  1. There simply aren't enough good original movies in theaters, I can count on one hand how many movies I go to the theaters for in a year now, MANY of the movies I watch are older sci-fi or westerns in our home theater. When fans are willing to(and required to) fund a large chunk of the production costs of a movie they think should be made it speaks volumes about the movies the industry is choosing to produce.   Veronica Mars   Another more recent story   The wife and I donated more than we would typically pay to see a movie in theaters(she is a huge VM fan), but we got a poster signed by the cast, Blu-ray/DVD combo, t-shirt, and copy of the script. I honestly don't think I've looked forward to a movie coming out this much since Lucas re-released the "nearly original" Star Wars trilogy to theaters in '97.   Will the movie change the world or be a hit at the box office. . .Highly unlikely but there are certainly some very dedicated fans that want to see it which is more that I could say for another spiderman remake.
  2. Ended up dragging out my other "workbench" this afternoon to put up some shelving, Since I'm a car guy my garage has NO space for wood/remodeling tools so all of them pretty much live in constant flux being shuffled around from room to room where ever the work is going on currently. I have a few of these Heavy Duty Work stands from dewalt that I pretty much use for everything woodwork/construction wise. One day they might be holding my miter saw, the next I might have tabletops on both for furniture assembly, I've even been known to clamp a 2x14 to them and use them like scaffolding when painting crown molding.
  3. That was about 10 min. after it came off the flatbed before anything could accumulate on it. Normally you can't see the stainless steel top.
  4. I had this one at work a few years and decided to keep it when I "retired".
  5. Try PSA   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/federal-american-eagle-suppressor-22lr-45gr-copper-plated-50rds-ae22sup1.html
  6.   Totally depends on the quality of the brass and occasionally on the gun they are being fired from.(some guns are rougher on brass than others) I have seen some brass where the primer pockets get loose after around a half dozen reloads. I also have some nato brass that has been kicking around since the late '90s that I have honestly lost count on.
  7. Fortunately I haven't had a failed drive get that far. I always start with spinrite by Steve Gibson and it has never let me down to date.   https://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm
  8.   Yeah to do it when I was younger it required a low voltage license, I wasn't on the billing/quoting end though so I have no input on the going rate per drop.
  9. A state or municipality may still impose a franchise tax or telecommunications tax to the internet provider(IE AT&T or comcast) the cost of which will certainly be passed on to consumers. The law only stipulates there will be no direct tax levied on internet services specifically to the consumer based on internet speed(ie- bandwidth tax), or usage by volume(ie- the bit tax or email tax) or any other tax method that would cause multiple taxation on the same service. TN already taxes internet providers by considering the providers  telecoms.

  11.         The video posted has nothing to do with Internet sales tax.       Internet Tax Freedom Act - This law bars federal, state and local governments from taxing Internet access and from imposing discriminatory Internet-only taxes such as bit taxes, bandwidth taxes, and email taxes. (it does not bar collection of sales tax on commerce)   Market Place Fairness Act -  Is proposed legislation pending in the United States Congress that would enable state governments to collect sales taxes and use taxes from remote retailers with no physical presence in their state.
  12. 2. May I lawfully transfer a firearm to a friend who resides in a different State?    Under Federal law, an unlicensed individual is prohibited from transferring a firearm to an individual  who does not reside in the State where the transferee resides. Generally, for a person to lawfully  transfer a firearm to an unlicensed person who resides out of State, the firearm must be shipped to a  Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) within the recipient’s State of residence. He or she may then  receive the firearm from the FFL upon completion of an ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background  check. More information can be obtained on the ATF website at www.atf.gov and  http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unlicensed-persons.html. The GCA provides an exception from this  prohibition for temporary loans or rentals of firearms for lawful sporting purposes. Thus, for  example, a friend visiting you may borrow a firearm from you to go hunting. Another exception is  provided for transfers of firearms to nonresidents to carry out a lawful bequest or acquisition by  intestate succession. This exception would authorize the transfer of a firearm to a nonresident who  inherits a firearm under the will of a decedent. See 18 U.S.C. 922(a)(5).    Source
  13. I've seen NFA trusts quoted from $99-$399 with the higher end being face to face with a local attorney while the lower end was internet based.
  14. OP- What's your budget for a soundbar?
  15. Not to defend Wal-Mart but you do realize that would require several full pallets of 550rnd boxes of federal 22lr just to send ONE box to each Wal-Mart Supercenter in the US. There are quite a few of them to say the least(3,273 according to wikipedia) and that doesn't count the non supercenters. :stunned:
  16. yep, they've sent that notice a couple years now.  :pleased:
  17.   One local gun shop where my wife's family is from(IL) is holding all bulk packs received each week of 22lr until each sat. at noon and doing raffles in store for the available packs. Must be available to win, one bulk pack per person, first drawn gets first crack at the selection. It was a little annoying since I had just missed the raffle last time I was up there but it did seem reasonably fair to me for all their customers while allowing the shop to keep selling the packs at reasonable prices. (cheaper than wal-mart on some!)
  18. Ideally, each TV would have it's own set top box(appleTV, Roku, PS3, ect), but each set top box would be logged into the home's single shared account from each service you subscribe to.(Hulu+, Amazon, Netflix, and Crunchy Roll in my case) As Keal said some services limit how many streams you can have open at one time so while I have 5 TVs only two of them at any given time can be streaming shows provided by Netflix. In my case since it is just my wife and I it is NEVER a problem. Now if we had kids/guests and were somehow trying to watch 3 shows from Netflix simultaneously one TV would get a warning message with a web address to upgrade our account. Most often I am watching Netflix or Amazon while the wife watches Hulu+, unless the wife and I are watching something together.
  19. That residence was occupied by FCF park rangers at least during the spring/summer/fall months when FCF is busy last I was up that way. A friend was dating an interpretive ranger that was living there. Not saying bugging out there is a terrible idea, but I do know one time we showed up in a different car well after dark and were greeted by a gun barrel until her roommate(also a park ranger) recognized who it was.   The fire tower does have a great view though.
  20. I would have no problem using them in a daily driver that is just as likely as not going to take another rock in the future. On older cars or cars that sit a lot (collectors) I try and go OEM where I can b/c I think it's generally better quality. (increases value in some buyer's minds) Or if the window is more than just a simple window. (I.E. BWM windshields with the luminescent panel for the rain sensing wipers)   The front windshield I'm about to put in my '71 VW bus is 40 years old and though a little cloudy around the edges it's still less distorted in the curves than the import replacements I've seen, but old bay window buses, corvettes, and P-cars are kinda special applications when it comes to glass due to the extreme bends so they are more picky than most.
  21. I have an odd feeling it depends on the content, MLB contractually can't let me stream "in market games" even though we don't really live in an MLB market IMHO. With a good VPN, and a credit card that bills to an apartment in Berlin I manage to get all the games the wife wants to watch and to the MLB's server logs and pocket book it looks like a Card's fan watching from Germany. It would be much easier to just steal the content but if there is any even remotely quasi-legal way for me to pay for the content I want, I try to.
  22. Also choosing the TV with the roku is the way to go, the Roku, Atv, chrome-cast, playstation, ect. are updating and adding features/content at a pace no smart TV manufacturer seems to be able to keep up with., though I only have experience with samsung and sony smart TVs.
  23. Keal,   Wife and I cut the cord about 5 years ago, currently have Hulu, Netflix, and Prime. Oddly enough we're about to cancel Hulu b/c it overlaps greatly with what is available here OTA, so our DVR catches that. Otherwise Netflix and Prime both have either exclusives or originals that we watch and love. (Prime- Justified, Political Animals, Betas) (Netflix- House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Lilyhammer)   I highly recommend http://canistream.it/ for making sense of what is available at any given time on the different services, and allows you to set reminders for when a show becomes available on a particular service.   http://instantwatcher.com/ is another netflix content tracking site the wife uses frequently.     If you have a SO or have guests using a particular TV stick with appleTV or the Roku, the chrome-cast is lacking in the UI dept.

    Sig Sauer P224

If your other carry or dept. issued pistol is a p229, M11, or p226 and you carry spare mags for those on your belt they work in either gun. I.E. possible excellent backup/off duty for a LEO normally carrying a p229. It has to be thick to get the capacity and compatibility with sig's double stack mags.   So it's no different in application than a owning a glock 19 and carrying a glock 26 as a backup/more concealable option.   As for the price it's a Sig, it is what it is, I doubt they were shooting for the "budget friendly backup firearm" slot with this but I understand it turns some people off of the brand.
