I have one of those "expensive" $54 a month phone bills but considering how much data I use in a typical month(20-40GB) that's cheap. :2cents: FI would have me at around double my current bill for 10GB of data but it's still hundreds less than the next closest competitor's quote. While I love Ting, Google's FI is becoming available by invite in most of TN as well, though limited to the Nexus 6 ATM it is a viable option for someone who needs more data. https://fi.google.com/about/

Need car brake rotors turned/lathed in Williamson County
2.ooohhh replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Around me there's the Napa store, O'Relly's Auto Parts, and oddly enough Express Oil Change in cool springs had a full ammco brake lathe setup in the back shop last I was there. I've always turned the rotors on my superdutys, they can be turned 2-3 times before min. spec if I catch the pads early enough. Quality replacement rotors for some vehicles are not $30, in fact even cheap rotors for the f350 start at around 3x that. -
Looks like I can swing by, RSVP sent. Thanks KahrMan

Vanderbilt also has one on the Medical Center's campus on Thursdays in the summer if you find yourself in the area. Starting Thursday, June 4, and will be held every Thursday from 3-6 p.m. through Oct. 29 http://news.vanderbilt.edu/2015/05/this-years-farmers-market-set-for-alternate-location/

"Beware the man who only has one gun. He probably knows how to use it!" springs to mind. I can hit a pie plate with some impressive regularity at 50 yards with my favorite handgun so it certainly wouldn't surprise me if someone could double that with some additional practice.

So lemme get this straight. . . If I join a biker gang I'll likely be stuck out in the parking lot fighting with a rival gang over parking space. :yuck: If I don't, I'll get to huddle in the cooler with the twin peaks servers and staff "for our protection". :pleased: :stunned: With outcomes like that, why would anyone ever want to join a biker gang?

My garage door is held closed by slide locks on each side with a padlock through them. From outside it may as well be a wall. From inside I can have it unlocked and open in around 30-60 seconds. If you want it to open and close automatically from outside there are shaft drive openers with electronic locking bolts that are much more secure than a typical belt/chain driven type opener that I have used in the past. If you want to get somewhat fancy with your current opener and not have to get on and off a ladder to open/close it. . . one of these- http://amzn.com/B007UZH7B8 and one of these- http://amzn.com/B00FWYESVQ Then you can set up rules for when the opener has power. IE- only if your cell phone is connected to the home wifi. Not to mention you once you have the hub you are set up to add automation to other parts of the home such as lights.

Cameras and alarm systems only help AFTER they break in. Start with physically securing the property better to fend them off before they get in. After our break in at our prior home I went to simple mechanical window locks and much better deadbolts, and beefed up the screws both into the jam securing the deadbolt's cup and in the hinges of all the exterior doors. I find myself visiting TGO from the OR often, especially when awaiting test results to come back in the middle of the night. I've also been known to volunteer to man the ECRV in the early morning hours while deployed with the ARC, often to get my daily TGO fix. :pleased:

At the sounds game now, public owned land for recreational use, no OC and not drinking so guessing I won't become a test case.

Dad got a call he had won something, not sure what yet. Another friend works a guy that won 2 at the show a kel-tec and a glock.

As typical the news has left out a large part of the story. Like most new laws it's essentially an unfunded mandate to the local law enforcement. Unfortunately there is just not enough law enforcement in that corner of oregon to begin to even think of trying to enforce such laws. You have to have been out there to understand it. For years now the law enforcement has been trying to get a handle on the actual crime in and around the counties' mountainous terrain and thousands upon thousands of acres of state and national forests. But at the same time timber payments have come to a screeching halt, which previously made up over half of some of these counties' budgets, and the citizens all refused a tax increase to continue critical community services such as Police, EMS, and Fire. Cutting of the income- http://www.oregonlive.com/environment/index.ssf/2012/01/loss_of_federal_forest_payment.html Everyone voted "no new taxes" so many services had to be cut. . . i.e. from 24.5 deputies to 6 - http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/05/josephine_county_begins_disman.html Very little was missed by the drastic budget reduction including releasing many of the inmates from the county jail- http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/05/josephine_county_begins_releas.html http://ouroregon.org/sockeye/blog/recipe-disaster-josephine-county Cliff's notes- "The sheriff's office issued a public warning for people in a "potentially volatile situation" such as being the protected person in a restraining order. "You may want to consider relocating to an area with adequate law enforcement services."" "With just six patrol deputies for the entire county, this amounts to one deputy for every 13,785 residents -- up dramatically from a ratio of one deputy to 3,308 people before the cuts took place. Or, from a geographical stand point, each remaining deputy is effectively responsible for 273 square miles of the county."

Wow, that's only about 15-20 miles from our beach house. All I know is that if where they are mining is anywhere near as rugged as the national forest it backs up to it could get real interesting if it comes to blows.

Yeah there will be a lot of fun fan videos released in the coming days as we get closer to celebration. Many of my friends from the 501st are out there for it. I couldn't be convinced to step foot in California again star wars convention or not. http://www.starwarscelebration.com/

Thanks worried man, I came into the live video as they were voting and guess I caught the second no, and the rest of the aye's. Either way it sounded pretty good judging by the look on Beth's face. :)

Ok so I caught all but one voting aye, one no but what was the vote to do? ? ?

Actually smoking anywhere near a hospital entrance is generally against the law in davidson county outside or not unless it is a designated smoking area. Some are 50 feet, many are 200 feet. I know some hospitals do little to enforce it, but I've seen VUPD write several tickets for it in the parking garage. https://www.nashville.gov/mc/ordinances/term_2011_2015/bl2012_115.htm Also, I haven't seen "the right to smoke shall not be infringed" anywhere in the constitution. -
Yeah, the p239 fits only in large cargo pockets.

p224 or p239 are the smaller current da/sa sigs

TN Gun Deaths exceed car deaths in 2013 ..... (right....)
2.ooohhh replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
Not to mention apples to oranges. Cars are designed to be safer year after year, their primary purpose being shuttling you from point A to B. Firearms are designed to inflict bodily harm, hopefully only to those who rightfully deserve it inflicted upon them because they have left no other reasonable option. To design them to inflict less harm would be against their primary function. If you parked every vehicle currently on the road the auto deaths would suddenly drop to near nil, many clinically obese would likely be cured a short time after, and there would likely be no more DUIs. . . BAN CARS! (it's for the children) :2cents: -
Yeah, happiness all depends on what I pay for vs what I get. Previously I was paying around the same for "up to" 50mbps down, limited to 300 gb per month, with frequent outages, jitter issues, and terrible customer service. Now I have "at least" 12mbps down, no cap, and great customer service for around the same price with "acceptable" speed for what I pay. Google on the other hand will for the same monthly charge provide gigabit fiber which obviously beats the pants off all of comcast's nashville price points and services.

In on the tasting hersh. As to my latest spirit quest I've been into a few spiced rums for a change of scenery while on vacation. Brinley Gold was the best of the bunch by far for anything mixed. While I found I preferred crusoe over ice. Untitled by systemdelete, on Flickr

Oh, don't get me wrong it could certainly be much better, but I live in brentwood where almost every one of my neighbors also have comcast on their ancient infrastructure, and thanks to the huge lots my options on DSL are even more slim due to my distance from node. If our market wasn't so saturated my pings would be much better. On residential service at this same address I was seeing frequent drops, and 10-20 more ms on my average ping! I do know what fast internet is supposed to feel like, here's a test from my desk a min ago. lol
