause an issue. It never did it nearly as bad as below with my reloads though, it was generally with hot factory ammo. I still see it occasionally in range pickups but typically in .40 rather than 9mm, I reload them once fully re-sized.
  15. Thanks! Seems to have less lag loading threads now. :)
  16. We got stopped in this manner coming back in from Caracas late last year, kinda freaky getting pulled out on the tarmac while they searched the plane, but it still took less time than going through security to fly commercially and they were relatively polite for DHS agents.
  17.   The Sheriff's are not all in line with this, just the association. . .   http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2013/06/08/clinton-county-sheriff-on-concealed-carry/   So that apparently makes the list Clinton, Randolph, and Madison counties at the moment.
  18. Vanderbilt allows sporting weapons to be checked as well.   http://police.vanderbilt.edu/students/weapons-safekeeping/
  19. THP 50 year commemorative S&W Model 19 left to me by my grandfather when he passed. Reminds me that I need to pull it out of the safe and get some better pics.
  20. I generally replace my fan and compressor capacitors every other year as preventative maintenance. Some units have a single capacitor that services both.
  21. Yep. If I'm join to judge a man based on his actions I'll choose more important actions than him putting his feet on his desk for a photo op or letting a foreign leader sit in his seat behind it. At the end of the day it's just a desk setup in a set made to look like an office.
  22. Well up until the judge crossed that line several hours after my post, this particular corner of healthcare WASN'T political.  H&HS has a contract with UNOS with the specific intent to wash their hands of the selection and distribution process to keep the politics out of it and require that all decisions be fact based. Now that has all changed and there are going to be major repercussions within the transplant/medical community. Sebelius could not overrule only request that the medical board review the policy(it's up for review and discussion with the UNOS board on 6/10 now), but apparently the lawyers for UNOS agreed that a Judge could and proceeded to submit to the injunction.
  23.   I sold several guns in Jan. but I don't consider myself either. I got well more than most were worth to me, I didn't let any go that I didn't want to, and I got a lot of money to buy different replacements over the summer.   One example I sold was a Ruger 10/22 that I bought 12 years ago, I had been curious about the new take downs but didn't really want multiple 10/22s taking up space in the safes. I sold my older well used 10/22 for enough to buy a new 10/22 take down and some mags to spare from a guy that had to have one "RIGHT NOW!" while they were out of stock. I also cleaned the safe of several entry level ARs I had acquired to balance debts or in trades.
  24. There is no "top of" the organ list in any organs other than Kidney, Pancreas, and combined Kidney Pancreas. The reporter likely couldn't properly explain how to balance a checkbook much less calculate a lung allocation score. (not the reporter's fault she's likely not paid to understand the ins and outs of solid organ transplant like I am. :2cents: )   Factors in calculating the LAS diagnosis of the patient (e.g. emphysema, cystic fibrosis, etc.); age of the patient; body mass index; presence or absence of diabetes mellitus; ability to function according to the NYHA scale; perecentage of predicted forced vital capacity (FVC); systolic pressure of the pulmonary artery; mean pressure of the pulmonary artery (only required of sarcoidosis patients); pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCW pressure); flow rate of supplemental oxygen required at rest; distance walked in six minutes; need or lack of need for continuous mechanical ventilation; levels of creatinine in the blood.         A change in the patient's base data changes the LAS, which in turn may reorder the entire list for that patient's blood group. With a population of 200+ patients as in region 2 where this girl is currently listed I can assure that this happens multiple times a day 365 days a year as centers update the listed patients' wedge pressures, O2 requirement's, systolic pressures, and Creat. values. to add to the confusion the raw LAS score can be altered by a physician filing and receiving and exemption for a test a patient cannot currently complete from the UNOS Lung review Board, this could give the patient a modified LAS for a period of up to 30 days when it must be either re-applied for or cancelled. Most often when I see these approved it's b/c the patient can't perform a 6 min. walk due to their condition. Time on the list can play a factor in who gets a Lung but only as a tiebreaker for patients with the same LAS.   In a blood group the patients are listed in order by LAS with distance to the organ as a modifier and age of the donor determining which recipient age groups the organ will be offered to.     What the reporter probably was supposed to say was that they patient was "listed as status 1A on the 12-17 age range list for her blood type for the next 10 days."     To be quite frank, statistically this girl's changes of getting an organ likely went up as much or more from school letting out for the summer than it did from all the parent's legal wrangling.
  25. Wow this guy actually must have his head on straight! I like his suggestions.   "If not an Illinois resident, the person must have a concealed-carry permit, which requires a background check, issued from his or her home state."
